Congratulations
I appreciate the congratulations and you watching. But I have been gone from Schneider for over a year now. I went to the spot market. Sometimes I wonder why...smh
That’s what’s up man. You have been an enormous help to me in my business with Schneider.
Congratulations on 5 years brother. Thank you for the shout outs. I’ve learned a lot from you over the last few months and I’m humbled by the support and advice from this community and I am truly grateful. Thanks 👊👊
I'm glad I've been able to help you out. You are coming in when all this new stuff is going on so hopefully you can adapt better than I am. I wish you nothing g but success here and let me know if there is ever anything I can do to help out.
Congratulations on 5 years brother!! Wow dude, Thank you for the shout out! I learned a lot from you over the last few months and I am humbled from the support from this community and fellow truckers.
Get in touch with Like Trucking, if you don't already know him. He taught many guys. good dude.
I have known Jeff for years. He is a friend of mine. He helped me get started way back in my early days of being an owner operator.
Hey Man, Congrats on 5 years! All you can do is speak the truth of how you feel and let the chips fall where they may. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide for your future.
Thank you man! It's nothing like it was a few years back when you were here. The dust needs to settle and then I can move forward. With all the things happening here now, I don't see how the situation can change for the better anytime soon.
Congratulations 🎊🎉🍾 on your five year I know how much hard work and dedication you have made .we wish you so much success and good health and thank you for being a great mentor and it’s an honor to be mentioned on behalf of my husband and my self thank you 🙏.
No problem. I'm just a regular dude making videos and trying to help people out. Much like you guys are trying to do. If there is ever any way I can help let me know! I wish you guys all the best too!
@@sberger6604 thank you for your kindness
No problem!
Man, I’ve been with Schneider for a total of 11 1/2 years, five as a company driver and 6 1/2 as an IC, and I feel like we don’t even drive for the same company. My experience couldn’t be more different.
Like I said...it's all a matter of opinion. I'm glad things are working out for you! I wish ya the best!
Change is SNI middle name🤣
You are right about that.
As for the trailer issue. They need to find a way to get owner ops a different LINE of trailers just for Owner Ops. Redo the contract so that if someone reports damage to trailer, someone is held responsible. But this cannot be done with shared trailers with Company drivers.
The fleet is to big and there are to many customers for us to have dedicated trailers. Plus it wouldn't matter. I see just as many OO's dropping busted trailers. I see it every day.
Imo you would do better financially and be happier at landstar brother. Schneider is a stepping stone and you are way beyond that step. But TKS for all your help. I kinda need that step. So I will probably endure it for 6 mths.
Landstar is not an option for me. To many fees and you still have the trailer issue if you are using their trailers. I'm not sure what's next, if anything at all, but I'll keep ya in the loop.
@@sberger6604 Schneider was a stepping stone for me. I finance my truck with SFI. I left Schneider after 8 months and contracted with Landstar. I too was weary of their fees but, it actually isn't too bad. I recommend you at least give them a try. I only do live load/unload so I have had the same trailer since I contracted with them in February. I don't stress and I don't haul loads heavier than 30,000 lbs. I gross 6,000/week which is sufficient for me but I know there are O/Os here making more. Good luck to you whatever you decide :-)
I appreciate the input. With everything that is happening over here now it is definitely time to do some soul searching. I can make a good living here so that isn't a problem. It's just all the things I can see coming down the line that are making me skeptical. I've got multiple options on the table so it's just a matter of deciding if I want to change or not. Whatever I decide it's full steam ahead for sure. I will keep everyone in the loop. Thanks for checking out my channel! I wish you continued success at Landstar!
Congrats brother.. I started at Schneider right around the same time you did (10/2015 for me)... did the lease thing .. moved on to my own authority (3/2018) only to fold it and now I am back as a company driver...been wild for sure...probably should have just stayed a lease driver the time...5yrs is 1/6th of my 30yrs... feels like I started all the way from the bottom again....glad to see you are doing good...
