Looking good, I think the damaged/shaved off piece of splitter is the problem, if there was more material it would bring the edges in line. I'd get onto the supplier about that, not a good advert for them! Regarding wheels, 2 tone T6s look good on their standard 17" Devonport wheels, you can get them cheap online and you should be able to sell your 16s with good tyres. Also, BMW and Land/Range Rover wheels fit with spigot rings.
Hey bud thank you 👍 I was unhappy with the fitment of the splitter and your right I’m going to email them and ask what they can do to help. I do like the t6 wheels actually and they not to big so will ride nice. Someone else mention Bmw wheels I’ll have a look.
@@YTDTETV The T6 wheels do look nice but I'm biased as I have them on my T5.1 :) I live down 1 mile of farm track (like the road to your unit) and it rides nice. All the front spoilers fit the same💩Even the genuine VW spoiler isn’t the best. I tried to tidy mine up, but ended up smoothing it in with the bumper with a lot of filling and sanding, I also did the same with the DRL panels, it was good for 2 years until it started cracking along where the join is. @@YTDTETV I'm planning one myself, and by far the cheaper option is to have a frame made (facebook marketplace or ebay ads) then get the cushions / upholstery done afterwards. They are more expensive than a van seat, but it becomes a useful bit of a camper. I would love to see some vids on fitting one (rails on the floor make it so much more useful).
Just finished full brakes and service on the wife’s zafira ah ye! Turned on the tube and wallop! It’s only DTE and. The T5! That two tone looks the cobs sir! As an impatient fan I can’t wait for this one to be finished but one question DTE! Does this mean the caddy will be moving onto greener pastures when the bus is done?? As always keep it comin! Ah ye!

Nathan, As your bumper was textured rather than primed out the box, it looks mint now it’s finished, but how much of a pain was it to get to that level of finish, what would your advice be ?
Have you seen new Transit custom/tourneo seats? I have some in my Renault. They fold flat, flip up and forward or clip out completely. Individual seats with integrated belts, heavy as fook, but personally I think this needs to be proper camper so has to rock n roll bed really doesn’t it? 18’s for wheels size I reckon
I'm about to ditch my T5.1 front end for a T6 one. I find the squared of headlights on the wing a bit naff and the sportline front end is a bit fussy for me.
Just a quick on for you matey when doing the engine swap to a pd 130 did you have to change the wiring or ecu or anything to do we the loom any info would be a help as I wanting to do the same swap as I totally agree the pd engines are lot stronger
Hi bud leave all the wiring and ecu as it all fits the new engine, you either need to get the ecu remapped to run it super nice or you need to fit your old injectors other than that it’s a direct fit 👍
As in the black splitter at the bottom? Screws upwards into the lower valance I used nuts and bolts in the pre drilled holes then added a few self taper screws in a couple places.

