    "DIY workshop saves money" very true and thank u for this video. It's also amazing how easy spark plug change is on the x3 and how shops want to charge $400.

    How often do you change a fuel filter?

    • @TheDIYWorkshop2020
      @TheDIYWorkshop2020  6 місяців тому

      Max 30.000km. We recommend every 15.000 km when doing the oil and filters maintenace. Nowadays , manufacturers recommend crazy maintenance intervals like 60.000 km but that's just nonsense. Thank you for your comment !

    Hi can you provide what kind of filters did you used to replace all the filters? Thanks

      We usually go for MAN filters when possible. It really depends on your local provider.

    Great stuff, thanks. Do you know how often the fuel filter has to be changed? I have just purchsed the MAN indoor filter and engine filter for 90Euros which, with fitting would have cost about 225Euro at BMW. Have to get the oil done by them though as I do not have the tools for that - about 270Euro.

      You should check the owner's manual. Normally the fuel filter is changed after 20.000/30.000km but we do it every year/10.000 along with all the other filters. The fuel quality nowadays is very bad. Also, manufacturers provide very large service intervals. I don't want to seem like a conspiracy theorist, but it still seems strange to me.

    wow it has a dip stick?!

      Why not? It also has an electronic oil level. In my opinion all cars should have both.

      @@TheDIYWorkshop2020 As far as I know, none of the X3's (or any newer BMWs) in the States have dip sticks. Mine certainly doesn't.

      @@81bajaj I was thinking that as well, but I have never removed the plastic cover.
