Mary & George will premiere on STARZ on April 5.
    About Mary & George:
Mary & George is inspired by the unbelievable true story of Mary Villiers (Julianne Moore), who moulded her beautiful and charismatic son, George (Nicholas Galitzine), to seduce King James I (Tony Curran) and become his all-powerful lover. Through outrageous scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become the richest, most titled and influential players the English court had ever seen, and the King’s most trusted advisors. And with England’s place on the world stage under threat from outside forces and rioters taking to the streets to denounce the King, the stakes could not have been higher.
Prepared to stop at nothing and armed with her ruthless political steel, Mary married her way up the ranks, bribed politicians, colluded with criminals and clawed her way into the heart of the Establishment, making it her own. Mary & George is a dangerously daring historical psychodrama about an outrageous mother and son who schemed, seduced and killed to conquer the court of England and the bed of King James I.

The best fact of this series is that it's so unapologetic about sexuality and it's presented in such a normal way that won't make u feel uncomfortable to watch 👏

What terrific interviews, with some wonderful facts revealed. Especially good to see David Moore being so enthusiastic, so knowledgeable and so positive in so many ways. A terrific writer. We live and learn! PS - If anyone reading becomes fascinated by the Jacobean era and it's reality, take a look at some (revenge tragedy) plays written at the time; especially those of John Webster, and especially The White Devil, which has so many echoes of this series. And Shakespeare's little known but thematically similar Measure For Measure.

Wow! The Archbishop of Cantebury had a naughty dream about George Villiers? Did not know that. And thanks for that. 😘 The more you know....

I watched the series couple of days ago and I liked it... How George became from young crybaby to being a snake in a nest of snakes and how he later turned against her as he gained independence from his mother (through king and by getting a castle for his wife & kids)... The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't show his relationship with his siblings & half/step-family whom George also helped to gain positions in UK.. And also I didn't like that in trailers it was shown that it's all about sex - which is true for 1st 4 episodes and a scene in last episode (there was no single scene with Nick as George having long hair in trailer)
