- A beginning to end HD playthrough of Reef Entertainment's 2014 PC game, Rambo: The Video Game.
I don't care what all of the reviews say. I loved the original Rambo trilogy, I love light gun style shooters, and this game is the perfect representation of all of that. Rambo lets you level up for new abilities, has random quicktime and stealth events, and lots of holding the left mouse button down when hovering over some guy's head. Anyone that likes things like Time Crisis, Lethal Enforcers, or Ghost Squad will thoroughly enjoy controlling latex-mask Sly shooting at endless copies of Vietkong apparently sharing far too close of a gene pool.
The game was played all the way through on the Normal difficulty mode, and before starting I had leveled Rambo to the max, Lvl. 20 (that's why the headshot triggers a temporary slowdown in the latter half of the game. At the time of the recording I was ranked 18th overall worldwide by the in-game leaderboards. The game has only been out 4 days, but still, I'm excited :) I really enjoyed this game, and don't feel bitter at all for paying full price.
If you like rail shooters similar to old-school arcade lightgun games, you'll love it, no question. If you think that rail shooters are dull or a waste (because they don't feature 50 hours of new gameplay, good sound quality, more than 5 character models to be pasted across the entire game), this is not at all the game for you.
On the plus side, it's requirements are pretty modest at this point: I'm running a Radeon 6750 on an FX8350 and still get 60 frames uninterrupted on 1080p with the highest details. I had to knock it down to 720p to avoid random stutters with FRAPS, though.

Why do all these new games ignore the last Rambo movie? It was a great ending for the character and finally saw him get the inner peace he deserved. I'm tired of seeing games resort to going back to Rambo 3 as their finale.

Oh yeah, I got that. Still, though, acknowledgment of his continued story could have really helped flesh it out more I think. Oh well, I liked the ending of the game well enough as it was

This game looks fun it’s like an arcade game
15:00 Stallone did his own stunts for the filming of First Blood, and during the filming of the cliff dive scene, he broke a rib when he hit the tree. But he finished the scene and the producers didn't find out about the broken rib until later.

Yeah I had never seen it, watch Rambo tonight and went looking. This will without a doubt be the last time I see this. Maybe with the last installment coming someone will do a real stealth game to rival that of Metal Gear that will work its, way through all the movies.

The biggest problem with this game was that it was on-rails and not free movement. Crazy how good Teyon's games are these days with the amazing Terminator and Robocop games. They've really stepped their game up.
I guess people in the comment section were all born when arcade rail shooters were around like Lethal Enforcers 1-2-3 Virtual Cop 1-2-3 House of the dead 1-2-3-4 and Time Crisis 1-2-3-4

The developers behind this did actually just publish a good Terminator Resistance game. Trust me its good but nobody knows it because it flyes under the radar. It dont basicly bring anything new but it does give solid fps shooting, pretty good game mechanics and tremendous service to fans of two og Terminator flicks. I gotta say that it propably is the best Terminator related game ever. Yes its not perfect by all means but considering how little they advertised it, a very few people know its existence. And when they know and hear who made it, they expect it to suck and steer clear of it. It will definetely be remembered atleast as a minor hidden gem of this gen in 10y from now.
They’re apparently working on a RoboCop game now. If it’s anything like Terminator Resistance, I’m optimistic, especially given that Peter Weller is back to voice RoboCop.

Shame they had to make this a light gun game without supporting any light guns. This looks better than the NES game.
You actually can use a light gun for it. Most of the modern guns for LCD screens track the gun with through the mouse pointer :)

Good question. I could only guess that a rail shooter is way cheaper and easier to make? I'd hate to see what would happen if they tried to blow the design out that much on the same budget :p Btw I love the Missile icon, that dog made me laugh more than it should have playing the game :)
I'd prefer something more like Metal Gear Solid, but there's always time to make a good Rambo game.
NintendoComplete No, actually.. this was meant as a remake to the old 1980s/early 90s railgun shooter.. The issue was.. a lot of gamers just didn't realize it because they had never heard of or played the early railgun shooter of Rambo... Is it sad that I used to own it? ....Yeah... probably...

I had finished the game and unlocked everything, then played it again.
Now understand, this game is very difficult, they could have made the game a little better.
Type have the freedom to walk and hide style call of duty and medal of honor and is not only shooting and hiding and has parts that do not give to hide, have healing items and etc.
That could've been cool, but I really enjoyed the simplicity of this one. Reminded me of stuff like Time Crisis and Lethal Enforcers! :D
