I suspect there are a small handful of freestylers out there who can freestyle off the top as well as Harry can…for a bit. But I doubt any freestyler can do it as long as Harry can. And Harry’s performance actually seems to get better the longer he goes. It’s like a cheetah vs a Formula 1 race car. Off the block the cheetah will keep up or even get ahead of the car. About 3 seconds after that the cheetah is going to be left in the dust. Other rappers may be able to hold their own more than 3 seconds, but not much more.

There was that one dude in new Orleans guerrilla bars that was quite good. But you gotta admit, with lean, Harry was just being chill while lean was going hard. Harry upped the pace and lean was like 😮

Most of the musicians he was mentioning are Jazz musicians, ones that broke from the norm and blazed a path of their own in Jazz, a trait Mack not only respects but emulates in his freestyle approach. There was no one, before or after, like those stalwarts of Jazz, and there will never be another Harry Mack.
And of course jazz is the ultimate freestyle genre, they just do it with instruments 😊

You guys should grab like 5 or so clips from his livestream stuff. He's got some crazy shorter stuff where people give him challenges, one in particular is called Too Many Flows, where he just plays with cadences. There's a few of him doing freestyle tutorials, while freestyling and explaining what he's doing. There's another where he's doing rhyme scheme flash cards like ABAB, ABACABAC, ABBABAAB (idk if you understand that).
All of his stuff is fire, but if you give the man a challenge, he will exceed your expectations.
I also like the one where he’s explaining rhythmic transposition while rapping and giving examples of it.
Yall are becoming one of my favorite reaction channels. It's just a different kind of insight coming from people that actually rap. Thank you for that !

I like music alot, I like to know what artists were important in the past generations and touch people so I appreciate when mack gives them props, I always go look it up if I don't know the artist and I always learn something interesting

His music career started as a drummer with his main influence being jazz. John Coltrane (sax), Max Roach (drums), Sonny Rawlins (sax), and Tony Williams (drums) are all old-school jazz musicians that were active from the 50s-90s. All of them are considered massively important in the history of jazz, but unless you study the oldies or are super into jazz you probably won't have heard of them.

It comes after none of this was planned harry mack x beardyman (clips from the same night in London) all the clips Beardyman released of the night he and Harry collaborated for 1.5-2hrs are fire.

Piano is the simplest way to learn music theory because everything is in a straight line.... at least this is my hypothesis on why it would be easier to teach piano to the blind versus, lets say... a saxophone.
I've been playing guitar for a long time, and music theory becomes harder to apply when you start going into alternate tunings versus the standard tuning on guitar when improving on the fly. It becomes a very different instrument. Pianos never change tuning... it will always be the same playing one piano from another.
I've watched this about 20 times and never noticed they spelled Rapping wrong. I also just noticed they spelled "Grateful" wrong too

This is kind of a hard one to watch for me. Blind Fury is a top tier, world class freestyler. But comparing what Harry does to what the top tier do is like comparing Tiger Woods to the top 1% of putt-putt players.

I'm half White half Mexican and despise coleslaw or anything with mayonnaise or onion. Onion literally makes my gag reflex go off like crazy and ill throw up. Never had fish tacos, probably because it sounds gross as hell! Maybe they are good but I don't think I would like em and they certainly would not be my last meal!
