I love the part when he was talkin about how in his last moments he passed his bible in the hooker's hand. & talkin about the promise land. It made an impact on her & she read that bible to her son who goes on to be a preacher. What a testimony. Beautiful.
No disrespect, but I think you missed the point at the end. There were four people in the car crash, but only three wooden crosses (one for the farmer, the preacher and the teacher). Why not one for the hooker? At the end of the song, he said the preacher laid the blood stained bible in his (different preacher) momma's (the hooker) hand. So obviously she didn't die. She turned her life around and had a son who went on to become a preacher and that preacher told the story to the guy singing the song. But you were busy vibing, and didn't seem like you caught that part because you didn't mention it. Love your vids, keep them coming.
I think you missed something the hooker wouldn't have a cross because they didn't die. There where 5 people on that bus. If you're asking why there was not 4 and it only mentions one surviving that would mean the cross that was missing was for the driver who caused the wreck not the hooker who clearly lived and cleaned up her life.
@@chemislife I wasn't asking anything. The driver is irrelevant. He ran a stop sign and was likely buckled in. The passengers likely weren't. And who knows where they were sitting on the bus. We don't know what happened to the driver because he's never mentioned after he ran the sign. There's three crosses & four people (not including the irrelevant driver). Of course the hooker didn't die. That's the whole point of the song, and was also my whole point. I've heard this song like twelve billion times through the years. I've had enough time to contemplate what it's about.
@@muzikblitz clearly not seeing as you had to throw out information as "irrelevant" and then deliberately miss read my statement to brush it off. I commented because you where getting on someone else for not noticing how you interpenetrated the song. It states there where 4 people on the bus plus the driver making a total of 5 seeing as the driver of the 18 wheeler is never mentioned that would be the body involved that can be tossed as irrelevant due to them never being mentioned specifically in the song. When the song asks why there where not 4 crosses that could imply there where 4 deaths with the hooker being the only survivor on the bus. leading to the conclusion that the bus driver left nothing behind as the reckless act mentioned in the song (missing the stop sign) and thus had no one to place a cross for him.
@@chemislife The farmer, the teach and the preacher died. The hooker survived and she read that blood stained bible to her son, who is a preacher, who was telling the story.( The hooker was saved that dreadful day and went on and changed her life and had a son who became a preacher. )The bus driver was never mentioned at all.
hes a great singer man it was heartache when he had health problems and then a stroke before going into a coma then he came through that but lost his ability to speak and had to learn how to speak all over again but your right about the message man
I think you sort of got it.. but did you understand that the dying preacher who was searching for lost souls gave his blood-stained Bible to the hooker.. and it influenced her to change her ways. So the dying preacher left behind her saved soul. She then taught the story and Bible to her son, so she made a positive impact on her son, and that son became a preacher who's positively impacting so many others. If I heard right, it won a "Dove Award," and rightly so.
Country Music has been about the " Story " for as long as I have been listening to. I'm 53 now and have been listening since i was about 9 oor 10. Some stories are happy , some are sad , but all stories have a meaning behind them.
Don’t feel bad over half of my other reactors missed it by many miles also. Go back and listen to and if you can read the lyrics. It’s a song of redemption,God spared the hooker so that she could have the chance to repent. The three wooden crosses were put there at the scene of the accident to memorialize the ones that died, the farmer, the teacher, and the preacher. That preacher while he was dying gave his bible to the hooker, she in turn would read it to her son,who became a preacher who tells the story.
Enjoyed your reaction. When Randy Travis lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, he used to come down and play at my church's Easter Sunrise service in Albuquerque. Great guy.
What a beautiful song and so profound. I love Randy Travis' voice and he's great at telling a story. Man, thanks JoJo. I've never heard this song before but you can be sure I'm going to be adding it to my vast and eclectic playlist. OMG...I just got chills because I realized that hooker he was talking about in the beginning was the mother who read that Bible to her child. The one who became the preacher. He was holding that bloodstained Bible in his hand when he delivered that story. I'm a little slow sometimes. Oh, man.
