  • Transport across the membrane - This video lecture about membrane transport explains about the basics of transport across the membrane. It explains different types of membrane transport mechanisms such as passive transport including facilitated diffusion and the active transport mechanism. It also explains about the role of membrane proteins both channel proteins and carrier proteins in process of cell membrane transport mechanism.

    • @catsandrandom3844
      @catsandrandom3844 4 роки тому

      Going against the gradient releases free energy, which can be utilized to transport molecules against the electrochemical gradient (charge of particles is also responsible for creating a charge gradient, so it's called an electrochemical gradient).

      Osmosis takes place through semipermeable.. she is right..
      Osmosis means movement of solvent only..
      That is what defines semipermeable membrane.. semipermeable memb alows movement of solvent only...
      Selective permeable memb alows movement of both solven & solute (ions / milecules) but that is decided/selected by presence of concerned transporter protein..
      Our cell membrane is selectively permeable
