Movie pitch. Modern Robin Hood movie where he hacks Jeff Bezos' bank account and pays off my student loans. Maybe he shoots and arrow at Bezos space ship and it crashes
A modern Robin hood movie would involve a bunch of ex military guys with a some sizable bank accounts walking up to corporations and big government and saying "get out" under the threat of a repeat of the battle of Athens but on the capital buildings front step. Though, they'd Def but heads with Bezos and the guy who owns twitter....and the NYT
For all the libertarians here, Robin Hood is anarcho-socialist not anarcho-capitalist. He redistributed wealth from the rich to the poor and the Mary Men were a horizontally organized militia.
He got pissed that the government (damn feds) stole his land and started literally robbing the people of England, so he went armed militia mode and started stealing tax money from the estate and gave it back to the people of England. Cause taxation is theft, obviously. He never ounce robed a tavern owner, merchant or even a man of faith who might have been "to rich"
This is a great build my only suggestion is that if you wanted to focus on the influence of the movie robin hoods from the films made before the first Disney film you should get tavern brawler since RH frequently resorted to using a chair as weapon in multiple early adaptions to the point where it was deliberately referenced in the first disney film. Its kinda terrible with this build but still fun you know
TIL Riposte on a Rogue (especially Swashbuckler) is great because you would get your Sneak Attack damage on the AOO. I really, really want to try that now.
You can kinda pull it off with incarnate construct warforged lycanthropes in 3.5 D&D. Warforged in that edition have all their construct perks attached to their (living construct) subtype. Incarnate construct doesn't touch subtypes and gives you two extra levels to play with. Warforged armor is tied to feats, so you take an armor feat to be living machinery. Lycanthropes cost three levels and let you turn into an animal, but your feats function while these animals. This means your animal form is armored up. End result is you play a Beast Wars transformer character as if they were level 2+, and go from there.
Great video! I want to vote for a John Walker build. Some may claim that it would just be an updated version of the Steve Rogers version, but I think the two have enough differences that it would be interesting to see.
Robin Hood! I've considered building him before so my guess for the build will just be what I considered. Most levels are in Battle master fighter, which gets you the raw damage as well as tricksy tactics to use, some levels in Swashbuckler Rogue to add sneak attack and even more damage and dodging, and finally Hunter ranger for even MORE damage with favored enemy and hunters mark along with being good in forests and what not.
I love how Tulok videos really highlight that the Ranger class is still in need of revision. Everything the Ranger should be good at, another class does it better. A druid multiclassed with a fighter or a rogue would basically be the ultimate Ranger, no Ranger levels required. They need to completely overhaul the Ranger class (not just an update to make it a little better than bad, but a true ground-up reworking that compares better to other classes).
@@rmcphail2007 The only reason I would vote against that is that there are enough Ranger subclasses that people still want to play, making the Ranger a Fighter subclass would make it a lot harder to work those other subclasses into that subclass. I'd personally rather see the class fixed rather than absorbed.
No one gonna mention Fate/Extra's Robin Hood as an Archer Servant? Dang... Oh well, just another build Tulok may make in the future. Probably mostly Rogue or Ranger, with some sort of way to cast Invisibility for No Face May King and some sort of way to deal ridiculous amounts of Poison damage so he can get the most out of Yew Bow.
Robin Hood, steals from the rich, gives to the poor, has a colleague known as Little John. Well, he is a decent deceiver and can cause his fair share of problems for a ruler. Said ruler is dethroned and a better ruler makes way... huh, a bit of an Uncle Iroh stretch! An Uncle Iroh build, the people love him as much as the populace of England (was it?) loves Robin Hood.
@@thenethersheep5963 Yeah, that's partly why the ranger feels weaker than it could. I really want to like it, but it feels way more situationally useful than it should be. If you want to be sneaky? Rouge. Want to use a bow or just hit things well? Fighter. Want to attack from a distance with a bow but also want magic? Arcane Trickster or Bard. It's almost a jack of all stats class which fails to excel in that. Basically: It's a cool concept, I just wish the main draw came with less strings attached.

Yes but modern corporate mercantilism is indistinguishable from the system of titled "nobles" and "lords" of the day. It's an important distinction between private tax evasion of capitalism and ruling class tax evasion of corporate mercantilism.
@@ixelhaine I'd argue not every capitalist is equivalent to a noble. The guy who owns a bakery or a café is far from being a noble. I'd even argue that any big company CEO is completely different from a noble. For one, you are not obligated to work for him and two, even if you worked for him you still recieved a salary. Farmers of old were obligated to relinquish their harvest because the lord declared the ownership of the land. The farmers could only eat the minimum necessary to keep farming. Of course paying taxes then and paying taxes now is very different, but i still find funny the comparison between the nobility and the bourgeoisie, when It should be between the nobility and the state.
@@oggolbat7932 I didn't say that capitalists were equivalent to nobles, I said corporate mercantilism is functionally equivalent to nobles, in that they have a relationship with the State of mutual empowerment as the Ruling Class to the exploitation of the Working Class. Capitalism, by definition, is the control of the means of production outside the State/Ruling Class dynamic. are there semantic differences between classical mercantilism and modern corporate mercantilism? Yeah.... But does it really change anything? Not really.
@@ixelhaine Feudalism and capitalism are VERY different things, you can't just say that it doesn't change anything. Firstly, capitalism allows the collective owning of means of production. You can perfectly make a business in equal parts and divide the benefits equally between all the workers. It just doesn't happen because is very difficult to convince 30 people to go all or nothing in a business that they have to spend their money and time on, and success is not guaranteed. Secondly, feudalism doesn't allow peasants to ascend in the social hierarchy, it didn't matter how strong, intelligent, or expert in its craft a farmer was, it could never stop being a peasant. But in capitalism you can ascend in the social hierarchy, as well as descend if you don't manage well your money or you're simply unlucky. Of course capitalism isn't perfect, but is a great improvement from feudalism.

