Sig mist with the Klotz racing oil. Thst gets the old testosteronis pumping! Talk about Sig, when I was 15 years old putting together my first Kadet Jr. I had some questions. So I called the 800 hotline on the instruction manual and proceeded to grill Hazel Sig herself for about 15 minutes. What s treat. Good old lady. BTW that was 40 some years ago. Thought I'd share this as these encounters are rarely heard of anymore. Thanks for sharing Shug. Always love your content.
SIG was always a favorite of mine. They seem to be clinging to life. Never met Hazel but would have liked too. I still have some SIG rc planes. Always quality kits and they always supported control line. Twister is still a very good flyer.
My dad and I used to fly these type of planes when I was a little kid. I was terrified of the cox engine sound and the propeller spinning at ungodly rpms. If i made a mistake or crashed dad would cuss me out and beat the crap out of me. Ahhh good times Buzzzzzzzzzz boom 💥
We have opposite stories. My Dad bought me my first one. He flew first and crashed it. We went out for ice cream and BBQ and he bought me a new one (mainly so he could try it) good memories for me. Flew today in fact.
Wow! I didn’t know they still did this. I remember when I was in third grade back in the 70’s, my teacher lived two doors down and used to fly her planes in a vacant lot. I would sit and watch her. I always wanted to try it, but I never did.
The "P-19" reminds me a bit of a Ringmaster my Dad converted to a Wildcat back in the 70's, Navy markings and all. Flew great as a Ringmaster, not so great as a Wildcat!
Thankee. I'm off for a contest today in Fargo, North Dakota. Been a few years since I've competed. I've actually had that plane quite a while. Bought it built second hand. Solid flyer. Goes where you direct it.
You know, UA-cam hasn't been notifying me of your video drops. I had watched a video or two before and then I subbed, but I forgot about your channel until I noticed your "Hammock Pros and Cons" video in the batch they throw at you because of interests/ so I watched that and began to wonder why I wasn't watching your fun videos. I checked that I'm subscribed and then went to your videos list to see the latest, 9 days ago, and searched back through my notifications, and I haven't been getting notifications at all. I'll hit the bell again and see what follows and check back soon ( write a note to self).
Great site did you guys get a new flying site? Six of us in our car club use to fly U Control. All admitted that was 40 years ago. Now I guess I am most active. But I've been side lined about 8 months. Very hot over 100 degrees for about 72 days. Set records. One other guy has a plane ready to fly. And me. That's it. The other four will have to build and get set up to fly. Maybe this spring.
That's what I got to across from the Airport. Can't fly during school hours on central time last class is after sun set. So holidays and week ends. Wish I could get something more stable. I live on a grass runway. Can only fly when the wind is out of the south. Stuge. And 50 ft lines. I do one flight 3 minutes power lines at both ends. Great video's
December see you guys got that north cold snap. Maybe snow. Ya It's building season. Still assembling my Super Ringmaster. Kit is a Micro Models. Still dreaming about the Viking. From Brodak I just may get that kit. Shuge you and your family have a great holiday AJ
Hey shug! Been watching for years, was recently wondering do you sell CDs of the music you play in the videos? Or know where to get em?! Love that old southern style!

I thought that 0.60 engine would be well matched for Tom's plane, but it actually looked a little underpowered. Thanks for sharing your flying! Have you considered trying R/C instead of CL?
@@shugemery I think half the appeal with nitro is the noise, the other half is the smell. One of my fond memories from childhood, the smell of nitro in the morning while holding onto a plane at full throttle. All the exhaust blowing into my face. It was a 10 year olds dream!!

The sound of the red McCoy screaming or the fox 35 !! The smell of the fuel it was great
That smell provokes good memories for sure!
Great seeing you at REI Roseville today! Don’t forget about that shoutout on the upcoming BWCA trip ;)
I made a note to myself to shoutout! Nice chatting you and the other young feller too.
Would like to see you do control line on a frozen Minnesota lake Shug.😄

Cool to know that Yo.

Love hearing that.

Thanks...not easy at first. You need to enjoy a hobby with a learning curve and crash repairs!
Great to see you flying!
Thankee. It was fun.
Thank you very much for sharing such a great video...🙏

Fun as always. Intense. I need to get serious. A couple of us may shoot for the Fargo Contest this Summer.
Good to see you back.
Good to back at some control line fun.
Goodtimes.. thanks for the video
Thankee for your time.
Thats pretty cool! Used to be a lot of people into those model planes and then suddenly drones took over.
Drones sure did. You can fly them the day you get them. For one...I enjoy a learning curve. In control line you are going to crash for sure learning.
I love control line planes. I had one as a kid.
Great memories for many of us as a kid for sure.

Do those planes burn aviation gas?
It its Glow fuel....
Methanol (Alcohol)
Lubricating oil
Nitromethane (Nitro)
so.... no lipo powered electric motors ?
