Grampian had a much more laid-back and humoured attitude towards a Billy Connolly routine about Scottish continuity announcers than STV did! (I uploaded the STV closedown from this night a few years ago).
End of An Audience With Billy Connolly (LWT)
ITV Christmas promo: Monday
Grampian Christmas IVC: Reflections (Grampian)
Grampian optical slides: The Samaritans
Grampian Christmas IVC and clock (12:15am): closing announcement
Footage of Saltire flag flying with UK national anthem
Black and switch off TV warning
Black and silence
Black and tone
Loss of sync with tone at 15:35
Transmitter shutdown at 19:35
"Night night and God bless". How lovely :)
Wowsers, goodnight and God bless, imagine saying that now.
Diana Speed was the Grampian announcer for this one.
5:33 Most controversial National Anthem film (since North Scotland is home to various SNP/Nationalists strongholds)
I’d have thought STV’s was the most controversial as west central Scotland is an SNP hotbed.
What is the hymn playing before and right after Reverend Henny comes on in Reflections?
I wanted her to make the viewers at home jump like billy Connolly said he would 😂😂😂😂
