Every time I watch these videos I think to myself: "This is scary, but imagine being the FIRST person to ever enter that cave? They had no idea what kinds of twist and turns (or falls) awaited them!
In this specific cave, it was probably very beautiful. It's location near a city and having public access to it has essentially... stripped the cave of its original beauty. Every single formation has been broken off. Still a superfund cave! But for sure, being first would have been scariest and best.
@@CalvinHikes this is nuts

Hahahaha
Hahah nice

"Uncle I only brought these shoes." Well London, they're gunna get destroyed.
This is my favourite channel on youtube. Can't believe how underrated you guys are
Cool. Glad you're here.
"It's no problem"
Voiceover: It would later turn out to be a problem
lmao
That was my favorite line! What it turned out to be was a lot tighter and the vertical descent/assent were challenging with my niece. I had to climb with her on my back through some of it.
@@CalvinHikes oh my gosh, you are a beast! Did you slowly get fit/ become stronger from caving or were you always athletic?
Love that there is secret books deep underground that only a handful of humans will ever get to see
We love it too.
With a little luck, those artifacts will last for thousands of years and tell future humans that we were here.
@@SamM-lv8hr going to think we were cave dwellers for lot longer future historians going to be arguing over it 😂
Usually it’s the tight spaces that get me. But in this one it was London wearing white air force 1s caving!
People love them white shoes! It was all she brought on the trip so we got them pretty dirty but were able to clean them up.
“Look at this, I can go head first”

that was infamous..
Is this the same cave John was in?
@@sunshinesoldier2915 No that was Nutty Putty cave which is sealed off now.
I honestly would love to go there with a caveguide like you who is open to getting more on the map of a cave and exploring more and more of it and you actually are the first ones to address how challenging this is of a cave
cool you guys finally put a hell hole video. this cave is terrifying from all the videos ive watched.
I would describe it as fun but not hard.
Maybe if I was feeling insane one day I would go caving. But when I saw those spiders I was like nope.
"I don't know where we are...but I know how to get back". Lol, love this positivity. Awesome video as always.
It's like being lost in the city. You may not know where you're at but you can probably get home.
I have binge watched nonstop for the past 2 days... Love your episodes man
Thank you so much. Many more to come!
Plan on checking this place out tonight. Thanks for the video it was a huge help
It's a little muddy in the Winter. It's slippery climbing out.
But there isn't any place in there which you need to bring any vertical gear if you are a decent climber. But it's pretty muddy!
*Love to hear how it goes.
@@CalvinHikes was more muddy than we anticipated but was a fun cave. Made it down to the Budda room.
We plan on going back in the future to check out the other areas
My ultimate nightmare, in a youtube channel! Luv this unique content
Thanks yo!
U kick a$$ London! U have some grandé cahunas my man! Love u guys & your videos, they give me all the excitement I can handle in life! I love living vicariously thru y'all! God bless & peace, support & blessings from MD, USA!!
Awesome! I'm glad you made it there, ever since I found your channel I've always wanted to see you make your way through this cave and you made it look like it was nothing, just like I figured you would 👍 I look forward to your return trip!
Thank you! The biggest factors make it a little easier where that it's not a terribly rugged cave and it's much warmer than our lava tubes. But there is vertical so a person needs to climb to be able to get in there.
Otherwise it's also very small compared to caves we are used to. There was maybe a 100 feet (30 m) of crawlway in hellhole. We commonly do over a 1000 feet at a time.
13:38 coming through the Man Trap on your way out you had me in a full-blown claustrophobic panic attack LOL😂
Nice to see even more of the family getting involved! This one I have seen a few times and the vertical had always scared me off.
Your videos are getting better and better, i like how it's narrated now
Thank you!
there is no amount of money that could motivate me to attempt this haha love watching though!
I have watched so many of your videos I think my claustrophobia is cured
There's definitely something to be said for building a tolerance. Even we are less Claustrophobic having gone through so many small caves.
I commend you both for going in there, that cave truly lives up to its name. Awesome video and I look forward to more content.
This man crawling through gaps that shouldn’t be crawled through whilst i’m complaining about not having enough space in the back seat
I have probably watched every hell hole video on UA-cam and I still cringe and twist in my bed as I watch. Idk how anyone does this. It walkways amazes me how they get out the going in part looks like the easier of the two missions but getting out looks so tough! I could never so thanks for letting me experience if through your films
Easiest cave we ever did! Part 2 with my nephew Jacob... we pushed this cave to its limits. It'll make your toe's curl.
@@CalvinHikes thank god cause you will be the first one on the internet to post a good video of pushing this cave. Can I request to make the video longer than your average. Since you will be the first to do so. Thanks the great vids!

