Agree with Ty about graders notes, the only time we will care about graders notes is those head scratcher cases. I'm sure someone will find a way to exploit it, but otherwise don't see how it could be a negative for the consumer. It's not like Graders Notes are going to invent annoying buyers. On the surface I would say graders notes are a good thing if they are in the right companies hands. From my almost 15 years of sending bulk orders to PSA their consistency is at an all time low. In my opinion they grew too fast and inexperienced graders are on the floor now to get more cards slabbed.
This could be a messy situation from the standpoint of what Jeff said with people snapping out serial numbered cards and getting different notes etc. Cool idea but to get the notes you have to use premium services so its probably another money grab by PSA

Another great video. Thanks guys. Just a few things
    1. Wal-mart - no thanks, as much as I would like a more compeitition for eBay Wal-Mart represents everything that is wrong with corporate America. I might be showing my age, but I remember when Wal-mart's big advertising gimmick was to buy products made in the US. Boy, how that has changed.
    2. PSA Grading notes - I like the idea, but comes as now surprise that PSA has contractrating stances on whether you can share the notes or not. I guess I don't know how PSA can stop the person that owns the card from sharing the notes
    3. Grading vending machines - I don't mind this concept, but I would call it more like a blind bad than a re-pack. Re--packs to me are opened all at the same time and you have an idea what the big hits. Some transparency than a blind bag which usually just guanatees you an auto, mem, or graded card.

What do you guys think of TAG and how they do their grading? I’ve graded a couple cards with them and I liked the service. I also like that it creates a standard with the cards graded as well, less nuance. I feel if PSA is going to go this route on notes then they’re taking a step into some sort of automation in the future. What would the notes have been for that 6 turned into a 10 and which grader was correct? Feels like there’s still a human aspect to something that doesn’t need it.

Walmart is the biggest chain store in America, so using that to expand the hobby is great. As an "investor" as you guys are somewhat, I understand the worry of an avalanche of product.... I started selling them for 9.99$ and flat 2.99$ shipping (for any qty) and to this day, they are still 9.99 with flat 2.99 shipping. The problem with these big companies is they're goal is to scam, squeeze, trick you in to as much money as possible, rather that creating a product that people want. Here’s the REAL problem that PSA has created for themselves with their graders notes: its given collectors the information that they rightly deserve and PSA now has to stand by their grades - and ultimately it’s just going to show what a SHAM grading really is. PSA has how many graders now? What percentage of them are even HALF as qualified to be graders as any of you guys or me, the Blanco Acuna Uber-Believer?? I would bet you any amount of money - this will NOT end well for PSA. They grade way too many cards and have too many graders to have any real rhyme or reason to their grades - and grading notes will just reveal that lamf

I’m sure they’re hoping that their acquisition of Genamint (sp?) a few years back will be able to pick up on re-subbed cards, but I doubt the technology is anywhere close to 100% accuracy in detecting a previously scanned card, and that’s assuming they use Genamint on EVERY submission, which I doubt they do.

How do grading companies know that a Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps that they graded an 8 is truly authentic. Truth is we are going by another's word anyway. I started collecting in the 80s before grading even came along. If you know the card is real then you as the collector do whatever you can to protect the condition of the card.
