Fund a Scholarship for a Dominican or Haitian kid!

ENGLISH VERSION: We are Isaac and Kathy Trujillo, two teachers who opened a school and a Foundation in 2020: ESD ( European School - Dominican Republic). We are located in Cabarete, in the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
We opened the school with all our heart and savings, with the hope of giving children the opportunity for a better education. We started last year with 17 kids, 2 classrooms and a few tables!
Now, a year after, thanks to a lot of effort and work, we were able to build 4 more classrooms, a library, and a playground for our 45 students!
Since the beginning, we have tried to create a space where we seek to support low-income families of the community, to give Dominican and Haitian children a better future. We have already awarded 6 scholarships to Liventz, Meraly, Breathnie, Nick, Jomarie and Genesis, and the results are amazing! They are learning a lot, making friends, and they love their school and teachers.
These scholarships are a way to break the cycle of poverty. We want to expand the program and give MORE SCHOLARSHIPS for kids in the waiting list. For that, we need your help!
Why is it so important to support children from the local community? In the DR, more than 40% of the population lives below poverty standards, requiring many children to leave school and start working at a young age to contribute to their family´s livelihood. Combine that with a high rate of teen pregnancy and you can see why we are so committed to this community!

Hola! Somos Isaac y Kathy Trujillo, dos maestros que abrimos una escuela y una Fundación en 2020: ESD (European School- Dominican Republic). Estamos ubicados en Cabarete, en la Costa Norte de la República Dominicana.
Abrimos la escuela con todo nuestro corazón y nuestros ahorros, con la esperanza de darles a los niños la oportunidad de una mejor educación. Empezamos el año pasado con 17 niños, 2 aulas y un par de mesas...
Ahora, 1 año después, gracias a mucho esfuerzo y trabajo, ¡pudimos construir 4 aulas más, una biblioteca y un área de juegos y columpios para nuestros 45 estudiantes!
Desde el inicio, hemos tratado de crear un espacio en el que procuramos apoyar a las familias de escasos recursos de la Comunidad, para darles un mejor futuro a los niños dominicanos y haitianos. Ya hemos regalado 6 becas a Liventz, Meraly, Breathnie, Nick, Jomarie y Genesis, ¡y la verdad es que los resultados son increíbles! Están aprendiendo mucho, haciendo amigos y aman su escuela y sus maestros.
Estas becas son una forma de romper el ciclo de pobreza en el que se encuentran. Queremos expandir el programa y dar MÁS BECAS a niños que tanto las necesitan. Para eso, ¡necesitamos tu ayuda!
¿Por qué es tan importante apoyar a estos niños? En RD, más del 40% de la población vive por debajo de los estándares de pobreza, lo que hace que muchos de los niños abandonen los estudios para comenzar a trabajar con 12 años o menos y contribuir al sustento de su familia. ¡Combinen eso con una alta tasa de embarazo adolescente y entenderán por qué estamos tan preocupados por esta comunidad!
