Bielsa’s influence ranges across the tactical, analytical, and preparatory. Many have tempered Bielsa’s attacking intensity and added a degree of caution, but the foundations of today’s Tottenham Hotspur, River Plate, and San Jose Earthquakes are overtly rooted in the philosophy of Marcelo Bielsa. His breadth of influence, among so many coaches, surely marks out Marcelo Bielsa as one of the most important figures in the modern era of football.

Happy Marcelo Bielsa week, everyone!
Cereal Box 64 haha too funny. Kinda a series I think
I now know more about Marcelo Bielsa than Marcelo Bielsa himself.
never in a million years
Nice Bielsa reference
Adham Asran underrated comment
But he knows more about you!!
Marcelo probably has probably extensively analysed videos of your morning routine since you came out of the womb though. Probably even has the ultrasound footage
Keep giving Bielsa content, he is just such an interesting guy.
Is Marcelo Bielsa holding Tifo hostage and forcing them to make videos on him? Maybe
Hahaha this made me die haha
Gyroo haha too funny. Kinda a series I think
Waiting for allardyce vids hha
😂 wanted to express the same feeling, but couldn’t have done it better.
Same
Is Marcelo Bielsa the new account manager?
Alfredo Gago true😂 there have been too many videos about him
Alfredo Gago haha too funny. Kinda a series I think
If Marcelo Bielsa is holding you guys hostage, make one of the animations blink twice
Retro Fury Bielsa is a true Legend and deserves all this!
This one made me laugh most
Loving Bielsa week. Saw someone mention Atalanta and Gasperini definitely deserves some credit. Great tactical adaptation as well as he had a 3-4-3 at first which is now a 3-4-1-2 with Papu as an enganche
two teams are overperforming in Italy.
Atalanta, of coach Gasperini, and Torino, of coach Mazzarri.
i'd suggest a special esisode with both teams, if they both qualify for european cups.
they are somehow opposite in their approach, but very effective.
Can I talk to you about our Lord and saviour Marcelo Bielsa?
KGBgringo bielsa is god and Hernandez is Jesus
Slams the front door😂😂
He probably already knows your daily routine, and has spy's on you
There is only 1 saviour... JESUS!
@@dareemmanuel6079 never heard of him, who does he play for?
Who has been most influenced by Marcelo Bielsa?
Tifo Football!
Jorge Sampaoli.
I was gonna say Pochettino or Berizzo...
Let’s go for Bielsa month.
Yer Maw haha too funny. Kinda a series I think
Or Bielsa life!
You guys should do a video on clubs that have a director of football/general manager (like Les Ferdinand under QPR or FSG under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool) vs clubs that let their managers have full authority over transfers. I think it would be interesting to see the success differences between these 2 different ways of signing players. (If there was any at all) Happy Bielsa week!
Very interesting idea indeed. Hopefully Tifo read this.
drubio thanks, would be a very interesting video indeed
great idea!
And so here it is! After many years, Universidad de Chile features in a Tifo video! That 2011-12 side was something else.
part 4 of 40 of the Bielsa retrospective.
black eagles !
Would be great
8tas 😭😭
Got a season ticket at Leeds this year and can say I feel privileged to have watched a bielsa team the football has been great to watch never a dull moment.
Please do a video on Gian Piero Gasperini and what he has done for Atalanta
This, so much this.
Good suggestion that
check the Tifo website. There's an article on him
is he Bielsa? if no, wrong channel to request that
What a legend this guy is. Brings me tears every time I watch video about him.
So humble he is.
He deserved all these videos!
I never really knew of him until your first tactics video made me look. Now a massive Bielsa fan.
Loving Bielsa Month!!!
Guardiola didn't sign Javi Martinez. He went to Bayern under Jupp Heynckes in 2012-2013.
Yeah, i realized that too
If I’m not wrong, Martinez was signed under the direction of Guardiola during his sabbatical after he had already committed to joining Bayern long before Heynckes was to leave... I thought Bayern were a little disrespectful for doing that at the time...
@@izzojunior Well, you are simply wrong. Martinez was signed by Bayern (whoever says that Jupp/Pep/Kovac or any other Bayern coach signed someone is simply an idiot because unlike some other clubs, in Bayern the coach has no jurisdiction on transfer dealings) after this was requested by Heynckes.
In fact, Hoeness later said that Jupp called him every day during their holiday period in June 2012 because he was deeply affected by the fiasco in the spring of 2012, so he wanted to discuss new ideas, new transfers and ways, in which the team could be improved.
