I still remember when F(x) was so big in Korea. They were one of the best selling girl groups during the time when girl groups had difficulty with their sales because boy groups were more profitable. And let's not forget Pink Tape, one of the best kpop albums ever made.
Such a shame that luck and timing just wasn't on their side. And oh, SM.
Amber mentioned in a previous podcast that f(x) hasn't disbanded, as well as Luna also confirming that f(x) is one and are not going to disband. Amber said before that right now they're all busy doing their own thing. And once the time comes where they're all free to come together again, they will comeback. We don't know when, but it'll happen soon in the future.

I'm very sad f(x) didnt get another comeback and then Sulli sadly passed away. I still hope one day f(x) will come back and possibly pay a tribute to sulli in the process of that.
I'm sad that F(X) is starting to become SM's "forgotten" group. Like even when shows and interviews talk about SM Entertainment and their groups, F(X) doesn't really get mentioned much any more. I've been waiting for a comeback since 2016 and then as the years went by, NOTHING. Meanwhile SM's other groups were cranking out 2-3 comebacks a year. Then when the 10 year anniversary came around, I was hoping we'd get at least SOMETHING, like a special song or god I would've been happy with a group photo but again, nothing. I want to hold out hope that we'll see F(X) together on stage again one day, but seeing as every one has been busy doing their own thing since 2015, Idk...I don't want my heart broken or get my hopes up too much. Every new year since 2016, I've been wishing "this year will be the year F(x) makes a comeback".I know the members say they haven't disbanded yet but again, so many groups have done this where the members go their separate ways but not disband, yet very few actually make a comeback as a group. This was the the first Kpop group I really got in to and started following. Its sad to see them kind of fade in to a memory.
I really really hope I am wrong and F(X) pops up one day. PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG F(X)!

True. There was a time when RV keeps on having a comeback song and I was thinking maybe one of their songs was for Fx but then the busy schedules of the members didn't fit, so it went to RV instead ☹️
coolgirl312 fx has always been under promoted. 2011/2012 was their prime. but after, sm started to give them 1 single and 1 album per year (no repackage) so they couldn’t maintain their popularity

@@kyokugo6460 It's true. I said something like this a few months back on another video and I got so much hate. Sure, the members might want to make more music and they do talk about that idea, but I have seen no action on any one of them to get the ball rolling. I understand they are doing individual activities and that's great (I mean I will be going to watch Amber's concert soon) but if they really wanted to, they would find a slot in their schedule to make it happen, including Victoria.

@@jei-has-thoughts That's kind of right. But right now the member's priority is their solo career in which they have been working so hard this last year's, I understand that f(x) is not in first place for them anymore. I just hope they do come back anytime in the future, I don't care when.

They didn't "disband" they just didn't resign their contracts, and two members no longer live in Korea lol. Even Amber didn't resign her contract and is no longer with SM. So how is there a hope for an fx?
@@justgigi9545 they dont need to be under contract to come back.. it may not be the typical comeback with tons of promos (like it ever was for f(x) lol) but the chance of reuniting is pretty high in my eyes

When Sulli made a comeback with Goblin, I got my hopes up that somehow f(5) would find a way to get back together. I wish we lived in a different reality where people weren’t so cruel.

I think i got the point on amber's explaination. Back when they're still at SM, the Korea-China's limitation issue will always be the problem for Victoria, So its kinda hard to find all 4 together. F(x) are known also as SHINee twin sister group, with the same agenda are push to both. I just don't know what went wrong.😢
I always think some content is better than no content at all. Even if Victoria wasn’t there, I feel like I’d take the 3 members to at least keep things moving if that makes sense
@@andredrw289 f(x) got something unplanned when suddenly Sulli chose out of the group when the were so Popular at that time. Maybe, SM will not do project or anything if the group not really complete. So, they will choose make a solo , duo or everything to change the concept.

I do think a lot of the tensions with China got in the way, in terms of getting Victoria involved. It’s a shame. The girls took on a lot of projects to keep going and getting paid during f(x) hiatus and then ended up being way too busy and conflicted - it really is down to poor management
I was wondering the other day why Jackson can still promote both in China and SK. Like he posted chinese flag when HK issue was fueling up.
Late reply (since it's been 2 months and you might know this already), but the main reason why Jackson can promote is because he's from Hong Kong. Hong Kong, although located within china, has it's own government and laws so a lot of issues that occurred in China don't apply to Hong Kong.
When the group has established themselves, the company capitalize on each member giving them more work individually so they can take in more income, for Sm groups that always have been the strategy.. Other companies take on that example too.

