Someone wrote in my history textbook "listen to furr by Blitzen Trapper" and now I'm here. It was a fun adventure. Thank you stranger from past history classes.
Now I wanna write this in a text book
Haha, nice
that's awesome hahaha
Aren't there names written in the front of the book- that might help narrow it down a bit...
Listen to Tommy with a candle burning.
this song is so comforting. it feels like summer, childhood, dream, nostalgia and an afternoon. i love this song so much
still feels like that ^^
Perfect description
Not for everyone
Another wonderful song I discovered rewatching Chuck. Man, whoever chose the music throughout the show is a genius
Best romance in tv history imho and best soundtrack. Even though first two and half seasons are much better than the second two and half seasons.
@@MoliikCZE I agree, especially the fifth season was not as far as good as the first ones
My high school teacher played this to teach us about existentialism and now im hooked on the band, how awesome is that!
Just saw this live, completely unexpectedly at the Woodland Park Zoo. Blitzen Trapper opened for The Mountain Goats, and I didn't even know there was going to be an opening band. It was a wonderful performance, made me cry.
Whenever I sing this to my daughter, she falls asleep almost instantly ♡
No hyperbole, this quite possibly is and will be the greatest lyrics ever written. I had no ideal who Blitzen Trapper were stumbled over to hear it live in Charleston SC at High Water Music festival...blown away.
I could not agree more.
Chuck brought me here! One of the series with the best music!
Same.
me too
So true
Bro is it chuck carpenter dog
My fellow buy morons
Sounds like a Crosby, Stills, and Nash song! I love music like this! They need to bring music like this back! I love folk and country music!!
I get Dylan
@@maddymud Yes, Dylan. That's exactly what I was thinking. Can't be CSN without the 3 part harmonies.
………………………..it is back. ……..you’re listening to it.
An ex-partner introduced me to this song in 2011. I was living in Alaska at the time, and she and I weren't dating quite yet. I liked it then, and I like it now. We haven't spoken aloud since 2016 - it was messy, and I won't get into it here - but I still remember some of the good times, and this song is part of that. Music was a passion we shared.
My band gets to open for these guys next week!! Super excited!!
How did it go?
Yeah what happened
how was it?!
Lol, it's almost 7 years ago, hope he remembers.
Hope it went well
Tomorrow I turn 23 and I grew up under a dogwood tree :''))) my younger sis showed me this song a couple years ago and I randomly put it on yesterday night on coincidence !! Every song she has shown me has extra significance and emotion since she's moved to another state but this it felt just so comforting and just neat cuz of timing
Chuck Vs. The Delorean! YEAH!
Saw these guys in Seattle last night. They played this song at the Paramount Theatre, and that was an amazing experience. I've been stuck on the song since. Such great imagery and soul in this song. Love it.
Heard it once on JJJ in Melbourne Australia and was blown away by it. The imagery is awesome and I'm 62 and have written pop songs all my life...
The message behind this song is great
It's taken me a decade to find this song again!
Same here !
"My thoughts they surely were turned to instinct and obedience to god" what a great damn line
Fock obedience to everyones imaginary overlord
I love that line, it's so perfect
Right?!?!
yo I haven't heard this song since I myself was 17, completely forgot this band existed. so grateful rn.
Been following the fellaz for yearz thanks to my pops who was a friend of them. They signed a poster to him while he was going through Chemo which was a loving gesture. Overtime I've seen many shows in many cities and towns and had a many late nights with them afterward. Some as many as 11 yrs ago. One of the fondest was a raging drunk in Tucson while living there a few years back because pops was there too. I had great after show in Portland with them after my sons birth in 2017. I gotta say there's not a more humble group of guys doing it now days. Love y'all. Especially Party 🥳 Marty aka Marty Party. Cheers boys when this whole bullshit pandemic is over we will have many rounds and tokes for tales.
This song makes my heart smile.
I love this band. I feel like they are something I could share with my mother.
"instinct and obedience to god". what a perfect line.
Anyone who stumbles on these words can watch 2020 Mulan
She had a knack and that's what would make any of our lives easier in this world
@@PGouges35 mulan 2020 is trash
I still love this song, 13 years later
blitzen trapper and elliot smith's work will be in the catalog of bedtime songs to sing my daughter to sleep with.
thank you chuck
I turned 23 today so I made a point of listening to this song.