The problem with Martinez was the transfer fee (the release clause in fact), which was extremely high for Bayern's transfer policy at the time. So the four of them (Hoeness, Rummenigge, the newly appointed Sammer and Heynckes gathered together to discuss whether the player should be signed. After a lot of discussions, the bossess simply asked Jupp whether Bayern will be in a better position to compete in Germany and in Europe the next season with Martinez, to which he said yes.
So Guardiola had absolutely nothing to do with this transfer, and the final agreement between him and the club was reached a lot later.
joalbrito no need to call someone an idiot...just put your point across if you’re right you’re right...all I know is that the news coming out of the camp said Guardiola had something to do with the signing.
@@izzojunior Just to clarify - the idiot comment was not directed at you, it was directed at people who write articles, make poorly researched videos and write other posts stating or implying that Guardiola or any other Bayern coach has sold/bought a player for Bayern. This cannot be further from the truth, and, yes - it is necessary to call these people idiots because they are either idiots, who produce material without researching, or are intentionally spreading false information.
For example, it is important to note that Guardiola did NOT sell Kroos (as some videos on youtube are suggesting).
Regarding the transfer of Martinez, I don't care what the "news" said - there was a detailed interview about what happened in the room and how the decision was reached, and none of the other people present implied in any way that this is not true. Therefore, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that Guardiola played any role whatsoever in the transfer. Anyone who is stating the opposite is simply talking nonsense.
Marcelo Bielsa to Tifo Football:
“Make exceptional videos explaining my Great tactics then send them to me so I can lock my Leeds players in a room and binge watch them. And while you’re at it, delight your subscribers...” 👌😎🙂
I'm very happy for Leeds coming back to Premier League. It's a great achievement of Bielsa!
Who's here after Leeds got promoted? Lets see him in the Prem.
They are the poo. I could see them getting a Europe spot.
@@goodyking6732 theyre 15th

That comment is a month old.
Regardless of whether or not he achieves success with Leeds- this has been one of his better European stints for consistency- he will go down as one of the most iconic figures in the club’s history. He’ll go down alongside Revie as one of our greatest and most revolutionary managers of all time. It’s truly a privilege to watch the team he’s putting out each week, and to hear him talk extensively through his methodology and philosophy on the game.
Marcelo Bielsa. Leeds United legend.
Thank you for making video on him or else I would not have known about this Living Legend...

I was never a leads fan, then Bielsa came and won my heart.. Fuck those big teams, I am now Leeds fan proudly..
sampaoli is revolutionizing coaching in brasil, a thing that was unchanged for DECADES. he came and instantly transformed a very strict-budget team to a real contender. hes a hero
Funny how Marcelo Biesla has influenced Tifo. Seems like the new synonm of Marcelo Biesla.
Surely he admires him a lot just like I do. He is the first manager that made me see football in a different way. I loved his Argentina side even if they didn't achieve much.
Would like to see the channel keep up this trend of doing multi-part, in-depth profiles. Would be interesting to see more of these in-depth profiles on influential historical figures. You could do three parts easily on someone like Cruyff.
Rinus Michels would be better
This is pure class. Congrats on a gorgeous video.
Great video as always! This series has made me see Bielsa in a new light.
Also, I'm very happy to see my team's crest in the graphics! It caught me by surprise at 4:23. Vamo arriba Nacional! 🔴⚪🔵
Will the next video be about the tactics Marcelo Bielsa’s rectum is using to keep Tifo so firmly inside?
Oh boy...we've asked for 3 parts on Marcelo Bielsa and you even gave us the bonus of a 4th part. Thanks a lot!
When Tifo finally mentions your team's coach in a video 😍⚪🔴⚪
I'd love it if you guys did a Tactics Explained video on Marcelo Gallardo. I find it weird that no one else is asking that given the tremendous success he's had lately.
I'd say it's Mourinho. Almost all clubs now employ his 4-3-3 style he pioneered at Porto with slight variances on attacking v counter-attacking styles. Even Alex Ferguson had to adopt Mourinho's style in order to win back the PL from Chelsea (and the CL). Mourinho's own personal way of working might have gotten him mixed results recently, but there is no denying his shadow is still looming large in todays game.
The 2011 Universidad de Chile squad is easily one of best Chilean club sides ever
Guadalajara played them off the park in Chile that year
@@charlieparker7159 you mean 2010, Sampaoli arrives in 2011
Great video! Thanks for this. cheers from Argentina!