Things happen for a reason my friend. I wouldn't say your at the bottom. You can do anything you wanna do, any way you wanna do it. I appreciate the kind words. Schneider has been kind to me but it is a lot different now than when I first started. I wish ya all the best brother!
Your comments are spot on. SNI is trying to make things easier with new technology and it is only complicating the issue. My people are fantastic but when it comes to CS and box planners, the problems begin. I came to SNI so that everything was preplanned and few problems. That doesn't seem to be a benefit now and it seems they don't address these issues or think a 5 minute video makes everything better.
Couldn't have said it better myself! Thanks for watching!
I live in Texas. How hard would it to get lanes coming in an out of there for hometime.
I couldn't tell you to be honest. I left Schneider last November so I'm not sure what the freight looks like now. I can tell you that when I was there loads running within Texas were pretty plentiful. Or you could go from Texas to Oklahoma and back, or Texas to Louisiana and back. But it also depends on what part of Texas you live in. Sorry I can't be of more help to you.
Thanks for your response
No problem!
Did you get your second truck through sfi or some were else. How many years left on new truck. Yep
I got my second truck and my Volvo from a dealership
Keep us posted
I've heard good things about Uber freight... I might would try that. would be great to find a few direct customers that are local to your home aswell.
I can't do that with Schneider. I am contracted to haul their freight only. But it is something to consider if I make a change.
I hear there's big bucks on the load board at USA Truck.
I dont know much about USA Truck. You can make money here, I just don't like what they are doing right now.
Congrats on 5 years brother. I live right around the same area you do and have been thinking hard about coming over thru sfi but I just watched a video earlier that said after a 3 year lease, the balloon payment was 50k. What's your thoughts on sfi now since I know that's how you started 5 years ago
I still don't think it's a bad way to test the waters. It is a low risk way to see if you'll like the owner operator career style. Going in you know the payments will be high, but you can get a payment number before you sign a contract. I don't regret starting that way. But you'll want to have all your financial info figured out ahead of time. That way you know if you can handle that high payment. Good luck man!
@@sberger6604 Thanks brother, really appreciate you and your videos. Be safe out there man
Thanks man...you too!
I call to get info and they tell me after all expense I will take home around 1k to 1,200 With my present job I’m doing that and no worries of fixing or nothing
They have no way to know what your going to make. That's based on an estimate. You can make more but you only get out of it what you put into it.
I’ve been an O/O for a month now. Do you feel like they are only showing certain loads to certain drivers? Because it seems like I can never find loads going towards Texas and that’s where I live. I’ve already had to deadhead 700 miles home!
That has been brought up before. I don't think they "play favorites" so to speak, but they do control what you see. We only see what they want us to see. There is more loads available than are posted.. If they can't get a company truck to get it, we will get it made available. I'm not sure where you live at or where you usually run, but the Midwest is usually a good spot to get back to Texas from. Or run East and West in and out of Texas. That is usually a good lane also.Hope that helps ya.
Congratulations man , I wanna get into the owner operator mode .. Do they have you on a W2 or is 1099 when your owner op. How fast did you pay off your truck
You are paid via 1099. You are not an employee of Schneider. You are your own business. My truck isn't paid off. I bought a brand new Volvo last year. I didn't want that high lease payment with SFI. If you go back through my older videos I talk about that in several of them. It is possible to get and pay off a truck that way. It just wasn't for me. Good luck man!
@@sberger6604 thank you man , keep up the great content . Really appreciate it an be safe bro
I appreciate you watching!
If you want to see the load bored. Message me I’ll show you this TERRIBLE board
I appreciate the offer but I'm on it. I won't be staying on it though.
@@sberger6604 did your pay get screwed today?
Yeah...I don't know what's up with that. My deposit better be in there tomorrow!
@@sberger6604 same here bro. It pissed me off SO BAD, I’d like to be PAID for the work I’ve completed.