Its a girl
I really enjoy watching you guys caving, especially in them tight spots .. Gets my nerves going .. lol
Nice.
I first watches that guy who died at nutty putty, got me really scared for those cave divers..
You make it more entertaining, but i still have my butt clenched watching this from my bed.
Cool. We promise, will always be OK. And we also promise more butt clenching.
its honeslty funny to me how he handles caves. hell be stuck for a moment and say "this is such a fun cave"
Yes we like getting stuck. It's fun and I don't have a better way of explaining it.

WoW between London and Jacob it seems like your entire family doesnt have the claustrophobia bug. ITS amazing to see such young people do this
It's only an assumption that we aren't afraid of small spaces.
Because you didn't see when we were going into caves many years ago and we were afraid of everything. Nobody can do this right off the bat it takes a long time to build-up tolerance.
Except maybe London she never seemed afraid.
@@CalvinHikes Did you use to experience claustrophobia then? This is basically a strong form of cognitive behavioral therapy if so
You should bring a roll up fiber optic camera so you can check down holes they have them at construction stores
So happy I found this channel. My dad and I used to dabble at cave entrances but never to this depth. Awesome! How far into the Earth were you two?
This specific cave is not terribly large. It's rarely more than a 100 feet deep.
“It gets a little tighter, but that’s good.”😭😭
I was concerned the cave would be super boring and easy. Still one of the easier caves I've ever been through. But it did have some tight spots!
@@CalvinHikes what is the hardest cave you have done?
I congratulate you very coldly, I wonder who this lady is your niece.
Yes, she is my wonderful niece.
Put Hell Hole in the title for the algo!
OK. The algo put this pretty high already.
@@CalvinHikes Awesome! You deserve it. :)
If you made it that far down, put up any art you want. A very huge minority of people will ever see it. Props to the artist. Props to the folks who actually see it too
Memories y’all will remember forever
This is just a regular Tuesday!
outstanding thank you both :
Thank you and you are welcome.
This is a beginner friendly cave? Seems like the most dangerous cave you've featured on the channel
It's just popular on UA-cam for some reason. It's definitely got some tight spaces but I would not consider this consider this a terribly dangerous cave. It's got a good room temperature and it's nice smooth rocks. And it's partially developed with ropes and it's generally public which means people are going to find you if for some reason you got stuck.
I'm sure Jake will love exploring that cave!!
What he will love is that it's not freezing cold! We found that to be the biggest difference. It's so comfortable and such an easy environment to deal with.
You’ll are crazy as hell. I’ve never been so anxious ways video lol
Man ill give it to you and your son im a man thats not scared of much but just watched all your videos and I couldn’t do it id freak out snd panic but you guys handle it like savages like to see more but only ftom safety of my couch
Count Olaf strikes again
I love to go cave scuba diving but for some reason this freaks me out. Maybe because my scuba gear gives me an excuse to avoid extreme restrictions. Plus underwater caves have been eroded by water flow making them usually spacious and smooth. The restrictions in this hole are nightmarish and long.
Nice
I recently went through a constructive underwater lava tube just by holding my breath. And the water was freezing!
ua-cam.com/video/gVmZD8Axa8U/v-deo.html
Nice man glad yall made it and glad everything went well
I love watching knowing that I will never do nothing like this
Come on Lauren let's go caving.
If u give me a million dollars I'll never try this never ever you guys are Beyond well done great job
Thank you. Unfortunately, we do not have a million dollars to offer anyone.
Do you know of anyone that needed some tranquilizers in order to calm down?
Probably if you need downers then claustrophobic caving is not for you. Most cavers that do this, which are very few, are super chilled out.
I love this cave
Nice! I've been wanting to see you navigate this.
Thanks 4 the video
You're welc.
Them air forces are really bad for caving but drip is more than safety
She was like, "these are the only shoes I brought."
Wow! I remember TFIL channel exploring that cave (albeit quite amateurish).
Cool. Its a pretty simple cave. Public, essentially, which is why so many folks can find and exolore it. But fun.
damn the girl be creasing them af1’s
Why anyone finds this fun is beyond me.
05:35 i had always wondered, even though i dont think I'll ever try hellhole, is how easily would my body fit through the birthing canal and the corkscrew. My built is a little smaller than her as well lol, good to knos i would just slide in the cave 😂
Great video! I think I’d be ok with ending in the party room 😂
That's definitely the most popular room. Although, one of the toughest squeezes is before you get to the party room.
@@CalvinHikes in that case I might not even make it to the party! Lol 😂

