Very nice video. You reached double decker root bridge at right time. After 12 PM there are loads of tourists there and you just cannot get a picture clicked on the bridge. You should have gone to rainbow falls. Trust me, it would have been the best waterfall you see in Sohra. You had the time. But as you mentioned, it would be better to stay at Nongriat and then trek to rainbow falls early morning. I can only imagine how much more beautiful it would be with absolutely no tourists.
I hope you also visited Mawsmai caves. Most people only visit the main first cave. But as you exit the first one, there is another cave which is much more adventurous with narrow paths where you have to walk bending down all the way. The limestone formations in both the caves are mesmerising and unique.
Wonderful, and so cool to go back to remote places , the kind on thoughts... nostalgia.. Can't be explained..

Apart from Cherrapunji (Sohra), you can also visit Shallang: Chinma Falls and Rangmanma Falls in West Khasi Hills, also go to #Khudoifalls, #Thamrongfalls, #Kohmangfalls, #Umliehfalls, #Mawkynrum Viewpoint, #Wahliewlong valley these are all in Eastern West Khasi Hills which are not so popular among the tourist but worth going

Can I ask, what sort of shoes would you recommend if one were to climb down from the roads to these ravines, natural bridges, etc to get to the waterfalls? I ask as I am not sure if pure trekking shoes would be good given there might be rock climbing and natural/hanging bridges
Simple walking/ running shoes will also be enough .

So was confused as to where to plan our trip, out of North south and east India, we haven't travelled to North east until now so was thinking to do that... can you share more about the taxi which you guys hired ( price, how to book, etc) will the same taxi take you out of shillong too? and are there any different rates for going outside shillong like to cherrapunji and dawki?

Jiva Resort is NOT the best hotel to stay in Sohra. Polo Orchid is a lot better, moreover it's a 5- star rated resort, having great location with Infinity Swimming pool and the Seven Sister waterfalls in the background
