Nice to see some good sequel content for a change. I love how you got the appropriate blaster sfx for both sides. I also like seeing Phasma actually putting up a fight and fighting alongside her troops. Not everyday we see the bad guys win. Definitely saving this one.
Thanks so much I really appreciate it! I'm glad you liked it, I worked a long time on editing it and finding what I thought were the perfect sounds etc. Hardest part was probably the music and then having it match as many scenes as possible.
This is awesome, really takes me back to my childhood years haha, I feel like a 10 year old kid again. Great work dude, this here is some beautiful stop motion
YOooooooo, that was sick! Keep up the great work! Kinda jelous of how many of that kind of first order stormtroopers you have. Kind would have liked to see a couple of rapid fire scenes; one with the turret on the ship, with a small explosion, and another with the quarren rebel, but I can't be talking, lol, amazing animation, keep it up, bro!🤜
Thanks a lot! I actually have a few more first order stormtroopers, but sadly they got sun stained for some reason and are yellow, so I only could use the ones that looked good for this one. As for the rapid fire scenes, the turret was only at the level to hit that one guy so I left it like that, and then the Quarren I was actually going to have a rapid fire scene but I realized his blaster wasn't good for animation (it was hard to film the one shot he did do, it kept falling off) and I had already filmed all his scenes so I just killed him off quick and was done with it.
@@clonepilotace did you answer my comment????? OMG CLONEPILOTACE ANSWERED AND HEARTED AND I THINK LIKED MY COMMENT BRO YOU MADE ME SO HAPPY LIKE MY FRIEND HE TOLD ME THAT HE KILLED MY DOG OR IM DOGGUARD OR WHAT YOU CALL IT AND HE MADE ME SAD SO THANK YOU
Could you do a tutorial on how you make your backgrounds, lol, I know it's kinda stupid question, but I would really like to know, as much as I need to, lol, The background looks so good, along with the rest of the animation, I would like to replicate it, for other animations, lol
I'm actually horrible at lighting and backgrounds lol, that's why I reuse the same sets over and over again only with different landscapes. I'm scared to mess it up. Mine is very crude, its just 4 (1per side, 2 on the backdrop) poster boards from the dollar store and they're right up against the baseplates, and then they're taped together at their convergence points where they meet to make it as seemless as possible. Then, to hold it up and to make sure it doesn't flop over, I have heavy objects (on each side) and the back wall (on the main long side backdrop) to hold everything in place. And then for interior shots (such as my latest order 66 outpost stop motion) I just have a different set up at a different table, with no backdrop, and it's all brick built and for interiors only so I don't constantly mess with the lighting.
@@clonepilotace I know you'll think this is stupid, but what you've just told me was actually very helpful, lol, I don't think it's crude, I think it's actually very effective, and looks very seamless, and proper, despite what you may think, I think it's actually a very ingenius set-up :)
@@TundraStopMotion We all had to learn from others, I ask questions all the time with regards to lighting and set up. I'm at a point now where I wing a lot of stuff now and am comfortable in many areas, but in others I am not. For example I don't know how to do explosions yet and I want to add them in future so when I do I will look and see what other people do.
@@clonepilotace Yes, that makes a lot of sense, I'm bad in a lot of areas to... my worst pain is probably the walk or run cycle , not going to lie, lol, there impossible for me, but on the other hand, I've been doing brick (with sticky tack, or clay) explosions for a while, but I don't even know how to do a VFX one :( But assuming you have some clay or something, I could help you with explosions. just baseline advise for a brick explosion: you'll need some red lightsaber pieces, some spring loaded shooter pieces (red) and a few fire pieces, of varing size, if you have those, then assuming your animating with 15 FPS, you have between 4-7 frames of explosion growth, and 4-9 frames of explosion decline... I know some of this maybe either not make sense, or is confusing.. Do you think I should make a tutorial on this, lol, I know it's a lot to understand, but I hope got some help, lol
@@TundraStopMotion Yeah I wouldn't mind an explosion tutorial. I haven't done one yet because I'm lazy, but usually once I've done something, then I tend to incorporate it more, so I think after my compilation video I want to incorporate something with an explosion. As as for the walk/run cycle, I totally get it, I'm pretty fine with it now but I still occasionally make mistakes and it's tedious during the phase balancing the guy when hes not connected to any studs.
@clonepilotace would it be okay with you, if I did a similar stop motion? Oviously I would Not copy it at all, I just liked the idea of the stormtroopers on a diffent planet, then were normally used to
I don't mind at all, in fact I'd like to see it. This video itself is inspired by another first order video I saw, including their rough movement down the ramp. But then I added my own elements and the plot was quite different. I'd love to see it!
@@clonepilotace Awesome, thank you, I have wanted to do a First Order stop motion for a while, but I don't have any... anymore, I used to but I "customized" them 😳 so yeah, I don't have any, but have wanted to do a similar think, your animation, and a first order animation by (I think) lego man 844 made an "attack of the tank" first order animation that was really cool, along with yours, I'll be sure to tell you when I make it!
@@TundraStopMotion Yeah actually I saw that attack of the tank one prior to making this. Usually when I'm in a certain mood (in this instance I was in a first order "mood"), I watch videos related to that, both stop motions and MOC pictures/videos to really get inspiration. Sometimes the inspiration is roughly plot based, or other times such as with the tank video, it's just to be inspired about the era in general and my video is nothing similar other than being in the same era or same theme etc.
Would be cool to see dynamic flip in your next stop motion. The rebel alliance successfully launching an attack to liberate a base from the empire. Maybe to free some prisoners.
Yeah that's a good idea, I have some cool snow rebel ideas for this winter, hoth and rhen var battles, but until then a prison break might be cool and let the rebels win one. Most first order stop motions I've seen the resistance always wins so I wanted a dynamic flip in this sense. Thanks for the comment.
@@clonepilotace really? I’ve only seen like one two stop motions where the resistance wins. The rest have been first order steamrolls. Same for the galactic empire: most of them are just troopers or Vader massacring them. Got tedious after so many.
