Damn!! It’s lookin good!! Jus’ a question can it cut threads or is it just a manual one(I know it probably can’t, but just crossed my mind) also that tool holder looks slick along with the paint job on the bed, good luck!! Bye!!👋👋
It actually can cut threads, its got an auto feed gear fitted on the bottom with a lever to engage it. Only problem is I was given a box full of gears whe I bought it, along with some other accessories. But I unfortunately have no info chart with the gear ratios referenced, so I have no idea how to size up the correct gears to the thread I want. :/ Something to worry about in the future. For now I'm quite happy using my tap and die set. :)
Oh that’s cool, you can usually find charts online for what size gears to use for what thread pitch, smaller lathes usually have you manually swap gears instead of selecting ones on the machine, but work just the same!! Thanks for replying so fast, best of luck with this project it’ll ‘’turn’’ out amazing!!
Damn you have really brought that lathe back to life!
Hey thanks!
Its slow progress, but I'm pretty happy with how its going so far. :)
Really enjoying this restoration series! The quick swap part looks awesome! Can’t wait to see more!
Thanks a lot CJ! Part 4 is already being filmed. :)
Awesome!!
