So as a true Christian we deserve respect. funky if you want to live you life in sin that between you and God. So if pastor speaks out about song he doesn't agree with he has the right to do so. Thank you, a lot of us real church girls are offended by Beyonce's song. It is such disrespect to God who I know by experience can keep you. That song does not describe any of the church girls I know.
The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. Proverbs 4: 19. African Americans have been blessed to overcome many obstacles in this country and achieve many levels of success. But many of us are stumbling in the dark and love it !! it is disturbing how many can ingest and promote the immorality, foul language that many successful Black artists expouse particularly to the youth of today. I agree wholeheartedly with Bishop Wooden on this matter. We have to see when the things of God are being insulted or misused. Keep preaching the truth! This message was RELEVANT. Our young people need to know what is NOT and what a good wife looks like, what is ladylike, maternal, respectable, honorable and Godly. Beyonce does not represent any of these things with her music---though she is famous and financially successful. Women, we are not female dogs!! Who talks like that? If we call each other that, what will our sons and daughters call us or our husbands? This cannot be normalized or accepted. If you claim to love the Lord and enjoy listening to music like this and "ignore" the profanity and vulgar content, you do not understand how God designed the human brain, heart and mind to work together. We will reap what we sow into our soul. Help us oh God!! Beyonce is not a friend of God or the Body of Christ.

Back in the day, They played that song ALL the time in the clubs.💃 And, as far as Secular music sampling Gospel music....it's been done for HUNDREDS of years!🙄 Soul Music came from Gospel Music. R&B came from Gospel Music. Rock & Roll came from Gospel Music.The Blues came from Gospel Music. Jazz came from Gospel Music. For example: Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Elvis, B.B. King, The Temptations, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, etc....
AND, what about Gospel singers sampling Secular music?! 🧐🤨 Kirk Franklin, The Winans, Mary Mary, etc....

She exposed herself years ago it just went over most people's head. Jz does not seem to be being a good husband stepping out and doing what he wants and I think she has fallen into sinful acts trying to get what she cannot have in her marriage, but I believe she will remain with him for image. Thank you. Firstly, the pastor was doing his Godly work by bringing attention to today's true Christians. We should be reminded that many go to church but there are church goers and righteous people in the same church. Even when God don't want quantity but quality, some people are there to blaspheme the name of God. True worshipers of God almighty know that God never changes, so when this generation think that as they evolve, God also evolves, its not true and its sad. The truth will always stand whether people believe it or not. As Everyone wants to be respected, can we keep it on a levelling ground? Don't also forget we all have our right to choose and the end will justify the price.

The bishop is, of course, entitled to his opinion. With that being said, it goes both ways. Beyoncé has the right to make music that expresses herself and those who relate to it. A LOT of ppl are in the club Saturday night and in church Sunday morning; and they felt seen by this record. Her song spoke to that experience. Unless the Lord convicts that person to do differently, it isn’t for anyone to judge, like the song says. As a Christian herself, she has the right to make commentary about her community. Beyoncé created this album from a space of love…I’m not sure the same can be said about the bishop’s comments.

Anyone who’s been an active member of a traditional Black church (not saying you haven’t) could see the teaching-moment tone of her comments. And the controversy surrounding this album, this track, in particular, centers around the explicit language and the encouragement for young women who conduct themselves in an unladylike-like manner to continue doing so while posing as Christians. These lyrics celebrate the women who attend one of the many organizations that actually only pose as churches.

Bishop Wooden is a very outspoken preacher in the church that stands for holiness. If nobody says anything he will definitely speak up on issues he believes are important or an attack on the church and believers.

She didn’t sample whatever material for no reason. When listening to Beyoncé’s more recent albums, it’s necessary to observe WHAT she samples more than the fact that she does so. Jesus confronted and was crucified. His disciples confronted all problems in the church. Yet today we say mind your own business and don't judge or the church will never grow. @@jblack4644 Allow me to clarify my statement. It is between her and God because salvation is personal. Calling out those within the body of Christ is different than calling out those who are not. We cannot hold people accountable to a standard they haven’t accepted or agreed to live by, thus the reason why the main conviction of calling out an unbeliever is to lead them to accept Christ and learn of Him; and it should be done with civility in discourse, with grace and love. I worked for a mega church for over two decades, and I’m amazed how some believers are so quick to point out the speck in someone’s eye while a big 2x4 is sticking out of their own eye. So, yes, I am defending the gospel, and that is, God is love and His desire is we accept His Son Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, and follow him. He loves us so much that He gave His son to redeem us from hell and sin, with only hoping that we’d receive Him. We defend the gospel by being a light, a city on a hill where light can penetrate the darkness. We call out sin in the believer and unbeliever, but we call out sin God’s way, in Love. Peace ✝️

I read that God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Truth is that the actions of the women in the song church girl, match the behavior of a significant amount of girls that actually went to church or still attend church. The problem is that Beyonce's song is giving them the green light to behave rachetly promiscuous rather that sending the message that church girls should either be spiritual or give themselves time to wild out if that is what you truly want. God isn't getting worshipped just because we show up to church and say hallelujah or sign in the choir and our lifestyle doesn't match up to the standards He set. If you want to be active in church, read the manual for the guidelines of behavior. Don't just make them up. There are many sinners that attend church and that is fine. Hopefully if the church is actually doing the work of the Lord, they can teach their congregants what is acceptable from what is not. It is necessary for the members and online viewers to hear that this type of behavior is unacceptable by God. It teaches us that God has requirements and challenges us to make a decision in lifestyles. I am not blaming the pastor. His duty is to defend the gospel against outside influences that attempt to blurr the lines of acceptance by introducing some type of dogma or philosophy, lifestyle or misinterpretation of scripture. If you want to pop it like a thotty and show up in church the following day that's fine. Just take a seat and listen to the message of the gospel. Don't take up an office if you are not reflecting the message.

After reading the lyrics, I'd say it's quite distasteful. What did it for me is using the lines from "Center of Thy Will" in the opening knowing fully well the remainder of the song isn't spiritual. Using the track only would have still been eye-raising for me, but more palatable.

I really believe it boils down to people misunderstanding the context of the song Center Thy Will. This song was written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is a supplication unto God asking to be centered in his holiness and righteousness. If you are in the club or anywhere rebelling against God with sin then you are not looking for his holiness, you are not looking for his righteousness or sanctification by the Holy Spirit. So you can do whatever you want and still go to church on Sunday which really is a waste of your own time if you are not seeking total surrenderence to God which is what the song is about! surrendering to Gods will which is to be holy as he is holy.
Honestly I attend church and actually love the song. Its part of my work out playlist. The pastor could of use that opportunity to gain the secular people into the spiritual life ( christianity). Even though it might be true that SOME church women or goers might behave in this manner, there are some church people that don’t behave this way and still stand up for holiness. Bishop’s was just letting the people not to get hooked on her message, that it is not okay to have that behavior as a saint! And he was standing up for holiness! I was brought up in a sanctified church and been in church the majority of my life. And I’m not going to front, I haven’t done right all my life. I’ve sinned and have fallen short of God’s glory. But, it doesn’t make it okay. Although, I’ve done wrong, I still proclaim “Holiness Is Still Right! Don’t put a bad look on the church because some people don’t want to do right. We as people have made that choice. But, there is a lot of people that still hold up the standard of holiness. It’s more to it than, what Bishop is saying, though.