As much as I love f(x) I think people are playing blind here. I want to be optimistic but let's face the facts, Krystal don't want to sing anymore, Victoria left SM and is doing REALLY WELL on China, Amber is doing her own thing with her music and seems pretty happy with it and Luna left SM too, and she probably have plans with her singing and acting career. I think it is almost impossible for a comeback to happen.
And we all know that SM groups never disband, even though they are out of activities for years, they never disband. So, at least for me, f(x) is disbanded and they don't want to assume it.

Luna and Amber seemed to be the only ones who wanted to actually sing but SM literally shafted them at every opportunity.

f(x) is a group wherein all members shine on their own. and that's what i love about f(x). they are individuals with unique personalities, charm, and skills and complement each other when they're together in a group. Even if they don't release songs together, disbanding is not an option. there are groups just like BEG who have not disbanded, did not release songs for years but cameback as a group again. When that time comes for f(x) we just have to support them. and it's not up to us to wish these people to disband or create assumptions why they're not making a comeback. let them do their own thing, grow and develop their skills so they can unite once again once they find the right timing. :) there's a time for everything.
and to add f(x) will always be my number one girl group :)
What I love about f(x) and the girls is they always so open to what happend inside the group, they are not afraid to tell public what actually happend

Recently I have realised that girl groups don’t make it a long way together ,even the once that are famous. If we talk about 2nd generation groups, as of today when the 3rd generation is reigning, groups like suju ,SHINee and Big Bang are still making it big but unfortunately this not the case with girl groups ; they either disband or remain inactive for years that people start forgetting them. And this fact makes me sad that the girl groups that are popular right now might face the same thing after 5-10 years.

Fx forever gonna be my fav group! The most unique group I’ve ever listened to. Like if you will watch all the mvs you will notice how so many new gg (i am not gonna say copying) inspired by fx. Check out their first interviews and comebacks with reality shows they were in. My girls really had it all! I am also so sad that we probably never gonna get some new stuff but hey their legacy is still so powerful

I love f(x) so much... But it really hurts by now. I can't even listen to their music anymore, it makes me emotional for the obvious reasons.
I've been waiting for too long and I think after what happened last year, I just can't even hold on to that same hope that I used to have.

The problem with a f(x) comeback is that 2 of the 4 members are too busy and making too much money to take time out of their schedule to do a comeback. Those two members are not just making money for themselves but for sm since they are still under contract. Also, they won't say they have disbanded due to the negative backlash that sm and the members fear. Not just f(x) but there are other groups in this same situation. It's better marketing for amber to say "I'm f(x) member amber" than "I'm former f(x) member amber".

I think SM people favours Red Velvet over F(x), that was the beginning of the end for F(x). I think they deserve the best out of them.

In my opinion, one of the biggest factors that led to SM sending Victoria to China, other than the THAAD missile crisis, was how much they saw their Chinese idols could make in China. Take note Kris Wu, Luhan, and Tao were all still contracted to SM despite leaving EXO. With how big they were in China and the large amounts of money they made after leaving EXO, you know for sure SME took note of this and tried to capitalize on it. That's why when the when political tension between SK and China was on the rise, SM took the opportunity and sent Victoria to China because they knew she'd make a killing for them there. Hell, they even sent Lay there as well after he was done promoting Monster with EXO.

f(x) is my favourite girl group and I really mean it! One and Only! I really expected or hoping for f(x) comeback every year since after 4 Walls, even people around me said f(x) has disbanded or they never gonna comeback, I still keep my faith with the group, I believe in them. I really thought on the 10th anniversary I can at least expect a song or maybe a comeback? Nothing was released and I was really really upset for that and really felt heartbroken. Even though f(x) members have focused on their own career way, after I heard what Amber said, OK! I guess I can still keep my hope up and expecting f(x) to release any single or album at anytime. I am prepared!!!

