Femi is quick to point out the wealth in Barbados is concentrated to a few people but fails to realise its the same with the wealth generated from the slave trade in GB. I've certainly not felt any benefit from the trade and anything that I DO have is a result of my own hard work.
It's also very telling when people say we're the 6th richest country (note his Brexit dig there) We are NOT the 6th richest nation, we have the 6th highest GDP which is a very subtle but genuinely massive difference, typical of some to assume the wealth of others.
His arguments have more holes than a teabag: What about the Barbary pirates slave trade where figures estimate they took twice the Europeans that Europeans took from Africa?
What about reparations for the British from the Italians when the Romans invaded? Or from Scandinavia when the Vikings pillaged and looted the country? Or reparations from France because of the Norman conquest of 1066? Or does Femi not let facts like that bother him too much and only sees the world through the lens of skin colour? Which would theoretically make him quite racist.

A massive chunk of UK wealth is still in the hands of descendants of the Normans who came here in 1066, people who also benefited disproportionately from the Empire and the slave trade and still weild massive power today. They have been exploiting working class British people for almost a millenia, where are our reparations?

As a native African I've seen how African leaders destroyed their own countries. Prior to independence, most African countries not only fed themselves but exported goods.

As a captured black person in africa you were given 2 options be killed or be sold as a slave. When african nations realised they could make money from their defeated prisoners then the blacks were saved. The blacks in american obviously are descended from slaves not dead prisoners. Also the UK having a huge fleet of ships were the "Eddie stobarts" of the slave trade. We just provided transport, never made the person the slave, that was done by their fellow blacks.

Britain & the western countries have already been paying Africa trillions in reparations over the past decades in the form of aid, debt relief & charity.Britain was the first country to abolish slavery over 300 years ago, something some African nations still haven't done. Africa needs to stop making excuses for corruption & failures & stand on its own.
If this nonsense were to become fact, such a precedent would require Countries such as Spain to pay, not only for slavery, but also for the Civilisations it eradicated. How could any monetary amount cover such atrocities? If any reparations are payable these days, it should be one Country in particular doing so which has been responsible for three years of hell recently.
