    I hope you enjoyed a look at this unique way of camping in Banff National Park. More expensive than regular camping but cheaper than the hotels in the area so it is a great choice if you want a more comfortable and easier way of camping in the area. We enjoy staying in these from time to time so I recommend them. Take care everyone!

    Thanks so much for this video. We are driving from Manitoba and staying 4 nights in a Banff Otentik this September. It’s a perfect option for us. It would be a pretty uncomfortable 13 hour drive if we loaded up our car with all the things we take tent camping. This allows us to pack lighter while still enjoying Banff at a reasonable price. We will be taking our 1 year old on an amazing adventure.

    This is awesome. Thank you for uploading. I want to visit for next summer sometime in July. When do you think I should book these. Please guide with booking tips

    • @ExploringwithWade
      @ExploringwithWade  Рік тому +1

      They get booked up pretty quick each year like most things in the National Parks. You need to keep an eye on the National Parks reservation site. They announce later this year or early next year when reservations open for the following season. You will be competing with many people and sometimes it is hard to get them. Unfortunately you have to just keep an eye out and book the day they open. The parks are so busy now.

    Ultimate ? sure if your a city dweller and not really into real camping, yes it is comfortable for sure The times we have spent at Banff there was just too many peoples and more peoples and more than that Humans too ! Anyhoo we are grateful for your sharing Thanks Wade > Like 6

    • @ExploringwithWade
      @ExploringwithWade  3 роки тому +1

      These could be for anybody depending on your situation I guess. Not everyone visits the parks with full camping gear all the time. I am not a city dweller at all but I don't mind staying in one of these compared to a hotel. I don't always travel with all my camping gear or want to pitch a tent every time so I think it is a cool alternative for many people. Most people I talk to think real camping is dragging a trailer around with a satellite dish and air conditioning anyway hehe 😀 Banff does get very overcrowded for sure. Thanks for stopping by and take care.

    • @ExploringwithWade
      @ExploringwithWade  Рік тому +1

      Unfortunately it is difficult if you don't get on the reservation site the day they open reservations for the following season. The Parks are incredibly busy more than ever and you will be competing with thousands of people. I don't know when next year's reservations open but they do announce ahead of time. Just keep an eye on the National Parks reservation site to not miss out. There is no guaranteed easy way unfortunately. You have to just be faster than others. Good luck.

    • @ExploringwithWade

      Mid-August, and the weather was great, but the nights can start to get colder in the mountains, and the weather can change quickly, especially once September starts.

      These ones had a heater and it works great so whatever temp you want. When booking otentiks be sure to read the details because not all are the same and some don't have heat and electricity in some locations.

    Goodness. I've been too spoiled by going out to crown land. Can't stand camping anywhere where I can still see my neighbors. As soon as you panned and I could see several other units I lost all interest in going.
    Glad this exists for people who want that sort of thing though.

    • @ExploringwithWade
      @ExploringwithWade  3 роки тому

      Yes that would be nice to just go crown camping all the time for sure but it is a great option for people that don't have camping gear and don't want to stay in a hotel. I have camping gear to do full on camping in the woods but do I want to camp every time I travel absolutely not hehe. If I was going on a trip to specifically camp then yea I would find a nice place and pitch a tent. Most of those other units around us were empty during our stay at least. The campground was not even half full. Take care!