I’m glad I never tried going in here when I’ve passed it, I would have been completely unprepared. Have you gone through porter caves? I only ever went a few openings deep but always heard rumors that it goes very deep.
Imagine if your lights died...
In this video, among other things, we talk about flashlights going out!
ua-cam.com/video/Ax-y_rW3cNE/v-deo.html
nice sticker on the helmet xD
Apparently there is a couch built down there but nobody has filmed it I really want to see it
I have not seen anything like that. It's very muddy at the bottom so it's possible anything constructed could be smashed pretty quickly.
We made a return trip with Jacob and made it to the very back of the cave and filmed some things I do not believe are on video anywhere. That video comes out in about one week.
I'll watch from the safety of my home lol
lmao she did this in air force ones what a goat
Yes! The only shoes she brought. Now we just need a Nike sponsorship.
Nope , nope , nope! Won’t ever do this
Amazing content, I couldn't do this.
I imagine that the ropes are not for going down (although that is helpful) but for going up.
They are just a hot mess of being in the way. In my opinion this cave would be a whole lot better without any of this trash in there but... It's a public cave... people bring stuff in and just leave it.
They are just a hot mess of being in the way. In my opinion this cave would be a whole lot better without any of this trash in there but... It's a public cave... people bring stuff in and just leave it.
Hello! Love all of your content man! I have a question that terrifies me to ask, what’s the procedure if your mid cave and someone slips and breaks there back?
I don't usually see markings in the caves but on this one I noticed the green arrows, what your thoughts on marking the caves?
No one should ever mark inside a cave for any reason. Since that is a difficult idea to "enforce", caves are simply kept private.
Hell hole is public. But since it is difficult, there is only a bit of paint inside. Most public caves are generally trashed and full of paint. This is unfortunate but is easy to prevent by keeping caves private. The caves we frequent do not have markings inside because they are private.
And for the record the ratio of private to public caves is about a 1000 to 1. For every public cave there is approximately 1,000 private/hidden ones.
Did you go up to the attic area?
I did on the return trip with Jacob. We were trying to "push" the cave.
Don’t get stuck jacob
Love this channel! Have you ever been to any caves in the salt lake area of Utah?
No but I have GPS points to several of them! Just them from a viewer on the channel. I would expect we will visit some of them this year.
Can you name any of them for me? We are always collecting locations if possible.
@@CalvinHikes I’m not too sure of any that are too close to salt lake other than Timpanogos Cave but that one is not very fun because you have to have a guide. I’ve heard that the Bloomington Cave in Saint George is pretty cool and challenging if you guys ever wanted to check that one out
hey man how tall are you? i’m 6’1 and kinda interested in caving but i’m also hesitant because i’m the same dimensions as the person who died in the nutty putty cave. thanks!
Why didn't you show the ledger that you found in there showing all the other people who made it there? I would be interested.
It's probably been there a long time period many public caves have ledgers.
Last time I looked it had a big salamander living underneath it.
NO.
It was 999 likes and 9 dislikes when i clicked this video.
Which did you choose?
@@CalvinHikes 1000 like 😁
Just saying but In other videos they blur the amo box because it is like only a thing cavers that went down there can see because they went thought the cave and tights squeezes
That's interesting. It may be the reason others are blurring it. But I don't know. It's a public cave and it's easy to get into. I suppose in a way it is reward for those who make it there but it's just not special enough to try to hide in my opinion.
Only people who make it in can sign in. So there's that.
NO WAY IM UP AT 4 AM LAST NIGHT THINKING WHY HAVENT THEY BEEN TO THE HELL HOLE!??????
This is the first cave we've gone to based on the recommendations from our viewers.
@@CalvinHikes have you guys heard of Blue Crawl? i believe it’s in mexico so it would be a trip and a half lol
really curious to see what else is there in the hell hole, seems pretty big
It's really the perfect size cave. It has its challenges but if somebody is up for a fun little adventure most people can probably get through.
Having gone back with Jacob we were able to squeeze out one of the back rooms and find a huge pillar formation.
@@CalvinHikes wow! this sounds really cool but please stay safe ya'll. i actually kind of liked squeezing my way through narrow passages as a kid but i don't think i could do it as an adult now, maybe normal sized caves with somewhat narrow passages but you guys are killing it!
have a nice day and future adventures, i keep following.
Where were the London's when I was comin up?
Lol. I'll let her know.
In the AIR FORCE?
This looks insane :D
Is she climbing in airforces ..?
Yes
Your you are to up yourself !!!!!
At 8:57, is that what I think it is on the wall? lol
LOL London underground 🚇
I am currently with London at this cave, once again. And in the Winter it turns out, it's a giant mud pit!
What if someone blocked the hole or cut the ropes
Cutting ropes is called murder. But I have my own gear and could get out.
The birthing canal? Isn’t that the one that John Jones was trying to get to?
Its a popular name for small cave passages. So multiple caves are likely to have a "birthing canal." ; )
WHYYYYYYY 😭😭😭😭
What if you lose the way back
Then we die?
@@CalvinHikes oof L
Have you ever got scared before enter the cave?
I'm always afraid! A little bit of healthy fear keeps us safe.
Why did you wedge yourself at the top ? To train ? Extension is key to not hyperventilating and freaking out. This cave seems to be a little beyond novice aswell.
This is a novice cave. That doesn't mean a person can be unathletic. But there's so many ropes and the cave is relatively small and comfortable. That's why I took my 13 year old niece.
