Waoh. Knowing this happened in the year my mother was born feels a little strange. These young people are definitely from her parents' generation. Just a little younger though. These people were well read in spite of not having the internet.
This whole series have made me realize that this current generation is in deep problem. The era of technology and social media is doing more harm than good. See what's happening out there, young adults who have a lot of potentials loose interest in their studies. They would prefer to be a TikTok legend than to be a Scholar. See we need to do better, just look at these teenagers dishing out wisdom like this eh. In this 21st century, you hardly ever get to see a lot of teenagers who are highly knowledgeable about history, culture, ethnicity, etc #Readers are Leaders indeed.
Reading opens your mind to so many things. I have even come to realize that there are some things that we think are OK to do. When it's really not and they don't even make sense. It's crazy how we think we have evolved from the 19s and have made a shift in our mindsets when there are a lot of things wrong in our generation that funny enough in a few years or centuries are going to be seen as stupid.
Im Ghanaian and I wish we are as these videos show. It seems somewhere along the line there was a decline in our educational development. Students today of high school or even university age don't have this much knowledge or awareness of the world or debating skills. I'm actually surprised by how well the students of old performed in these videos.
We should bring this back to world culture and TV. I think it might help young kids feel more part of their world in a healthy way and become interested in politics. It also might help the world realize deficits it has through the honesty of its children.
The Ghanians in this series are smart, their faculties of logic and reason are beyond high school. They answered questions which are still relevant today to the average African.

I understand that she is only perpetuating what she’s knows. My comment however specifically is commenting on when the guys said to her “you are afraid” and you could clearly that she heard herself but just kept on; therefore it seemed like denial.
I understand the mess her ancestors put her in. So many are in the fall out of their predecessors.
In every single one of this clips, the South Africans have been very aggressive. A lot makes sense to date
Waoh. Knowing this happened in the year my mother was born feels a little strange. These young people are definitely from her parents' generation. Just a little younger though. These people were well read in spite of not having the internet.
So refreshing to hear opinions based on fact and not ideology. These young minds are free from indoctrination and genuine search of knowledge.
Yes

60 years later, and I got the same Macbeth exam question while attending high school in Australia (2014)
Ghana and Nigeria are the brightest on these series, facts, and so eloquent
Very articulate Ghanaian. I wonder how the black SAs could compete if they kept taking all the scholarships/opportunities.
Ghana all the way💯❤️
This whole series have made me realize that this current generation is in deep problem.
The era of technology and social media is doing more harm than good. See what's happening out there, young adults who have a lot of potentials loose interest in their studies. They would prefer to be a TikTok legend than to be a Scholar.
See we need to do better, just look at these teenagers dishing out wisdom like this eh.
In this 21st century, you hardly ever get to see a lot of teenagers who are highly knowledgeable about history, culture, ethnicity, etc
#Readers are Leaders indeed.
That's the truth
@@MissSally25 you're reading other people's opinions. Hopefully, they include some sort of study that backs their ideas.
Love this dearly 😘
At my age.. Double these kids ages I dnt know half the facts they know. I can't articulate my thoughts half as well as they do. Where did I go wrong?
When the Australian said “Inequality of opportunity”. I though wow….people figured out america a long time ago.
Is that Boris Kojo’s dad?
So true, i wish i sent my son to Africa or Europe for high school. I noticed our kids dont learn much in the USA
These videos give me a good impression about Ghanaian and Nigerian people
Im Ghanaian and I wish we are as these videos show. It seems somewhere along the line there was a decline in our educational development. Students today of high school or even university age don't have this much knowledge or awareness of the world or debating skills. I'm actually surprised by how well the students of old performed in these videos.
@@stylebiabi You are right on point, my friend!
We should bring this back to world culture and TV. I think it might help young kids feel more part of their world in a healthy way and become interested in politics. It also might help the world realize deficits it has through the honesty of its children.
What will it take to bring the youth of today to this level?
I don't think it will happen again with this system
Kids of today are all about money
@@danieldarkwah7763 Don't blame them it the system
Take away internet distractions.
Forget it, they can't even write or speak proper English!
the Australian be haaaarrrrd guy! 😀🔥
The Ghanians in this series are smart, their faculties of logic and reason are beyond high school. They answered questions which are still relevant today to the average African.
You' ve said it all.
The white lady looks uninterested in the African bratha !
Let’s not worry about whether our enemies are interested in us rather let’s be interested in ourselves
Oh you noticed that. I thought I was trying to make that up
The difference in testing between the Australian and the American forms were very interesting
The Ghanaian said tuition cos of about $200 for a year and that is too expensive 🤩
That was back then.$200 was a lot
our ghanaian reps back then year to year didn't disappoint us . proud to be a Ghanaian
I'm impressed with the level of education Ghana had back then so far, every Ghanian in this series proved to be intelligent
In my generation, even in the 90s, it was the same education system.
Why am feeling so uneasy seeing them sit so close together. This COVID-19 social distancing and mask wearing this is causing some stirs in my mind, I mean how? SMH
really proud of the Ghanaian.
I am so proud of the Australian represented here. STRAYA 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇼🇸. South Africa today is totally different to what it was. How things have changed.
Me too... And his comment about salary is true even now 🤯
Yeah the minority European invaders are no longer in power & oppressing & segregating the African Natives
Oh my gosh that girl from South Africa with that hat 🤣😂🤣 I can’t !
Where are they now?
Good to know!
I love their dress, where is Ghana now, Ghanaian dress Ghanaian. today Ghanaian dress.......... where is Ghana now?
Copy copy had been the cause of taste for foreign things. We should be proud of our own
@@eman20100 you say it all. we are our own problem
@@earthychild5258 Yes but how I wish our people will value our own
@@eman20100 me too, but religion has also become a problem to our mistake too
@@earthychild5258 I agree with you. The more modernization in the country, knowledge, wisdom, respect and value has been deteriorating
the OZ and Ghanaian guys have very interesting views
The Australian certainly is very neutral
seeing him makes me think aboriginal were nowhere to be seen . its so odd.
I think the accent in the GoldCoast was different from today’s Ghana probably they mingle with the whites and perhaps they have white teachers, doctors? am the only Ghanaian hearing the sweet GoldCoast accent!👍😆
I've definitely noticed it😀
@@jarazy1232 The accents back then was much clearer.
The American accent back then was different from what it is today too. Accents are social organisms. They evolve. The way your ancestors spoke your native language 150 years ago would have been very different from how you do today.
The same way American accent has also changed. It was closer to British accent then when you listened to the moderator.
You cannot just be interrupting the black kid like that. This concept has been there for a long time.
The south African lady is very mediocre in her thinking hahahaha
In all the videos with SA students, this lady is the one who spoke the real truth motivating the separatism. All the other students were hiding behind helping the Bantus develop and etc.
Good observation. Maybe because she was the first student sent to these televised debates (1954) and in subsequent years the SA government made a point to tell the delegates they were sending about what points they're supposed to hit and how to answer questions?
@@MentalHealthTreatment well that explains a lot.
True
Great observations, also very aggressive and always enforcing their points on people. This guy from Ghana and Boniface handled these debates properly
$200 for school fees a year. Yo! We need to go back in time cause this year 2021 students in USA are in huge student loan debt! Education so costly. I'm glad I got scholarship for my education
You've made me laugh. 1954 $200 is today's approx. $2000. It's called inflation.
That should be Boris Kodjoe's grandfather.
I actually move with Dick in this one. Fear is the reason positvie change is stagnant in South Africa, today that statement still stands.
"we have three already right now, we don't want more" 😂😂