Hey bud thank you appreciate that 👍 oh man I’m actually watching a set of smoothie steels and the flat face ones you mention, I really like them to. The flat ones are a little bit more money but they do go well with the van and your right it’s the flat side of the van that goes with them 👍
I’m. Feeling the front end ah yeah !!!!!
Seats -Rock n Roll bed with seatbelts. Either remove them for a van, put them in as seats, add a rail on the floor to move it around.
Hey bud a few people have mentioned the rock and roll bed I’ll look into them thank you 👍
@@YTDTETV I'm planning one myself, and by far the cheaper option is to have a frame made (facebook marketplace or ebay ads) then get the cushions / upholstery done afterwards. They are more expensive than a van seat, but it becomes a useful bit of a camper. I would love to see some vids on fitting one (rails on the floor make it so much more useful).
oh yeh love it ,
Prefer original but looks very nice, justice and peace
Just finished full brakes and service on the wife’s zafira ah ye! Turned on the tube and wallop! It’s only DTE and. The T5! That two tone looks the cobs sir! As an impatient fan I can’t wait for this one to be finished but one question DTE! Does this mean the caddy will be moving onto greener pastures when the bus is done?? As always keep it comin! Ah ye!
Hey Gavin happy treat for the mrs car then 👍 appreciate the kind words towards the van. No the caddy will still be the daily then the T5 for any further trips I guess 🤷
@@YTDTETV now that’s a proper garage chief! T5, caddy and a Mk5 GTD! Proper! Lol the colours on your T5 will be mega matey can’t wait. Somewhere nice to sleep when you restart the carping sessions. As a man of considerable VW experience what’s your take on the 2.5tdi engine and is it worth spending the cash on modifying it or would you just PD all day? Appreciate your thoughts on this mate.
Takk!
Hey francis 😊 the new iPhone is out in a couple of weeks so I’ll be able to buy the current model as they drop in price dramatically and that’s all thanks to you. The one I want has a wicked camera and takes the clearest shots to help improve my videos. Thank you 🙏
Was the bumper already prepped for basecoat? As my face is cracking.Nice Job
Looking good got me thinking
Hey Marc 🤙 abit of 2 tone on your new one maybe 🤔
@YTDTETV body work is white and as my old work van not rusty but lots of dents so
not sure at the moment underside OK will put the mechanicals in order then scratch head 🙄
thats a real nice colour combo whats the colour code of the grey is it united grey LA7T / X6 and reflex silver LA7W up top my mk6 is that united grey and looks awesome in the sun wheels gotta match them paint themes
Hey bud thank you the grey is indium grey LR7H and yes spot on relex silver, had to use Vw colours for sure 👍
I think oem DRL in the headlights looks better. You can retrofit these with PY21 leds from osram or philips.
Hey bud thank you I’ll look into them 👍
Nathan, As your bumper was textured rather than primed out the box, it looks mint now it’s finished, but how much of a pain was it to get to that level of finish, what would your advice be ?
I sanded the texture down then a good coat of high build primer then rubbed it smooth 👍
Looks awesome mate, can you share parts used please.
Hi bud yes sorry I havnt added them to the description yet but I’ll do it now 👍
@@YTDTETV can you link parts please?
@@marczewskimaciej yes sorry bud I’ll do it abit later today 👍
@@marczewskimaciej all done check video description 👍
Have you seen new Transit custom/tourneo seats? I have some in my Renault. They fold flat, flip up and forward or clip out completely. Individual seats with integrated belts, heavy as fook, but personally I think this needs to be proper camper so has to rock n roll bed really doesn’t it? 18’s for wheels size I reckon
Hey B-RY 🤙 this havnt but I’ll look at them now, I’m unsure how far to go with the inside on this one.
@@YTDTETV I might have one. I got a set of 3 and Carl fitted 2 into my Renault so he should still have the 3rd one somewhere
@@brianstorm4806 haha that won’t be there if we are on about the same Carl…
Looks ace!
Thanks bud 👍
Hi did you put the crash bar back on or leave it off thanks

Love you content. What happened to the t4 restoration from a couple of years ago ?
Hey bud thank you 👍 so for some reason a couple of the videos disappeared so I then removed the other videos so it wasn’t half a build series on here.
I'm about to ditch my T5.1 front end for a T6 one. I find the squared of headlights on the wing a bit naff and the sportline front end is a bit fussy for me.
Hi bud I do like the later ones and maybe I’ll upgrade at a later date but I’ve always liked this one 👍
Another great video
Hey Ragnar thank you mate 👍
Hi Mate, really nice work im after someone to do the same with my t5. Are you available to have a chat at some point ?
Just a quick on for you matey when doing the engine swap to a pd 130 did you have to change the wiring or ecu or anything to do we the loom any info would be a help as I wanting to do the same swap as I totally agree the pd engines are lot stronger
Hi bud leave all the wiring and ecu as it all fits the new engine, you either need to get the ecu remapped to run it super nice or you need to fit your old injectors other than that it’s a direct fit 👍
@@YTDTETV brilliant thank you bud much appreciated 🙏
How do you prepare bumper for painting any tips
Hi bud if you type DTE bumper colour coding there’s a white caddy I go into detail with 👍
Great work done.
Someone should help me face-lift my 2004 T5. I'm in Ghana
Hi. How did you fit the front sportline splitter to the bumper ? Thanks
As in the black splitter at the bottom? Screws upwards into the lower valance I used nuts and bolts in the pre drilled holes then added a few self taper screws in a couple places.
@@YTDTETV Great. Got my kit on order. 👍