He has! As has Cat Zorro, Puss in Boots!
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 you did both the human and cat forms of the Zorro!
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 you could instead have taken quick toss as a battlemaster maneuver to give a extra bonus action ranged attack with a weapon with the thrown property
Ive been building up this build for almost a year now. I am currently level 13 and absolutely love this build. Fennec Fitztooth demolishes every encounter without even getting scratched.
Seeing a game changers clip was such a weird moment to me because it made me realize other people watched that show and remembered dropout is a huge streaming service
I like this build, I’ve been wanting to play an archer for some time.
Movie pitch. Modern Robin Hood movie where he hacks Jeff Bezos' bank account and pays off my student loans. Maybe he shoots and arrow at Bezos space ship and it crashes
Shoots arrows at keyboard to type when he's hacking
A modern Robin hood movie would involve a bunch of ex military guys with a some sizable bank accounts walking up to corporations and big government and saying "get out" under the threat of a repeat of the battle of Athens but on the capital buildings front step. Though, they'd Def but heads with Bezos and the guy who owns twitter....and the NYT
For all the libertarians here, Robin Hood is anarcho-socialist not anarcho-capitalist. He redistributed wealth from the rich to the poor and the Mary Men were a horizontally organized militia.
peasant 1: whatsat 'bout a librarian? They're arachnophobes?
peasant 2: Nah, sumptin about Rich's well pourin' a whore's orphan.
Merry men*
@@ssjbread2803 oh thanks. I've always struggled with spelling because of my dysgraphia.
@@dunedain3425 I'm not necessarily talking about the original myth, more so the cultural idea of Robin Hood.
Nice video! Zorro was mentioned in the content, and I would appreciate a video on Zorro. Thanks!
I really, really want to try that now.
same thing with Sentinel on a rogue.
I really can't wait for the Hasbro backed Transformers ttrpg. Why, because you really can't get that with 5e warforged
True, but there are fantastic Cybertronian player race homebrews out there!
You can get the Beast Wars versions :)
Swap over to Spycraft 2.0, the Transmech setting is pretty much what you want there.
Warforged Druid anyone?
Finally the furry we all need in our lives.
I knew you're gonna go custom lineage the moment I remembered Disney Robin Hood exists. Me so smort.
Great video! I want to vote for a John Walker build. Some may claim that it would just be an updated version of the Steve Rogers version, but I think the two have enough differences that it would be interesting to see.
John Walker is a tool
@@cteal2018 I agree, that's kind of the point of his character.
How many classes does it take to make a good archer?
Tulok: ALL OF THEM!
No clips from Prince of Thieves.
0/10
Just playin Tulok great build as always
Archer joke in the Robin Hood build nice, get it in there! Phrasing.
I would still like to see Aeon Flux, Eric Draven (Crow), Blade, Vampire Hunter D, and Solomon Kane builds.
Now that the Dpampir exists in 5e Vampire Hunter D would be a really cool build.
Which Aeon Flux?
@@JaelinBezel The Animated one.
We love a Game Changer clip in the intro ❤❤❤
I love how Tulok videos really highlight that the Ranger class is still in need of revision. Everything the Ranger should be good at, another class does it better. A druid multiclassed with a fighter or a rogue would basically be the ultimate Ranger, no Ranger levels required. They need to completely overhaul the Ranger class (not just an update to make it a little better than bad, but a true ground-up reworking that compares better to other classes).
Or eliminate the ranger class and make it a fighter subtype.
@@rmcphail2007 The only reason I would vote against that is that there are enough Ranger subclasses that people still want to play, making the Ranger a Fighter subclass would make it a lot harder to work those other subclasses into that subclass. I'd personally rather see the class fixed rather than absorbed.
With this build I can deal with those pesky landlords...maoby
I'd like to see how you'd tackle Bomb King from Paladins? A sentient bomb that chucks smaller bombs at people.
warforged evocation sorcerer with some other explosive stuff??
I’d prefer to see Maeve, but Bomb King would be fun to figure out.
Noticeably absent is Prince of Thieves footage. My poor 90s child heart.
Love seein my name in the title card
No one gonna mention Fate/Extra's Robin Hood as an Archer Servant? Dang...
Oh well, just another build Tulok may make in the future. Probably mostly Rogue or Ranger, with some sort of way to cast Invisibility for No Face May King and some sort of way to deal ridiculous amounts of Poison damage so he can get the most out of Yew Bow.
I love the Game Changer in the opening! yes!!! very good reference!
I love your channel keep up the hard work
Robin Hood, steals from the rich, gives to the poor, has a colleague known as Little John.
England isn't real tho
@@dumpsterfire6992 Neither is Tlaxcala.
Ooooooo this look very fun
Edit: do more of these please
This Robin Hood fellow sounds great
I love is mismatch of different Robin hood movies
On Riposte you get [weapon damage]+STR or DEX+[Collosus Slayer]+[Superiority Die]+[Sneak Attack]
I am slightly disappointed that there was no Robin Hood Daffy Duck footage in the background. YOINKS, AND AWAY! *THUD*
I'm guessing scout or theith rogue.
Edit: Okay, I expected rogue and ranger, but not fighter.
I expected rogue and fighter, not ranger.
@@SH-qs7ee I figured ranger was an option, he lives in the forest, and hunts. He deered to kill a king's dare, after all.
Surprisingly fighters are some of the best bow and arrow users in the game
@@thenethersheep5963 Yeah, that's partly why the ranger feels weaker than it could. I really want to like it, but it feels way more situationally useful than it should be. If you want to be sneaky? Rouge. Want to use a bow or just hit things well? Fighter. Want to attack from a distance with a bow but also want magic? Arcane Trickster or Bard. It's almost a jack of all stats class which fails to excel in that.
Basically: It's a cool concept, I just wish the main draw came with less strings attached.
@@thenethersheep5963 Not overly surprising; they are the class that were designed to be weapon experts after all.
Well, he wears green, so this is still a tiny bit closer to the Godzilla build I want
Love this Boi, eats the rich, helps the poor. Honestly the most effective vigilante for the modern world in a way, imagine if we all rose up to take down the corrupt corporations, ha ha jk… unless 🤔
How did you know I used to play kistune archer fighter?
After this, I kinda wanna see a Strength-based version.
Instead of Robin Hood, it would be HUNT-HUNT-HUNT, HE'S THE HUNTSMAAAAANN...INTO ACTION IS HIS CRYYYY!