I guess my take away from this is that SM put more emphasis on them as individuals then them as a group after a certain point. I figure the issues Korea is having with China right now would hinder Victoria a lot but for me, I would’ve taken a Amber/Luna subunit since they were always the ones that wanted to do music if Krystal was gonna continue acting. Hopefully one day they can come together for an album or something

With SM not promoting f(x) they had to scrounge up work for themselves, and they got very good at it...which SM then turned around into a reason to not promote them as a whole. SM's reason for existence, it's core mission, is to produce and promote! And yet somehow it did neither! They kept f(x) locked down after the one contract renewal because _someone else "might"_ make money off of the brand, even though they could never figure out how to do it for themselves!

You know, I really missing them so bad
I feel like the members saying f(x) is not yet disbanded is just them being sentimental about their strong bond of friendship, and that SM never disbands groups. I mean, Krystal ain't singing anymore, Victoria is doing well in China but won't be able to make any connections with Korea anytime soon due to the issue of both countries (just like Lay of EXO), while Amber and Luna are happy doing their own things. Plus 3/4 of them have left the company and one is in a better place now. Until China lifts the ban on Chinese idols being able to promote in Korea, our chances of getting a comeback is 0. Once that is actually lifted, it increases to 1% only because Krystal ain't singing anymore so it'll only happen if Krystal has empty schedules and she feels like it.
I have never seen a group not resign contracts with a company, not live on that country anymore, and yet still be a group. But I mean we can still be in denial or just wish for Amber to have a great solo career
Just got back from watching Amber live in Portland, and she really is doing her own thing. Living the best life she can with the hand she was dealt and being under such circumstances. They’re all trying to smile through it all, so I hope y’all can support each of them in their endeavors until that one day they do come back together ^^

It's like Girls'Generation. Tiffany, Seohyun and Sooyoung are no longer in SM but still in Girls' Generation. If the ever wish to have a come back. They will still have a comeback under SM. So it's basically f(x) the group is under SM. But the girls Amber, Luna and Vic is idk that hasn't been confirmed aren't in SM.

As of now, Krystal is the only F(x) member still under SM Entertainment since she still has time on her contract. Everyone else's expired in the fall of 2019 and left the company. They didn't leave the group, so technically, F(X) is still a group under SM. Basically it means, if the timing is right. and all the girls are free at the same time and can coordinate with their current companies and SM Entertaiment, we may see F(X) together again one day. But TBH, seeing as they haven't even had a comeback for basically the last half of their contract with SM, when they were all under the same company, I don't think that chance is happening any time soon. I really really hope I'm wrong though.

If I remember correctly how jessica left, sm demanded her to cease individual work to be active in group stuff. no surprise much of sm management to f(x) was ...okay we'll produce something for f(x) if you all agree to pause all your individual work.
unfortunately life a short...and you never know if the next group album will earn enough when you always face strong GG competition. so its much of a gamble for both sm and individual members that neither wants to do.
and to be clear I'm sure all korean companies do the same with artists, not just sm.
it wasn't the fact that sm demanded that jessica stop individual work, it was bc she had a whole company without informing them.
SM didn't do a goddamn thing with f(x) when they had all the artists in-house, they sure as hell aren't going to do the extra work it would take to assemble them for a comeback now! Especially when they haven't bothered to take the same sort of effort with their beloved SNSD! When SNSD has an OT8 (or better yet, OT9) comeback, then I'll start hoping for an f(x) comeback, but not until then...and even at that I won't be holding my breath.

The girls were always public about how an f(x) comeback was difficult to do because of their personal schedules, and I was completely fine with that. And SM knew knew we wanted more f(x), it just wasn't a possible thing. A lot of people blame SM completely for giving f(x) no promotions, when that isn't necessarily the whole truth. In the end, I don't think we'll ever get the full picture, and we should just appreciate what we were able to get at all.

I don’t know guys but I feel so HAPPY to see MeU here my only and belove kpop group till my last day is gonna be f(x) and eventhough they are doing theirs solo projects I’m so glad that my MeU heart can still beat so strongly as in those days when we could see them on stage as a fan I wish I could have done more for them so I regret most of the times and wonder why ours girls could do it more far but I keep my love for them as when I saw them in their debut stage🤧🤧
