I am just watching this and don't know if anybody already said this: you say with the washi tape if you would have worked on the other page you could have just slid it in. But you still can do that, just turn the washi tape around to the non sticky side, slide it in and then fold it over the page you want to protect. I hope this makes sense!
Ohh why didn’t I think of that haha 😅 great idea 💡 ❤️
Exactly what I needed to really grasp what I always saw you doing on the Kerby pages! The repetition you feared was perfect to really drill into the technique. I find myself repeating it as a mantra. Thank you so much, Karen!
So glad it was helpful, I've been tap, tap, tapping in my head since this too 😅🤗🤍
I love your tutorials so much !!! Thank you for all the work you put into your videos!
Aww thank you so much ☺️
So cool. I didn't consider a second layer...
Could you do a tutorial video on how to make a cloudy sky? Maybe with neocolour II and pencil?
Sure thing! 😁
Hi there Karen, I'm new to your channel and so enjoying your tutorials. Your colouring is amazing. Thank you for this tutorial, I bought these crayons a few years ago, used them once then left them on the shelf. I'm going to give them a go after watching your video, 💖
Thank you so very much for this tutorial! You have no idea how happy I am to have this knowledge of how to get this look with Neocolor II!
My husband bought me the 84 set for Christmas and I had watched another tutorial for how to do a similar background look to yours but when I tried to do it, I ended up ruining my picture! 😢
I’ve not picked the Neocolor II’s up since then but have been feeling guilty not using them since I know how expensive they are!
After watching your tutorial, I feel more confident in attempting to try a background again!
Thank you for being so detailed in your demonstration and really explaining things! ❤❤
Ohh I hope this helps Jessica. I did something similar after my first attempt I shoved them in a drawer lol took me years to pull them back out and try again. 🤍
I can’t say thank you enough. This demonstration explains so well what I need to do. Wonderful video!
Ohh thank you so much 🤍🤗
Thank you so much for the video! ❤
You are so welcome 😁
great tutorial, i just purchase the 15pack of neocolors to try out this video explained how to use them nicely. thank you!
You’re very welcome, have fun 🤗🥰
Thank you so much, this was awesome! I would love to see a tutorial on how to iron pages, as I ´m struggling with the warping of the page. Thank you so much for your effort. I love your channel!
You're very welcome 😁 Thank you ❤️🥰
I was messing around with my Neocolor II crayons and discovered that they are erasable before and after they have been activated. I was erasing some pencil guidelines and the color came off with the pencil. I couldn't believe it. Warm wishes from Minnesota! ❤️❤️❤️ May your pencils always be sharp and your colors never bleed.
Thanks for this nice, clear demonstration! Lots of good hints and reminders 💚💚💚
You’re very welcome lovely 😁🤍
Wow, love how your background turned out turned out. Thank you this wonderful step by step tutorial.
You're so very welcome 🥰🤗
Thank you !!! neocolor 2 seem easier than Derwent intense. And you give us plenty of tricks… the tap-tap- tap effect to avoid lines! Here in France you have plenty of « fans » because your works and your colouring are very elegant .
Ohh thanks so much, I appreciate it! Yeah they're definitely less tricky than the inktense, much easier to manipulate the product 🤍🤗
Amazing ❤!! I really like the result, And by the way I like how fast you did the background 2 hours only if it were me it would take me the whole day to finish it 😂🤩
Oh thank you so much Gamra 🥰🤗
I just purchased my Neocolor 2. Perfect tutorial! Thank you so much!💚
You’re very welcome ☺️
Thank you so much Karen on your tutorial for neo colour 2s. It really taught me what I needed to know about them. Especially the blending technique and the tap tap tap. It was really informative and very much appreciated. Your tutorials are the best and so informative. Please keep on doing them. Regards Kathleen . Renmark S. Aust.
Thank you, Kathleen! I'm so happy you found it helpful. Your kind words truly mean a lot to me, and I'm glad you find my tutorials informative. I'll definitely keep them coming! Happy colouring 🎨✨
Thankyou so much for this video!! I have the 84 set that's been sat in the box since Christmas day because I've been so intimidated by them🤣x
You got this! Mine sat in a drawer gathering dust for a while too haha, but definitely worth pulling them out and giving them a go 🤗🥰
So pretty. I love the green colors you used, and how it turned out. This tutorial was very helpful. Thanks for sharing!💖💚💙💜
Thanks Stella, so happy you found it helpful 🤗
Excellent video Karen , you are a good teacher 😍💖💚💚💚
Thank you so very much Eileen! 😃
I love the vibrant greens background! I have the 40 count set of Neocolor II though I don't use them often enough...very nice demonstration thank you!
Thank you hun and you’re so welcome 🤗
Excellent video. You teach and explain things so well. Your coloring is beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you so much 🤍🤗🥰
Thank you Karen I really needed this tutorial , I have about 20 neocolors but can see how using a 4 color blend gives amazing results . I’m off to the art shop( I’m lucky it’s only 10 mins away) to get some more colors . 😊
Oooh you lucky duck. Although if I lived that close I'd never leave haha Enjoy 🤍🤍
Thanks Karen! That was an awesome video. I am off to play with this new technique🥰
Thank you so much Paula, enjoy 🤍
Hi Karen, your background is absolutely gorgeous. I appreciate how well you explain everything. I've been wanting to get my Neo ll's out and do a background, I think you've been inspired me to do that lol. Thank you so much for sharing this background!