My only disappointment is the lack of scenes from Robin of Sherwood, one of the best Robin Hood adaptations IMO.
I was also disappointed to not see clips from Robin Hood 2006. I really enjoyed what I got to watch out of it.
ha, wow.
I was not expecting a Game Changer clip.
Technically thieves tools open locks- believe me I used sleight of hand for it for years until I realized it specifically had a use for that tool set, which is why rogues can get expertise on thieves tools.
Friar Tuck: Which class makes the best archer?
Will Scarlett: Rogue?
Little John: Ranger?
Azeem: Fighter?
Robin Hood: Yes!
Is there already a best swordsman video? Because that would be hype
I've been looking forward to this.
can we get Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul? I imagine he'd be a simic hybrid fiend warlock/ beast barbarian.
I just ran across an anime called Beastars a few days ago and I kinda want to see a build based on Legoshi.
Qrow from rwby
Variant human with the lucky feat (bad luck for your enemies)
Mercenary background
Start as a paladin and get the great weapon fighting style (qrow's buster sword is defiantly a great sword and his scythe is a glaive)
Now over to warlock specificity raven queen you gain the ability to become a raven at 6th level also get the invocation armour of shadows for qrow's arua
The rest of this build will be paladin going into vengeance paladin
Please do the Big O
Did anyone else notice Tulok went from level 3 Ranger to level 5 Ranger?
you left out the best part of this multiclass. with riposte you apply sneak attack because it's once per turn not round
Thematically, you should of started fighter then multiclassed into scout rogue.
Sure, not as powered but Robin Wood was a trained soldier who returned home to find his lands taken and people oppressed so he turned to brigandy.
Never mind Robin Hood, I want a profile of the giant chicken woman
I toyed with the idea of a druid ranger Robin Hood
2:05 where my King Raven boys at?
Fun Fact: Robin Hood stole from the king's tax collectors, making him the patron of tax evaders
@@oggolbat7932
I didn't say that capitalists were equivalent to nobles, I said corporate mercantilism is functionally equivalent to nobles, in that they have a relationship with the State of mutual empowerment as the Ruling Class to the exploitation of the Working Class.
@@oggolbat7932
Yeah, that's EXACTLY why I said that they were different.
Why are you agreeing with me in such an argumentative tone?
Aight hear me out: Larryboy from veggietales

It just occurred to me by "Custom Lineage" you mean you can pick any race you want and not a homebrew a race.
Build request: Sadako Yamamura from the ring
If you ever have time it would be cool to see Simon from Gurren Lagann as a pc. I predict that it would be fighter (Rune knight) + artificer (Armorer). Of course if you want to bring mecha into dnd that would work with almost any mecha
Ah, him.... I like his hat

Who else wants him to make Ratchet and Clank? I want to build the RYNO V in D&D, even if I have to multiclass Bard!
Hmm
Tabaxi or halfling?

I think Tulok would go Wizard because what is a gun if just a spell with components and recharge times. Following that logic I think the RYNO would be Meteor Swarm
