I think that's a fair list for one of the best franchises in NFL history, yet still there are great 49ers players that aren't on this list, that's how deep the reputation of legends from the 49ers goes
@@Honeibadgerr I think Montana gets far too much credit. The 49ers couldn't win until they had Ronnie Lott and Fred Dean leading that defense. I personally would put: 1. Rice 2. Lott 3. Montana I must also admit that I've met Montana, and I haven't liked him since, so it's entirely possible I have a squewed opinion as well.
Love the inclusion of Nomellini. Patrick Willis, Frank Gore, Terrell Owens, Bob St. Clair, and those guys in the Million Dollar Backfield deserve mentions.
The list is right this time. People forgot that Montana won 2 Super Bowls before Rice came to the 49ers. Honorable Mention: Roger Craig, R.C. Owens, John Brodie, Gene Washington, Dwight Clark, Dwight Hicks, Tom Rathman, Patrick Willis, Freddie Solomon, and Brent Jones.
As a teenager going to games at Candlestick I sat next to a guy who wore a Nomellini jersey. It’s good to see Leo getting the respect that he earned as one of the greatest players in 49er history.
I hate how Steve Young never gets the respect that he deserves, I think that he could possibly be the greatest qb of all time, there is no denying his run game and Joe Montana said he is the greatest passer he had ever seen
where's Richard Sherman? He's the 49ers all time touchdown leading corner/receiver. Him and Kaep back in the day were vicious, the most dangerous duo of the NFL
According to the top 100 greatest players of all time His list would look this- 5. Leo Nomielli NR 4. Steve Young 81 3. Ronnie Lott 11 2. Joe Montana 4 1. Jerry Rice 1
Hi NFL i will be playing NFL when i get older...i am already in high school...and also love your vids on football...i watch these videos etc. alot...hope ya'll keep this going. :)
I mostly agree with Elliot Harrison's list. But I think it's more of a "Most Impactful" list rather than "Top" list. I have been a 49ers fan for 49 years and I knew the players who came before Joe Montana. Hell, I even know the players who came before John Brodie. Here's my list of the Top 30 49ers Players of All Time: 1. Jerry Rice 2. Joe Montana 3. Ronnie Lott 4. Steve Young 5. Jimmy Johnson 6. Leo Nomelini 7. Roger Craig 8. Frank Gore 9. Bryant Young 10. Charles Haley 11. Hugh McElhenny 12. John Brodie 13. Joe Perry 14. Patrick Willis 15. Terrell Owens 16. Y. A. Tittle 17. Randy Cross 18. Dwight Clark 19. Eric Wright 20. Steve Wallace 21. Bob St. Clair 22. Gene Washington 23. Justin Smith 24. Dave Wilcox 25. Dana Stubblefield 26. John Taylor 27. Jeff Garcia 28. Vernon Davis 29. Merton Hanks 30. Abe Woodson
You've never seen Leo play, have you?! He was dominant in a time when some stats were not tabulated(prime was then), but 10 time PBer and to be a PBer at both DT and OL should tell you how quality he was...
Top 10 49ers in My Opinion 10. John Brodie 9. Dwight Clark 8. Roger Craig 7. Frank Gore 6. Bryant Young 5. Patrick Willis 4. Steve Young 3. Ronnie Lott 2. Jerry Rice 1. Joe Montana

Well, you actually made a great point after watching about 4 of these...Joe Montana over Rice because he got things rolling with Walsh out of no wheresville.
+Laith A. One of the main reasons they got to a SB and when he played first team all-pro 5/7 yrs 7 yrs probowl for his 7 seasons... put that in perspective Ray Lewis had 7 in his career. I consider Ray better overall but coverage LB few like this guy most older era guys likely get smoked by Jimmy Graham or Gronk.
Only speaking for the people I grew up watching. In no order, offense Montana, Young, Rice, T.O. Gore. Def, Lott, Willis, Justin Smith (I know we didn’t draft him) Haley,
If Roger Craig is arguably the number 6 49er of all time. The first player to have a thousand yards receiving and a thousand yards rushing in the same season. Only Marshal Faulk has done it since then (there might have been a guy last year). Why isn't Roger Craig in the hall of fame?
+EJMtheGREAT yeah I was guessing because they always try and put a player on there who hasn't even played long. I was just joking around. I knew there should have been a different person and there was.

Don't hate me for saying this but I would have put Patrick Willis somewhere on this list
I don't hate you, just your comment.
You don't know Leo, then...He made AP on the OL and at DT! Decorated and dominant! If you only have 5 spots, he goes in there somewhere!
Love the inclusion of Nomellini. Patrick Willis, Frank Gore, Terrell Owens, Bob St. Clair, and those guys in the Million Dollar Backfield deserve mentions.

Before watching this list i knew that there were going to 4 players I probably know on the list in Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and some guy that i've never heard or seen play.
You watched it before
DeAndre Jackson I didn't, i commented before the video about who would be on the list and I was right.
For my money Joe Rice and Jerry Montana were the greatest Qb/ Wr combo in the 80s. Hands down.

I'm a niner fan been one since the 80's they was my first team I watch when I was young my top 5 is 1 Jerry rice 2 Steve young 3 Joe Montana 4 ronnie lot 5 Aldon smith

I'm looking for Bob St.Clair on these lists...possibly the most dominant OL of the 1950s-early 1960s!
Alain Jose Luque you’re probably not that old
Well, you actually made a great point after watching about 4 of these...Joe Montana over Rice because he got things rolling with Walsh out of no wheresville.
Limiting this to give was crazy. You could have listed twenty and still not gone through the whole roll of greats.
Where is WILLIS??????
retired too young
+Laith A. One of the main reasons they got to a SB and when he played first team all-pro 5/7 yrs 7 yrs probowl for his 7 seasons... put that in perspective Ray Lewis had 7 in his career. My list Montana rice young lott and haley
DO TOP TEN TEXANS/OILERS PLEASE
I think you really can't pick between Joe and Jerry. I also think John Tayler helped both. Watch his highlights.
82 john Taylor was pretty dang good two 90+yard tds vs rams way back till t.o came jt was mainly jerrys no2 guy
This list is wrong I mean comon Jerry rice is the best football player ever joe Montana is good too though
Gore and Willis should be on here gore is a top 5 rusher in nfl history

Alex Miron best he isn't a top 5 49er of all time
The San Francisco 49ers are the Crown Jewel of the NFL💎( I know that's a diamond) Suck it Dallas!!!!!
john talor might be the most underated player in football.
Who I predict is on the list before I watch: Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, and Deion Sanders.
+Solomon Kessington deion was there for 1 season
+EJMtheGREAT yeah I was guessing because they always try and put a player on there who hasn't even played long. I was just joking around. I knew there should have been a different person and there was.
+Solomon Kessington you play too much madden
+MuzzTV Gaming and More! wtf?
Joe Montana and Steve young were lucky to have Jerry rice as a target...that is why rice should be #1
Maybe Jerry Rice was the lucky one for having Young and Montana as his QBs
+Mike Hawk W
Mike Hawk Jerry rice went to a super bowl with the raiders in 2002
is that why Joe already was a 2 time champ even before Rice.......L
+Tyrone Biggums Montana had won 2 Championships before Rice was even drafted. Rice and the Raiders got blowout in that Super Bowl.
Do the Dolphins next