You'll love going down the Randy rabbit hole. He is such a wonderful guy with a beautiful voice. Try FOREVER AMD EVER, AMEN next. He was huge in the 80's.
I love watching young people discovering country music. I hope you'll continue being open to all sorts of music. I think you'd really enjoy Garth Brooks' song "Ain't going down til the sun comes up".
I love this song and I thing u misunderstood it not much but a little bit. When the Farmer,Preacher, and teacher died the hooker was given the Bible by the dying preacher and that Bible was passed down to the son of the hooker who became a preacher. I think the point that Randy Travis is making is what u said “ All you leave on this earth is what you left here” but that crash was a blessing in disguise because it aloud a mother to teacher her son about God.
The bus driver was the preacher. He gave his bible to the hooker as he died. 3 of the 4 died. God gave the hooker a chance to fix her life. She read her son the Bible and he became the new preacher. The story is that God gives us all a chance to make this world better before we go.
There's a lot more good country music out there just like this Jojo! Play some George Strait next! He's the reigning King of Country with 60 HIT SONGS!
I don't know if you know this but sadly Randy Travis can no longer sing due to the fact he had a massive stroke and needed brain surgery it robbed him of his ability to play guitar and perform it also limited his speech doctors told his wife that he had only a 1 or 2 percent chance of survival but he survived this all happened back in 2013
Should definitely look out Paolo Nutini - Iron Sky (Recorded at Abbey Road). Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on both the lyrics and the performance. I can guarantee that voice will blow your mind as will be totally unexpected. Be nice to have a Scottish singer reviewed. All the best from Scotland 🏴
No, I think you hit the nail on the head, that most people who react to this seem to miss, or when they give their commentary anyway. Their was 4 people on the bus, 3 of them died, and the person who didn't die, questioned why they didn't die. The preacher who died, gave his blood stained Bible to the hooker. And, that is what the preacher left behind, the word of the Bible. Which the hooker read it to her son, and her son became a preacher. So, what the preacher left behind created another preacher. So, be a good person and leave that behind, so that can create another good person. His song Forever and Ever, Amen was huge. But this song Three Wooden Crosses broke all boundaries. Many people that said they hated country, still loved Three Wooden Crosses, and probably Forever and Ever, Amen. His voice is like no other. And, I am more of a rock, metal, metal-core and rap kind of guy.
Man, if you want the master of country music story telling, Johnny Cash is your man. A Boy Names Sue and Story of John Henry's Hammer are some of the best.
I have to say I love your videos. I'd love to see your reaction to Reba McEntire " the night the light went out in Georga" as well as Martina McBride "Broken Wing" and Independence Day
Damn, I haven't listened to this song a while. Another good, sad country song is Whiskey lullaby by Brad Paisley. Hearing one of these always reminds me of the other for some reason.
Welcome back young brother, been missing your videos. The preacher was holding a blood stained bible in his hand, that his mother, who was the pregnant hooker on the bus gave him when she died
You need to listen to it again without the dancing and pay attention to the lyrics. You missed the whole story. 4 people on a bus headed to Mexico. The bus crashed and 3 of them died, hence the crosses on the side of the highway. The twist is figuring out which one lived...that's why there's only 3 crosses.
Did you get the point that the preacher died on the bus and before he died he gave the Bible to the hooker. The hooker got pregnant had a son read the Bible to her son and her son became a preacher

There are songs that you listen to to raise your hands in the air.
There are songs that you listen to to raise your hands up in prayer.
I like that...I might have to steal that. If you don't mind.
I love that!! ❤❤

React to Radiohead. They’re my favorite band. Do anyone can play guitar
No disrespect, I did like your take. But, I think you should listen to it again paying more attention to the story.
Sad to say he passed away today today
You missed it
You didn't get the point of this song. You heard but you didn't listen. I'm subbed to you but this one gets a thumbs down, my guy.
Appreciate the reaction but stop trying to gig to it like it’s a Travis Scott song. This has real spiritual meaning.