I heard this in a coffee shop the other day, and I've been hooked since
Dad, can you make it a double scoop? .. Sure darling.
I remember being 17 and listening to this..
Now I am 28.
Heard this on Chuck (s.2 ep. 10), it's wonderful :)
I heard this back in American Eagle back in 2009 and HAD to download it... Safe to say, I've been hooked ever since! Working in PacSun especially, I found so so so many incredible, underrated, underground indie artists over the five years I worked there from 2008-2013. It was probably the best part of working there. Not to mention, surprisingly enough, I got to meet a lot of bands/artists -- most excitingly was Saosin (the Anthony Green era) (also my scene/emo era) so you can imagine how happy I was. Great times. And not only did I discover a lot of underground artists working at PacSun, but since I spent so much time in a mall, I was constantly able to discover other underground artists when their music played in other stores. Fantastic. (Look up artists like Bright Eyes, A Fine Frenzy, The Format, + The Forecast if you're into this type of music and trying to branch out!) 💜💜💜
Amanda Falcone so you still at PacSun?
Mick Funny unfortunately not anymore ☹️
Yeah, when I was only 17
I could hear the angels whispering
So I droned into the words and wondered aimlessly about
Until I heard my mother shouting through the fog
It turned out to be the howling of a dog
Or a wolf to be exact
The sound sent shivers down my back
But I was drawn into the pack and before long
They allowed me to join in and sing their song
So from the cliffs and highest hill
Yeah, we would gladly get our fill
Howling endlessly and shrilly at the dawn
And I lost the taste for judging right from wrong
For my flesh had turned to fur, yeah
And my thoughts, they surely were
Turned to instinct and obedience to God
You can wear your fur
Like the river on fire
But you better be sure
If your makin' God a liar
I'm a rattlesnake, babe
I'm like fuel on a fire
So if you're gonna' get made
Don't be afraid of what you've learned
On the day that I turned 23
I was curled up underneath a dogwood tree
When suddenly a girl, her skin the color of a pearl
She wandered aimlessly but she couldn't seem to see
She was listenin' for the angels just like me
So I stood and looked about
I brushed the leaves off of my snout
And then I heard my mother shouting through the trees
You should have seen that girl go shaky at the knees
So I took her by the arm
We settled down upon a farm
And raised our children up as gently as you please
And now my fur has turned to skin
And I've been quickly ushered in
To a world that I confess I do not know
But I still dream of running careless through the snow
And through the howlin' winds that blow
Across the ancient distant flow
And fill our bodies up like water till we know
But you can wear your fur
Like the river on fire
But you better be sure
If your makin' God a liar
I'm a rattlesnake, babe
I'm like fuel on a fire
So if you're gonna' get made
Don't be afraid of what you've learned
So I drove into the woods and wandered aimlessly about
Brilliant lyrics & performance! Very petty/dylan-esque 👍👍
*Drove into the winds*
It's been so long that I honestly thought this song was a freshman year fever dream. Happy to be proven wrong.
this song is beyond amazing. lyrics, singing, and melody are simply stunning.
chuck!! this song is so beautiful
it was on 'chuck' like a year ago.thematically this song goes very well with 'out in the streets' by the shangri-las-give that a listen boys and girls.
This song makes me cry.
Anybody here because they heard this song in Chuck?
Best song ever. Period.
2020 and still loving it in lockdown
It took me half an hour to remember the name of this song! My English teacher played it in class years ago and it was soo good, really glad I took the time to find it again.
this song makes me wanna go venture out into the forest alone during the middle of winter
If you get the chance I HIGHLY recommend doing that in Boulder Colorado in the summer...walk the Boulder Creek path up into the foot hills. I spent the summer there and it changed my Life...such a healer😁❤️
@@royowen6329 I can't wait to be able to travel through the country and find so many beautiful places
Chuck, forever !
chuck is the best tv show ever
abdul aziz Absolutely
chuck ♥♥♥♥
Chuck forever
The reason I'm watching this video/listening is because of my best friend james Mcintyre, who is now graduated from my school and is currently attending a distant university. I am now in my Senior year and i miss him very much. He used to play this song in the car (across country roads) on the way to school everymorning. Now this song just instigates powerful nostalgia and i miss my bro. :.)
