my mom ran her own beauty shop, and pretty much knew everyone in our 2k person town/rural area. Our first computer was a used Mac Performa 6400 from one of the teachers. Life changer
I really enjoy your banter, authenticity and transparency. So enjoyable! Thanks for sharing Eric’s other Chanel. Most importantly, thank you for sharing your gifts with the world. 😀
I think what makes this podcast work so well is that your guys' dialog flow so well, and that's probably attributed to your established friendship. It's so natural, and so that plus the production quality is why I subscribed. Keep up the good work!
I wish I had watched this first. Cooperstown! Of course you knew what I was yammering about when I mentioned Albany, Schenectady and Saratoga! I love Cooperstown and live about 35 miles away from it. Growing up there, you perhaps have a different perspective, but I've enjoyed my four or five visits. I'm 19 days from FIRE and listening to your conversation from both sides of the line has been helpful. I'd like to say I've fully thought this out, but it never hurts to keep checking to see if there's an angle I haven't considered well. I can't absorb these fast enough.
Jason here - Pre-congratulations on being 19 days away from FIRE, Lance! How exciting is that? I will say that no matter how much planning + analysis you do, there's always another way to look at things. And if you're doing that as much as I did, surely you won't find you missed something big. But there are always tweaks and adjustments that can be considered along the way. Best wishes to you on your journey! Central NY is certainly a beautiful part of the state. The town can be a little...provincial at times, but that's the nature of small towns. In many ways it was a great place to grow up.
LOL - when you talk about not being good salary negotiators for first jobs. Hey, you were already ahead of the game for even asking. I didn't even know I could negotiate until my 4th job. Female, Asian, immigrant parents - exactly as you said, they didn't know so they couldn't pass those skills on to me. But now my son will know better! Keep hustling guys. Great content.
Enjoying your conversation! I'm 22 years old right now and have a chance to learn a lot of stuff from you. Also, I'm in the architecture industry as a drafter. Thanks for providing this resource.
I wanted to add that if you're new to the channel you should check out Eric's other channel. You may have no specific interest in architecture per se, but the videography and his narration of his thought processes are beautiful.
Thanks, Randy! And I'm allowed to fully agree with you as this is Jason responding to your comment and not Eric. I'm no architect but I've been enjoying his channel for years. Here's the link for those who don't know it: ua-cam.com/users/30by40
@@TwoSidesOfFI hahaha... that’s a good one! but no... my parents struggled to provide for me too and how going to some of my friends’ homes was eye-opening... oh, but they do not have electric can-openers 😂
@@nelsonang it's so interesting to me how those experiences stick with you. I have such vivid memories of going to the houses of my friends. Thank you for sharing and for watching!
I really liked the content. Only recommendation would be to let your guest speaker a little more. There was a long chunk of video in the middle where it seemed like your guest wanted to contribute.
Cheers Walter, thanks for watching...I'll tell my co-host (not a guest) he needs to interrupt me more frequently! This was our very first episode so we're still finding our footing...appreciate the feedback.
Feel kinda bad for you people in USA, i mean, in our country we have free education, from kindergarden to university, 19 years of education for free... This kind of makes me gratefull for what i have.
What country? I was watching BBC about different geographies having it just as bad or worst than US in homelessness and poverty. Sometimes working your way and not having it government funded builds character and appreciation. No need to feel sorry, proud 🇺🇸

Thanks so much for the kind words, Dianna.
"The T-bird was amazing." I couldn't agree more.
Ha! It was an iconic automobile, for sure. I have so many fond memories of that car.

I've really enjoyed listening to these conversations. Thanks to both of you for putting this project together.
Enjoying your new UA-cam Channel! Found my way here from 30x40. Happy Coincidence, I went to RPI, Architecture school - graduated 94/95. :)
Thank you! We appreciate the feedback. You were definitely classmates with Jason in that case!

Thanks for the comment, Linda. Indeed, much of what we now know came through hard learned lessons! Thanks for your support.

Lived in extreme child poverty, no AC…washing machines….telephones so savings and survival mindset. Interested to listening to these videos.
Deserve more subscribers and you will. Good sharing
Thanks very much!
Dang I'm 40 and don't have an electric can opener which means my teenager might think we are poor.
5:28 also a very awesome 70s/80s couch 🌻, but didn't make the starter pack meme
Very true! Ha!
Do you have a Link about the "FIRE" that you spoke about? knowing about it? I don't get that part.

Don't feel bad for us, just recognize that when something is "free", you're the product!
