    Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m currently going through the slow process waiting for insurance approval. Since I don’t know anyone who has had this surgery I’ve been terrified to get it. Much like you meds stopped working. Your story has made me feel so much better about my decision. Do you have any long term discomfort from the linx? I’m fearful I will have constant discomfort and be hyper aware it’s there. Also, you were right about that manometry. It’s was terrible ! Thanks again.

      No long term discomfort at all. I cannot tell it's there. The only time it acts up is when don't chew something quite enough. It will feel difficult at first, but it gets better!

    I’m glad u had Linx rather than a Revision to Bypass. BUT it would seem they should have repaired your Pre-Sleeve Hiatal Hernia DURING your Sleeve, long ago!! Then, you may not have needed to go on the PPI, at least not for the HH…
    However, you MIGHT have still had Reflux even after the HH repair (if they had done it during your VSG), bc a VSG can cause reflux for its OWN separate reasons. If that had been the case, the natural solution would have been taking a MINUTE amount of Betaine Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) once a day with food for a couple of months, and that would have prevented any “need” for the PPI. PPI’s don’t cure reflux, they only cause it or make it worse. HOWEVER, with an active HH, you had no choice but to take the PPI, which, as you know, causes Regain. That’s bc PPI’s destroy your beneficial gut flora, which makes your digestion sluggish and keeps you from breaking down your food well and prevents absorption of vitamins and minerals.
    PPI’s also lower your overall immunity bc of killing off good gut flora. Hello Covid or the Flu.
    PPI’s also cause mood swings or depression bc of loss of good gut flora.
    But anyway, you had your HH repaired now, and had the LINX, and so you should NOT need to be on any PPI or antacid anymore. Now would be a good time to rebuild your good gut bacteria with a quality probiotic. Garden of Life brand makes lots of good probiotic types.
    The Ursodiol your bariatric surgeon was not as good an idea as taking Organic Beet Root Powder and perhaps Nutricology brand Ox Bile to slowly dissolve and prevent gallstones. Ursodiol is synthetic and the body doesn’t respond as well to it as actual natural Ox Bile. Plus, it’s super expensive, even with insurance. Beet Root and Ox Bile are OTC and cheap. ALSO, it would have been best to have started BOTH 1mpo VSG and CONTINUE until 1-2 years AFTER reaching 175, bc gallstones would still be forming until then. But that is ancient history, and you HAVE had your Gallbladder out. So NOW, you need something to continue the important work your GB was doing. And that would be, Nutricology Ox Bile, 125 mg, once a day with food. BTW, Ox Bile will help with any Constipation AND can help with weight loss. We need our gallbladders. God doesn’t make throw away organs. But OTC Nutricology Ox Bile can help and you need SOMETHING to replace what your GB was doing.
    I’m glad you didn’t get Bypass bc it causes horrible problems after age 40 and beyond with absorbing fat soluble Vits A-D-E+K, which are very important for health and anti-aging. After 40, we start to lose Progesterone and this can cause rapid aging and poor skin elasticity. THEN, when it’s time for Peri, Pre-Menopause and Menopause and Post-Menopause, not being able to consume fats and absorb fat soluble vits can cause a ROUGH journey thru all those stages AND extremely harsh aging.
    But I would DEF see a Naturopath or Functional Practitioner asap about getting on Natural Bioidentical Topical Rx Compounded Progesterone Cream. It will keep your bones strong, help with moodiness, anxiety, cravings, energy and insomnia. Women start slowly losing Progesterone at 35. But with all your life stress (stress eats up your on board Progesterone) AND all the surgeries your body has had which have ALSO further stressed your body, I guarantee you are low on Progesterone.
    Do not go cheap and go thru an OB/GYN just bc they are covered by ins. They order all the wrong sex hormone tests, use all the wrong lab ranges, misinterpret the lab results, rx all the wrong HRT in the wrong dosages, and even if they call any of it “Bioidentical,” it’s going to be SYNTHETIC bioidentical garbage. It will actually cause sex hormone imbalances and the next thing you know you’ll have breast cancer or something. This is one area NOT to go cheap and NOT to go thru insurance for an OB/GYN provider. NATUROPATH. If your State does not allow Naturopaths to practice, a recent Federal law allows ppl stuck in such medically backward states to consult Out of State via Zoom or whatever. LABS and RXES will still be covered by your ins to a large degree - just not the VISIT, which u should only need 1-2 per year anyway. Naturopaths spend 1-2 HOURS with you. The Initial Consult is the longest and most expensive - be ready for that. But THAT appt can be up to 3 hours, and they will go over your ENTIRE medical history, and even work with you on your Lipidemia, and anything ELSE you may not even know about.
    Of all the surgeries you have had, the only 2 that COULD have been avoided (if you had known this info - which any Naturopath would have told you) are the Cholecystectomy and the LINX. You already had a HH even before VSG. It’s just that they should have repaired it years ago DURING your VSG.
    You sure are a Trooper and have gone thru so many surgeries!

    Does this mean that if you were to eat foods like almonds and walnuts or peanut butter it will get stuck? Good to know you're doing well though.

    • @beckettdrama
      @beckettdrama  2 роки тому +1

      No. I eat these all the time. It's usually when I eat something like bread without chewing well enough. Even then, it isn't often.

      @@beckettdrama thank you, did you ever experience peanut butter or bread getting stuck prior to doing the linx though?

      @@KM-vc7iy No. I did not have that issue.
