Nostalgic commercials better than todays commercials.
Hello childhood... RIP Blockbuster
I was 12 in 2001, I hated that year but looking back I took it for granted. What I’d do to go back.
@@pilgrimsprogress3237 I was sitting in Algebra class when it happened. The principal came on the intercom and had the teachers turn on the news.
For me the first few months weren't bad. The 2nd half of 2001, even shortly before 9/11 is a different story.
man these commercials were so fun!
2001. The year everything changed.
More DVD's at Blockbuster = Zero rewind fees
A better time.
You don’t like our ridiculous inflated economy and sad state of society currently??
We used to skip the commercials and watch the tv shows. Now we skip the tv shows and watch the commercials.
42 inch lcd tv in 2001? That dude is loaded.
I've binged old commercials for the past few days...and you can see more computer ads being added in around this time...it was exciting at the time but now I cringe because they had no idea how things would get out of hand....
It makes me wish things have gone a different way. Everything got so stale and safe due to how the internet was corporatized.
I like this, but I'm also very depressed now.
The time of no smart phones, just landlines and pagers. Wow have the times changed and not for the better.
There were cellphones, just not really “smart phones” yet. I was surprised to see pager commercials because cellphone texting would soon replace the need for that.
@@ValSempai well there was messaging, which was very dangerous… that’s how the show how to catch a predator started (yahoo messenger, aol)
Fun fact:
Ryan Family Amusement Center is located in Raynham, Massachusetts, and is still opperational 21 years later.
That's actually pretty cool.
I guess we should be glad it didn't get turned into a vape shop🤣
It's amazing how 90s so many of these feel, yet also with very heavy hints of the 2000s culture to come (esp Y2K) and even old licks of the 80s. I was born 98 yet it feels surreal, almost fake. The simple sincerity even in the humor of the time!
A much better time, yet I was just having no care in the world that time
Damn, I miss the times taking my bike down the nearby Blockbuster just getting a movie or two along with a game
My daughter was born in 2001 she just turned 21 , time goes by fast because this feels like it happened yesterday lol
God, I miss Blockbuster
I had that exact Gateway PC and I’m shopping for that exact Acura 😮
Before virtual “learning” and social media.
8:03 - I remember the Cingular commercial from my childhood.
Commercials were worth watching back then
@15:38 This commercial was well executed. I almost forgot calling long distance was a thing.
I wanna drive my silver rsx to blockbuster and DVD the right way 🙂
Ah, Nick at Nite. When they didn't show Friends for 5 hours a night because they offered variety. And also, @27:28 that's Julie Bowen from Modern Family.
Hell this was back before all cable TV was nothing but a run on marathon of one or two shows a day.
Cornelius Raibon wear blockbuster t-shirt love Blockbusters video commercials 2000’s so much
Wild to see local ads on here. Nevermind the fact I'm*willingly* watching ads.
Great commercials very nostalgic.... Right before the world went to crap 😉👍
Yep it was the very last of a normal era before everything went to hell 21 years later. Miss it so much
@@UrbanNoizeMusic It all changed after 9/11, then things changed again with the pandemic the crap that followed.
funny how this video is the 80s flashback now
That Janet Jackson Icon thing aired best I can find March 13 2001. So this places these ads around that time.
Memories 😢 thanks
9:57-9:59 Blockbuster literally could've changed their business model and did their own Netflix without closing it down. ... I miss the importance of rewinding tapes, watching a video a million times before returning and seeing school friends in blockbuster cause it was cool if you had a Blockbuster Card. 😅
No more Blockbuster 😭
Holy hell these commercials were the best!!
A more civilized era…
Yeah... This is right about the time I stopped watching TV.
Man I miss my childhood 😭
2002 around spidermans release🙏🏻
I want to go to Mystic bowling!!
2001 babies wya 🤩🤩🔥
@4:17 I remember that commercial it made me lol so hard my stomach hurt for like an hour 🤣
I was 10 years old in 2001
I remember those ads for X amount of minutes for X amount of price. Got hella expensive fast tho :(
I was 18 and just graduated 🏫 high school
Poor Blockbuster....
I enjoyed this.. really I didm👍🏿🇺🇸
ads as old as my car babyyyyy
Say, I can't remember the name of the commercial in 2003 where 2 ladies are being chased by roasted turkey or chicken, and at the end one of the women wears a sleeping mask. What is it?
How about that Blockbuster. It really was better than Netflix. Minus the outrageous late fees
Red
I heard alot of bad things about TiVo
Now commercials are all cucked, pozzed, and references to pop culture.
It's amazing how little has actually changed in the past 20 years. People are still wearing the same clothes and some of these commercials are actually still being used. Think about how much things changed in the 90s, sometimes month to month with new processors, and think about how little the next 20 years changed. Sometimes it seems like technology has stalled.
Yeah seems we hit a "modern" era when it comes to casual style. Like it reached an equilibrium
@Hydroflask56 they’re literally trying to get us all sucked into the metaverse. Technology has gone too far. Sometimes I hope a solar flare shoots down and permanently wipes out the Internet
Dude what the hell are you talking about everything has changed I am 40 years old things are way different back in the 90s and early 2000s this is a completely different country With progressive wokeism and SJW BS Our society has turned its completely changed
#SuchNostalgiaIndeed!
Here we are 20 some years later watching the same commercials on purpose.
