The K4 looks so much better than the T4.
If a tool is not gonna have pliers, then it betteer have another primary tool of decent size. The K4 looks like it can replace a primary folder, whereas the T4 looks like it doesn't actually have a "primary tool", just a collection of secondary tools, if that makes sense. 2.2in knife sounds like just a box opener.
Great review! It give me nostalgia just seing Chris continuing with the knive reviews after all this years. A true pioneer in the space, along with Nutnfancy and GideonsTactical.
I wonder if these guys know each other in real life. They have truely built a culture of critical thinking about gear in UA-cam. Love these guys.
4:08 it's so sharp it shaved a piece of your finger off..... I saw that little piece flick off lol
Thats a really nice multitool for the minimalist. That prytool, most workmen call that a flathead screwdriver.
Wonderful accident...
A very interesting piece!
Thanks for the review.
Hey man, love your channel!!! I started watching when I was 12 years old I am 19 now! I remember the first videos when you had 2 thousand subs 😂
I 4wd in Australia and was sold on getting a T4 for when I’m out bush. Until I accidentally came across your review of the T4 and discovered this K4. The larger blade is probably more what I’m after and looking at it here it won’t be a problem opening the blade left handed as well.
Great review Brother! Looks like a good every day tool.
Isn't an awl supposed to have a pointed end instead of a blunt end? And for the love of God why is it that still only Victorinox has the technology to allow you to deploy a single tool without all of the others coming out as well....??
Good to see you man. Nice review.
I love your channel looking forward to your next video.
I streamed this vid from my tablet to my TV, Chris - the knife was so sharp that at about 4:25 I could see that it took off flakes of your outer skin!
Tight because it’s new. Just picked one up. Move it move it move it. It’s slick and works well.
Leatherman works. Don’t compromise
Lol
Thanks for the "accidental" review.
I dig the form factor and function of a proper knife with extras.
I have the T4 and it’s awesome I’ve been thinking on purchasing one of those
Happy Thanksgiving Chris
CHRIS YOUR BACK! THANK GOD!
Got I love benchmade might have to check this out
Now, you know the tweezers are the most important tool. That’s why you wanted the T-4. 🤨😂
I still use and carry the original first generation Leatherman…🤪
Honestly I love my k4 over my t4 the t 4 blade was kinda disappointing but to each their own. Love this channel
NOT paying 89 bucks or anything anywhere near that for a 420HC blade , sorry leatherman .
@Yak1B I mean 90 bucks you can s35vn these days . Atleast a good middleweight 14c28n , cpm-154 I mean theres such better options at that price than some 1994 420HC xD
@Yak1B yea but even if you have trouble with cpm154 or s35vn which are both not difficult to sharpen 14c28n is stupid easy to sharpen and superior to 420HC in everyway and you can even find it for 40-60 bucks . This knife in 420HC is just kinda silly .
@@preparedmind101 I mean thats hardly a multi tool to me too . 10 bucks more and you got a v.2 leatherman surge ... I mean sorry fellas . It's just my opinion this is an answer to a question that was never asked.
Where's the pliers?
And
the sledge hammer impact driver compass with chainsaw and cement mixer
I like it! I like the slate Grey!
Of course my screen shot has above 25% battery. I’m good at keeping it charged 😆 the K4 would make a good gift.
Oh no, the steel snobs will go crazy. How in the world did Lewis and Clark make it without CM154?
Steel snobs not so much its the factor of when I pay for tools I expect some perceived value in its materials and steel can mean a lot a good example is screwdriver bits I prefer them to be made of spring steel for long term durability and in Leatherman's case I've seen them use higher quality steels such as 154cm and s30v. My point here is if I'm paying upwards of 90$ for a tool in a budget steel its just not perceived good value cause I'd say the competitor would be Victorinox which comes in at more reasonable prices but hey that's just my opinion. Btw drop the sarcasm it makes you come off as childish
I can see where it would be useful. I like it.
When you hold the handle do you get a good purchase on it... ehh see what I did there!
How the hell did you of all people not know about this? I started carrying that over my skeletool and micra combo. I like it, but still have a squirt in the key chain.
