Break, yes. But for what ? To sing the trash that is churned out nowadays in the name of film music ? When top singers like Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit are under-utilized and under-challenged (except for the occasional good scores as in Bajirao Mastani), what to say of these singers, even though they are also extremely good ! The day that our Music directors realise that the treasure (Indian Music) is at home only, and there is no need to purge all melody out of songs they compose, so that it more and more resembles Western Rock and Pop or vulgar folk ( the Lotan Kabootar kind), that day we will have good songs again. Just my 2-bit opinion.

I have just one thing to say about Shailaja ..one can so say much about her superlative singing but I am not talking about that...but she did one thing which makes her a divine artist...at 1.57 when the saxophone player gets up for the famous background piece . Shailaja at once moves to one side so that the audience can see the musician playing that sax. That thing she did is unparallelled and the greatest tribute and respect one can show to another artist musician. Hats off Shailaja I have become your fan for life for that one thing you did.
While falling short of proper words to describe the beauty and aura of this collection if superb singers, I must say that I Am enthralled at their incredible performance , enhancing the beauty of which is the great live orchestra. Only wish I were fortunate to be in their persence ti hear them in performance rather than sitting thousands of miles away and watching then in a small phone screen.
