Yeah bang on! Saw them a few times in London Inc first time at the Camden Falcon, those tiny pub gigs can be the greatest, normally people just chatter whilst the band plays cos they know nothing about them but in under 20 seconds they had the whole audience!
The last time they were in Houston (Numbers) after the Wild Moccasin set; Dean visited with the audience and then went on stage played a soul rendering show with Luna. One of the best days of my life.

Didn't read your summary all the way so at first I was wondering how you got all the different perspectives and closeups. I assume no one messed with your equipment once you set it up at the back of the venue. I feel your pain regarding the rude hipster - one of the downsides of being at a packed show, but these days I even miss that!
