- Ranjani and Gayatri sing on the presiding God of Kashi or Varanasi, Sri Vishwanatha as they take a serene boat ride through the sacred waters of the Ganga. An intimate scenic setting for this lilting and well-loved bhajan by Swati Thirunal in Raga SIndhubhairavi, the Ganga and Kashi is an inexhaustible source of inspiration and divine vibes for all pilgirms and musicians. This is a candid raw footage of the recording, shot by one of RaGa's co-artistes Sri Praveen Narayanan on his iPhone.

I have just been sitting here with my hands folded, frozen in disbelief and gratitude. How your music rises above all the noise of life and pierces the soul. A composition that your violin made me yearn for forever, to be able to hear in your voices. And here it is, flowing with the Ganga, as unstoppable, as much a force of nature. Every time you ended a stanza with an emotive flourish the tears grew thicker. Each note so endearing, so unbelievably beautiful in its purity and simplicity. Each improvisation just uninhibited emotion. Even dipping toes in this music is bound to set us free. Happy to Drown.

I started to watch the video assuming that its recorded and the video was shot seperately as many youtube musicians do these days but when the boat sound came in the background i could not believe that it was a live recording. It was truly a bliss to watch the song in the ride in Ganges. It took to a trance state making tears flow through cheeks without my knowledge. Such a soothing song that was a feather touch to the pain.
Angels descended on Ganga waters at Kasi to eulogise Lord Visweswara and enlighten humans through their Kirtana. Superb rendition. 🌸👌🌸
KAsi means Visweswar and Visalakshi...the divine duo.