You are so welcome Keni! Have fun 🖍️😁
@@MyColourfulCountryLife It will be fun alright, even if it's not successful.😆
Very beautiful indeed! Thanks for sharing.😊
Thanks for watching 🤍🥰🤗
Please do color combinations for the Neo lls and Derwent Inktense. As always, your tutorials are very helpful.
Will do Leslie 🤗
Thanks so much for explaining it very well, showing every aspect and the repeating helps! 🥰.
Curiosity question…whenever I see people using the water brushes, there always seems to be a lot of dabbing on a cloth or paper towel to absorb extra water. Wouldn’t it be easier to use a paint brush and cup of water for more control? Maybe I’m missing something, but would love to hear your thoughts on why you (or most people) don’t use normal brush and water instead 🤔. Thank you!
So when I'm dabbing on the cloth it's to remove the colour most of the time so I don't bring the dark into the light or vice versa. If using a paint brush and water you would be cleaning the colour off the brush in your water and then have to dab the water off onto a cloth, so it kind of skips a step. Hope that helps 😊
Thank you hunny , great video 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Oh vaut coloriage sont ❤ wouah sublime j'adore trop
Thanks so much Francine 🥰
This is great Karen! Thank you so much ❤
You’re very welcome ☺️ 🤗
Gorgeous 😍
Thank you! 😊
I love watching your videos. You make anything seem possible. The background looks amazing! Have you ever used FC gelatos for backgrounds?
Thanks so much Christine. Good question, I think I own gelatos but I’m not quite sure haha clearly if I do I don’t use them much as I can’t recall lol I’ll have to have a look when I’m home from holidays 🤗
That’s fine. Enjoy your holiday. Thank you!
Very helpfull. Thank you.
Glad to hear it! you're very welcome 😁❤️
Thank you for this tutorial. It was so amazing to watch your process. I was looking at purchasing a small set but you convinced me that I need the bigger set!
Definitely get a larger set. I was gifted a 10 color set and I'm stuck on how to use them. I have trouble with color combinations which is why I'm so grateful for Karen. All her work is beautiful.
I'd definitely recommend the larger set myself, but I use mine quite a lot. You can also get a smaller set to begin with and add onto them by buying individual crayons as you use them more 🤗
@@MyColourfulCountryLife I'm thinking about ordering some open stock online. Which colors do you recommend I add to the 10 pack I currently have?
Thanks so much totally appreciate all the effort you go to to help us on our colouring journey xxx
You’re very welcome Michelle 💚🤍
@@MyColourfulCountryLife on a side note I ordered my neo I through Jackson art in Australia for $2.81. They came well packaged and delivered quite fast. I’m in rural South Australia
That was supposed to be neo ii
@user-mr5xi9hy8b ooh good to know! Thank you 😁
Thankyou soooooo much for this tutorial on backgrounds it’s really helpful and you expto me. I love how you showed each step from beginning to the beautiful finish ❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome hun 🤗😁
@@MyColourfulCountryLife expto??!!!! 🙈😂 I hope you got “inspire” from that 💖😘
@120_colours haha I filled it in with my own words 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome tutorial, just what I needed. I can apply your techniques to the Distress watercolour pencils too 🙂
Glad it was helpful, and yes it'll work perfectly with the distress watercolour pencils too 😊
OMG Karen.... Scrimble scrimble scrimble, tap tap tap I have in my head now 😁 and it works beautifully 💚 many thanks
I love watching your videos and have learnt much from you. There’s a book out called Fantasy Fairy Homes Grayscale. It’s published by I S publishing and is full of beautiful mushrooms and fairy homes. It’s a bit daunting and I don’t know where to start. I was wondering if you would be interested in getting that book (if you don’t already have it) and colouring some pages in there. The front of the book is very dark with bright blue background and a fantastic tree house. I thought that you would bring it to life. Thank you for your beautiful inspiration. 😊
I have prisma pencils, poly chromos and acrylic paints.
Merci beaucoup pour vôtre technique je comprends pas mes quand vous colorié c'est très facile Merci ❤
Thank you 🤍
Thank you for the very detailed and helpful tutorial May I ask, does the colour fade when you pick up the colour directly with water from the Neo's? ~EL
Not at all, you get more vibrant colour when you pick it up from the crayon 😊
@@MyColourfulCountryLife Thanks Karen I am curious if the pigment in the crayon changes over time, since water has been applied to it directly Apologies if my question was confusing (now that I read it again...lol!) from your video it's pretty evident that the payoff is more vibrant when used directly from the crayon
Please could you pin the colours you used, excellent tutorial just what I was looking for
Merci beaucoup pour ce tuto, j ai la boîte de 84 crayons mais j arrive pas à les utiliser, hélas
Donc merci beaucoup ❤❤❤
You're very welcome ❤️
What do I do if I accidentally bought neocolors 1?
Oh no! Can you return them?
@@MyColourfulCountryLife I think so. Looks like I'll have to pay for return shipping and a restocking fee. I got them through Blick.
Ohh that sucks.
thank you .... its awesome ....
Thanks so much hun 🤗
