I have a Super 90 LP factory with a Continetal engine good old tractor, the diesel 90 was a really strong puller when hay first came out they were popular in the Texas peanut fields,in the 60s and 70s

Nice job getting her going; Looks like ya need some shifter boots for her. I bet that is full of water seeing how one of the boots was completely missing. She is a solid looking tractor. I have a 1959 M-F 50 gasser that I bought used 27 years ago I would not get rid of it for the world. I like the styling of these Massey-Ferguson's they sort have a art- deco look to them. I can't believe how some of these tractors are put out to pasture. Nice save, & that's a nice T-shirt.

    I sr
I still use my dads. In the 80-90s I farmed 600 acres with an old 90 and an 1100. Great old tractor. The 90 wore out two 5 bottom plows in the 70s pulled an 8 row planter in the 60s

My Super 90 is at the shop right now getting a new power steering line. Unfortunately that line runs through the bell housing so it had to be split. My tractor sat for a couple years before I could find someone brave enough to tackle the job but it still turned over about 4 revolutions and fired right off. That Perkins A300 engine is amazing. The power steering on those tractors was a terrible design. With the engine not running it is nearly impossible to steer and with the engine running the "power assisted" steering is still pretty quirky. But they are great tractors with a few unique "features"

You really need to quit putting starting fluid in Perkins engines, if you have to put starting fluid in a Perkins there's something wrong with it

Most of them are 60+ years old and haven’t run in years. Takes some starting fluid to get them going to first time then we go from there.

Doesn't matter if you bleed the fuel system right it won't need starting fluid

We have always used starting fluid. Our barn was three miles from the house, so on a colder than 40 degree day we used gravity (pushed it out if the barn and down the barn bank) and starting fluid. Dad did it since 1958, and I still have a Massey 1085 with a 4 cylinder perkins that I start with fluid but no barn bank because it's got a cab. @@darrintraywick8042