I found one in the pawn shop bin ......so I bought it ...never seen it before that was two days ago funny to see you have that mistake
Ima stick with the swiss 😆
The T4 has a 2.2 inch blade... 🤔 I think that's why you chose the K4, because it being 3.3 inch in length. You chose the right knife... Besides the K4 don't have any other option to change the color or material of the handle.. The only difference between the 2 would be that you gain a tweezer and choose different handle and or material, but lose the inch in blade length and look in general
I like mine. My only real complaint is the screwdriver. I hate the flat Phillips Leatherman does. They work well enough, but personally I’d rather sacrifice the scissors for a standard phillips
Dude why did they stop making the jx5 there obviously a really good knife and selling well don’t figure 🤔
Nice. I like it.
You can have too many knifes unless it's a super cool knife 😉
"Mil spec" aluminum
They had space for tweezers. I wonder why they didn’t put that in.
circle of life hahaha
Also do not stick your finger in the tool slot you will cut your finger good the blade sticks though the handle just a bit learned the hard way also cut myself good on the box opener.
@@ucitymetalhead it’s definitely worth it if you find it for a decent price and you don’t stick your finger in there for anything so it’s not really a problem I only did it because I dropped it in the dirt and cleaned it out with my finger when I got home
I personally want the k-2,I don't need the scissors since I carry my surge everywhere.
I've got the T4 and I hate it. I just carry my wave.
That's a nice multi tool. Now that being said if they sold that as a straight knife without the extra tools just a plain knife it would be awesome to
Just got the k2 and I would like it thinner without the tools, or with a saw and knife maybe
Ordered a k2 and got a k4x im kinda pissed cuz its the wrong color but i love it
They should lower the price. I paid $40 for my k2 on eBay love it a lot wish I could find a k4 for the same price sisors on my wave are so useful.
I have carried multitools my whole life and found that one of the most sought after yet overrated tools on most multitools is scissors. More often than not they are too small for the job I get them out to do or because they are not serrated most of the time they wont cut even smaller things like braided fishing line. I keep separate dedicated scissors for doing the job they are made to do.
Nice great on accident buy
The k2 is a bit slimmer than the k4, I have no need for the scissors so it’s the k2 all day long
"some elven word" BAHAHAH chris has not stopped being funny six years later
Saw would've been better than scissors. The awl isn't pointed enough for threading use. The big flat head would've been better if it had file surfaces. Nah!
P’s. Don’t thing you’ll like the t4. Victorinox Tinker still nicer.
thanks for letting us know it will quickly become illegal in canada with that wearing locking mechanism lol. gotta keep the one-armed bandits knifeless somehow.
@@stanger42069 when that type of locking mechanism wears out, it then turns into a sort of "gravity" knife. so no, not wrong.
It’s £120 in the UK so guess that’s $150. Not worth the money over here. Great video though. The T4 is half that price.
"Hey honey! I accidently ordered this 90$ leatherman....... can i just keep it?".................
Silver handle is serated
One handed...
ugly, expensive (over 110$ in my country). but beats all of my multi tools for this year. that is extremely comfortable and solid. 420HC is no problem at all kind of works
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, because I find the K4 beautiful in silver.
Don’t look bad to me I would use it
I rather carry a Wave Plus
Why do you want all your knives sold out & off the market.?
The more moving parts the weaker the tool is generally speaking.
So no offense but I can get a dedicated folding pliers easily and so can anyone else.
I like the k series over the t series
If they made that thing in s35vn blade steel I'd be all over it!
They're overpriced, and they don't offer nothing at all that the older, regular models do.
420 blade? Is it 1980?
420hc works just fine. If it didn't people wouldn't have made it out of the 80's alive.
free p4 better :)
Second
Sorry, mediocre. Heavy. I'll stick with sak's
Kinda clunky and crude looking, not great steel.I'm surprised Leatherman is putting their name on it!
I'll stick with a SAK Deluxe Tinker for a pocket carry multi tool.
Hmmmmmmm accidentally purchase that you paid $30 more for it? The T4 is $69 and this K4 is $99 😂😂😂
