Dieses Video ist mir eine große Hilfe. Vielen Dank! Welche Form ist im gesprochenen Deutsch am häufigsten? Etwas sehen/schauen/gucken oder sich (Dativ) etwas ansehen/anschauen/angucken?
I noticed you pronounce the 'g' in 'gucken' very hard, like 'kucken'. You don't pronounce other 'g's like that, so maybe it's only when followed by 'u'. Comparing with the pronunciation audio in DWDS and Wiktionary, I don't think it's how most German speakers say it, so I'm thinking it's regional. Not that there's anything wrong with that. A fun way to remember 'gucken' is that 'Guck-guck!' is the German version of 'Peekaboo!' I saw that in a cartoon once and haven't had any problems remembering what 'gucken' means since.
Yes, that's true, the "g" at the beginning is pronounced like a "k". Here is an article about it: www.spiegel.de/kultur/zwiebelfisch/zwiebelfisch-abc-gucken-kucken-a-317866.html I don't know anyone who pronounces it with a k at the beginning and I know people from all over Germany. In the South by the way, they say "schauen" instead of "gucken". The High German verb would be "sehen".
