He's not great against the run from a d-line position but when they line him up as ILB hes one of the best in the league he needs to add a significant amount of weight to be able to set the edge He's actually pretty bad at that....I feel like he's really good at playing ILB or DE but if he wants to be the best he needs to concentrate on 1 position and form his body accordingly.....I've seen him consistently get blocked in the run game by below average blockers..

You say leave him on the edge but that’s the exact opposite of why he’s so great. The offense has to figure out what he’s doing every play and it’s often not the same play to play. If he lined up on the edge every play it would make it easier to gameplan against him
I agree, DQ likely understands the opposing team has to game plan for Micah not blitzing as well. There is a finite time between games and it would be "easier" to gameplan him rushing every play. It would still yield great results, but having Micah elsewhere forces teams to spend a little time planning for that too. A true game wrecker.
100%. Example: One play I remember DLaw lined up at DE and Micah at DT… DLaw cut inside and Micah looped around the edge. Confused the line so much both guys got to the QB.
What I like about Parsons the most is he's at top speed with his first step, watch what he does when he gets off the ball it's crazy how fast he is going right out the get go.
The play that made me realize how fast he is was the play against Taysom Hill where he covered 7-10 yards in a flash for the sack. The start/stop speed is unmatched
Yep. Ware is tenth, maybe 9th, all time in sacks with only 11 seasons. Everyone else in the top ten has more than 14 seasons so Micah has big shoes to fill but I’m guessing he’ll do alright…😂

That would really let the Cowgirls get creative in his they use his otherworldly physical gifts. Also, I do question that take about him revolutionizing the game. No, he isn't the first guy to come in with that kind of size and speed. Ryan Shazier from the Steelers was nearly as big and even faster. Devin White from my Bucs is similarly big and fast. White also has only one sack less than Parsons while playing MLB and many more tackles and passes defensed. So yes, you guys got a hell of a player but he isn't going to break the NFL. You don't have a strong second edge rusher opposite him so OC's are going to start throwing chips and doubles at him nearly every play.

Don't just keep him on the edge, let him play based on what the offense is. He's so versatile leaving him on the edge only is a disservice to his talent. Now, I would like to see him on edge at least 50% of snaps, but mix it up.
He's definitely one of the best defenders in the NFL right now. Aaron Donald, and TJ Watt are right up there with him. I can't think of too many defenders in the secondary that could be considered best overall defender in the NFL. None of today's CBs and Safeties fit the billing even though some of them are very good. EDIT: The last thing he says about Parsons breaking the sack record is silly. He absolutely is capable of doing it, but saying that he probably will because he's on pace after just two games is ridiculous. Chandler Jones had 5 sacks in the season opener last year and to say he should break the record because he's on pace in September is unrealistic. He would have 85 sacks if he kept up that pace. Well, you would also have to take into account that Micah is very low on the list of pass rush attempts. He was like 49th or something after week 2 or 3. To be at the top of sacks and pressures when 48 other guys rush the passer more often than you, is what is so special about those stats.

Parsons has a huge psychological effect on the Oline and QB and play caller by just being on the field. That's tough to quantify, but it's real.

Don't just keep him on the edge, let him play based on what the offense is. He's so versatile leaving him on the edge only is a disservice to his talent. Now, I would like to see him on edge at least 50% of snaps, but mix it up.

He's definitely one of the best defenders in the NFL right now. Aaron Donald, and TJ Watt are right up there with him. I can't think of too many defenders in the secondary that could be considered best overall defender in the NFL. None of today's CBs and Safeties fit the billing even though some of them are very good. EDIT: The last thing he says about Parsons breaking the sack record is silly. He absolutely is capable of doing it, but saying that he probably will because he's on pace after just two games is ridiculous. Chandler Jones had 5 sacks in the season opener last year and to say he should break the record because he's on pace in September is unrealistic. He would have 85 sacks if he kept up that pace. C'mon.

You have to take into account his sacks and pressures are the result of a changed game that is passing on almost every down.
Well, you would also have to take into account that Micah is very low on the list of pass rush attempts. He was like 49th or something after week 2 or 3. To be at the top of sacks and pressures when 48 other guys rush the passer more often than you, is what is so special about those stats.
He got suspended at Penn State for a while and he was also a covid year player so his production stats may not seem high for a player of his. quality.

Strahan and TJ Watt are tied for the official record with 22.5 sacks. Though before it became an official stat in 1982 Al Baker had 23 sacks in 1978 as a rookie. So for me that is the real record to beat.
