长城是一个入侵的预警系统，兼有限制马匹出入的作用。古代中国对北方的游牧民族有绝对的人数优势，只是游牧民族抢了就跑的策略让以步兵为主的中国不能很好的应对。中国不在乎是不是有一小段城墙被敌军利用，因为利用城墙意味着阵地战，等周围军队包围过来他们就死定了。
长城不是盔甲，更像是一层有触觉的皮肤，只有一点防护作用，更多是引导整体对入侵做出处理。