And thanks to Argentina for Bielsa💙.
LEEDS CHAMPIONS
@@kjellesperas5132 back to the Premier!!!!
Looks like the only top manager he hasn't influenced is Jose Mourinho
He is special one...special one is not influenced by anyone 🙃😂😂🤣🤣
José was influenced by himself, according to himself
Ricky Footitt the special one can never be influenced
Bielsa Love !!!
And look at what he's done at leeds! Champions 💛💙 love the bloke!
Cuando dice enganche y tres puntas no pedi ser argentino solo tuve el privilegio
Fantastic stuff once more. You really get the sense that he's like a gardener, planting seeds of future success everywhere he goes. No small praise from Guardiola, too.
Nice analogy 👍🏻
More Bielsa videos please cause I can’t find alot about him except in this channel
This channel, man. ❤️
I never realised how respected he was.
Thanks for putting these Bielsa videos together Tifo. Very informative and inspirational. I’ll be on one of those list soon.
Rafael Marquez was also part of the backbone at Barcelona during PEPs tenure, Marquez career was pushed by Bielsa while he was in Mexico.
What an enigma this country Argentina is? So much talent and bests in the world but cannot bring it together for an World Cup winning campaign..the tragic hero of the football world..
Loving Bielsa week! Really appreciate this. Guess we can't sum up Bielsa's work in one video, or two. or three.
Thank you for devoting this time to Bielsa.
Leeds first half v arsenal were unbelievable. But you knew they were going to run out of steam. They needed that first half goal. Great to watch though.
I wouldn’t say they ran out of steam at all, Arsenals goal (and subsequent victory) wasn’t borne out of tactical nous but fortune. I’d say Leeds played better football in that game specifically but also that Arsenal weren’t playing at their best
Guardiola has signed a player from a former club, Thiago Alcantara (Barca to Bayern). Admittedly, Alcantara didn't play much under him at Barca due to injuries. Pep also tried to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal during his time at City. Most of the Barcelona players would not leave the club due to their long-standing ties with Catalonia. As for his time in Munich, many of the players were equally tied with Bayern.
Another awesome video, thanks guys. I'm also a big fan of Marcelo Bielsa.
As a chilean and universidad de chile fan i Say : welcome to the Marcelo Bielsa lovers fan club
No one ower, no one beside! !
And he's the manager of my dear LEEDS UNITED. The hardest job in the game. And he did it, we're are the CHAMPIONS

Great video again. Your manager series is where your best work is done. Please give us more historical managers
Amazing work again gentlemen.
And we (Argentines) still dare to question him only because of that catastrophic 2002 WC first round. There are even WC champions that dont go to the second round the very next WC, yet we that hadn't won a WC in almost forty years pressure our players and coaches to perform like we have won every single one of them.
Bielsa and Pekerman are 2 of the best coaches the national Argentina squad ever had and we let them go just like that while the rest of the world praises them. Such a shame.
Thank you for this beautiful channel .
Love all the Bielsa content! Some UCL match theories and/or thoughts on Ajax unusual success would be amazing
Next week we have a video on Ajax coming out. - Alex
Man i wish i found you guys earlier, you are great, this is the best football channel on youtube. Maybe in the future you could do an episode on Mircea Lucescu and the legacy he left at romanian clubs and Shaktar + many brazilian players that are now huge, or on Fatih Terim.
Great videos on Bielsa without a doubt a genius of the sport
If Bielsa takes Leeds up, the first half of the maiden PL season would mean a lot of praise from opposition managers. Guys like Pep and Poch would never miss a chance to hail him in public.
Please tifo make a video about Getafe and their tactics. I was surprising by their achievement this season.
Everyone coming into the comments is saying something about how there has been 3 bielsa vids in a row
As much as I love and admire Bielsa (to the point of fanaticism), I would love to know more and understand why Bielsa did not accommodate the darling of Argentinian football, Riquelme.
There wasn't another Argentinean at that time, I thought, that was better in the Number 10 role (Enganche). Heck, there haven't been many in the history of football as good as him in his prime!
Agree. Those of us who appreciate Bielsa and admire Riquelme ask the same question
Riquelme didn't meet Bielsa's fitness requirements. Bielsa likes two way players that don't walk the pitch when they aren't in possession of the ball.
Same reason as Van Gal who, when in Barcelona, said: "when we don't have the ball, it's like playing with 10 men with Riquelme out there".
@@danielalejandrofernandez5907 Thanks for the Van Gaal reference. It sheds more light on Bielsa's motives.