This song is a summary of 2009-2013 for me.
same
same that was my peak years
It makes me feel like i'm looking back on the summer, all nostalgic like!
I'm here in 2022 enjoying this song... because I'm watching First love - Netflix-episode 8. Who else?💕🥰💕
The happiest day of my life was the one I discovered this song!
First Love brought me here.
me too!
I sew a bunch of rats to a quilt, all this furr got me feeling like Cruella De'Vil
I heard this song, and loved it. I then heard this song on skins, and loved it even more.
Favourite werewolf song by far!!!
This video is really pretty. God only knows how long it took them to make this. The artwork is beautiful and animation like movements are all really well done. This is one of the more really pretty music videos.
Chuck indeed. Alo anyone?
This song is way underrated - only 500,000 views?? Are you kidding! Fucking love it ;)
CHUCK PLEASE COME BACK!!
This is well done - in all ways. So much good music, so little time. Rats !
I got 20 seconds in.....YES! I Love this song!
Thumbs up if discovering a song from a TV show doesn't make you less of a music fan it just makes others seem pretentious and like they don't want the artist at hand to be successful.
My best song from this awesome band !
Don't know who Chuck is. Been listening to this song for many many years. Heard it on KHUM radio 10 years ago. Miss those California Days.
I realize I'm showing up here a year late, but I just thought you should know, Chuck is a show that aired in the late 2000's. The entire series had a spectacular soundtrack choice and this particular song appeared in season 2. It was a great show and I highly recommend giving it a try. It's free on Amazon prime video right now.
It's the best show ever
Missing Some Days Of My Own As Well Mate.
Think I get what you mean / meant.
I'm here because Sam on the Big Brother live feeds was trying to remember how the melody went. Very enjoyable music!
Me too. I like them.
Me too!
As an actual werewolf these comments always make my day.
Aces Charles Aces!
I get a road trip vibe from this song, like I want this to play when I drive up for college visits :)
Makes me cry every time
same not sure why
Me too
these guys are amazing! im 59 and this is the first day i listened to them.so musical and interesting.
This makes me feel young again. I thank you.
If you're gonna get made, dont be afraid of what you've learned.
I don't know what it is about this song that totally makes sense
I can't stop listening to this song - so beautiful.
Such a nostalgic song. :)
I sewed a bunch of rats to a quilt.
All dis furr got me feeling like Cruela DeVil.
This is how I found this song and I'm not ashamed to admit.
Favorite song from when I was seven. THIS CAME OUT WHEN I WAS SEVEN.
Furr makes me purrr
relates a lot to me does this song, it will always have a place in my heart
Great song great video great band. All in all Blitzen Trapper is just awesome.
I never realized how mean this line sounded:
"Til I heard my mother shouting through the fog. It turned out to be the howling of a dog"
hahaha.
I know I’m replaying to a 9 year old comment but fuck it. It’s a line about how he felt the “calling” to become “wild”. He realizes that this call is from his fellow human companions, and realizes how wild they are. At first, he feels uncomfortable, but he eventually “fits in”
His (our) mother is Nature.
I love listening to this song at x1.25.
i became obsessed with this song the first time i heard it! I'm so excited I finally found it!!
If they ever make a movie version of Adventure Time let this be in the movie!
Very good guitars and voices! TOP!
I can't listen to this song without getting teary and I can't figure out why.
I feel that it hits the Soul...brings you back to our roots doesn't it? Reminds of what's real and where we come from
thanks skins ...
some of the best music around is the stuff you'll hear in the background on tv shows... don't bitch because you "heard it first".... just be happy for the artist that's getting heard more
i saw the video of nat wolff covering this song years ago and ever since then ive been in love with it.
Skins 3 gen! Thank you for ever Alo
Isn't it an incredible melody?
This song gave me the feels. You KNOW I dont like the feels.
Lichtenstein brought me here but it seems I'm missing my wallet
Mel Bo i trust you

I've fallen in love with Blitzen Trapper now.
Thank you MTV! haha
It's really beautiful song
I was looking for this song ever since I heard it in my art class back in September. Finally just heard it on Life As Liz and almost died with happiness. =D
Chuck brought me here 😍😍