@danielalejandrofernandez5907 I think this criticism is also applicable to a the number 10 role as a whole, and is probably the reason why there are few number 10s in football right now. The only ones playing at the highest level like messi always needed players who can control possession and recover the ball when it is out of possession.
Great video. This coach deserves plenty of analysis.
We missed one name, Unai Emery.. Both him and Pochettino would write down notes whenever they'd meet Bielsa and ofcourse talk bout football..
How about an analysis on Jonathan Wilson?
💙💛Marcelo Bielsa 💛💙
Would love to see a video on Atalanta and their 3412 attacking style of play. Great team to watch and they score a lot too.
Bielsa should manage a top 4 EPL side. Seeing Guardiola and Bielsa square off like they did when they managed Barcelona and Bilbao respectively would definitely be a joy to watch.
Great work!
El puto amo
Hey do a video on how Sampaoli's Argentina went wrong! (Because as soon as Sampaoli came to manage the team, everyone was so excited)
Breaking news: Newcastle has met Leeds release clause and approached him as part of Newcastle's big project plans! As a Newcastle fan, I'm very excited 😁
Guardiola is easily the most successful in transition of Bielsa's technique because he took it the the next level by only working for clubs who gave him an unlimited budget each time jumping ship once he had made success of that club.
Great Analysis thanks .
5:30 wow now I feel so damn old all these players I grew up with are now managers and coaches
Great videos about a great topic!
But 2 things:
Javi Martinez was signed because of Heynckes, it was his wish player, not Guardiola.
Pep did sign Thiago, who was at Barca with him as well.
Guardiola does sign players he's worked with at former clubs. He signed Thiago Alcantara at Bayern Munich. He told them he couldn't and wouldn't manage Bayern without Thiago.
Nobody :
Literally not a single soul :
Tifo : MARCELO BIELSA OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR
what a football story bravo
Beautiful analysis.
I think Marcelo bielsa is holding tifos family hostage..... this is the 4th video on him THIS WEEK
And you Wonder why????
He has done the impossible posissble.
LEEDS UNITED ARE the CHAMPIONS 💙💛.
Probably the hardest job in the game, and he did without spending billions, not even millions.

Is it possible for a video about Sheffield United or Chris Wilder. Sheff U play an incredibly creative 3-5-2 and I’d say the way we use is possibly the first of its kind playing incredibly effective with players that were often overlooked in their careers.
Great video! Keep the good work lads
Trophies don't matter long live Marcelo Bielsa and Bielsaball
Yes without question 😁😁
I would say him and van gaal are the most influential coaches in the last 25 years.
You're not wrong.
You’re wrong
I suggest you look into Ricardo Antonio "La Volpe"
Marcelo Biesla of Tifo is Radhika Apte of Netflix :3
Lmao
I can watch another 100 videos on him, tifo football. Keep it up, lol.
I hope at least one video on Chris Wilders’ Sheffield United is being made
2 questions for the Tifo Football guys
1) Do you think Dean Smith is influenced by Bielsa? He has admitted to being influenced by Guardiola and Klopp but as Villa fan it seems like Bielsa would be an influenced too or it could be that those combined results in the same thing tactically.
2) Could do a video on Dean Smith's tactics and how they've developed over his career, I believe that he is objectively one of the best coaches working outside of the Premier League and think would an interesting video.
Thanks
I found a small error: Javi Martinez transferred to FC Bayern in 2012 when Jupp Heynckes was still in charge at FC Bayern, Pep Guardiola became coach at FC Bayern in 2013
Just a little correction, Bielsa and Bilardo have almost nothing in common, in fact most Bilardo followers hate Bielsa. He's very much influenced by Menotti
Also, Simeone style is pretty much the opposite of Bielsa's, his style and philosophy is similar to Bilardo's
Not entirely true. Bielsa's analysis of opponents is inspired by Bilardo. Not his romantic and intensely aggressive playing style; that's Menotti on drugs.
@@Lions4322 Yeah you are right, but their in-game style and philosophy are pretty opposite
I totally support the Bielsa-week!
Please make a video about Gasperini and Atalanta’s season 2018-2019!
FiveThirtyEight recently made a list on the "best teams" in the world based on their algorithm.Between all the European giants there was Olympiakos sitting in 12th place ahead of Inter and many other great teams.Olympiakos has been playing some beautiful attacking football this season but it didn't win them any titles, could you possibly do a video on Olympiakos this season?I think it would be interesting
One of these on Arrigo Sacchi would be good
