I have three different textures, coily in the back, kinky in the crown and wavy in the front. I gonna have to do a little trial and error but this information is going to be a game changer.

Such a simple and smart tip that I never thought of!!!! My hair is mostly 4a, but very tight on the right side than the left. Then half of the left has zero curl pattern. Doesnt matter what I do...it's just bone straight, but has the tightness as the entire left side. I usually perm rod the straight side (which i have to redo every other night), use a lot of gel on the 4a part of the left. The right side is a perfect 4a, so Less gel there, but it needs to be stretched a bit to match the looser right side 4a. Oh the struggles! Glad I found this video.

I have all the 4’s spread out through my hair, exhausting to say the least. But I manage she’s almost to waist length! 😏

Great video!! I have 3 different textures in my head and parting my hair by texture has been a game changer! I also agree with detangling different depending on the texture. My front is wavy, the sides are almost a silky curly, the middle is my “fight the power” section, and the back is the same silky curl as the sides

I got 3a-4a on my head 3b/3a and back on the bottom 3c on front and 4a on the sides i wish it was one texture

Wow thanks for sharing! I've been having an issue dealing with my section because I have that silky wavy texture in the front and also 4a through 4c hair.
I've been trying to do buns but they haven't been working out.
I'm finally come to the realization that I need section and treat each hair differently.
so thanks again and yeah I think I might have to give up leave-in in the front of my hair because no matter how little I add I still end up with a white cast

I have a tight wavy texture in the back and a loose wavy texture in the front and I incorporated these tips into my wash and go this morning and loved the results! I also used your combo of Wet line and Paul Mitchell for the second time and I think I might have found a backup for when I can't get UFD & Innersense.

Great video! I have the same "black girl wave" pattern at the very front on both sides, and 4b and 4a elsewhere. The porosity of the front waves is waaaay lower than all my other hair. (Thanks for this video, as I'm just now realizing that I should probably account for that and maybe apply warm water and much less leave-in there.) This combo is a little challenging. In fact, my last stylist cut my hair damp and was SHOCKED when it dried in very different lengths in various sections. 🤦‍♀️ ☹️ Thanks for the video!

@@WhatTheKink, thanks. Me, too. *sniffle* Every TIME I do a wash-and-go now I'm stretching, pulling, and fluffing to try to blend these contrasting lengths. Just ugggh. I tell myself, "It was an honest mistake, it will grow out eventually, and be glad you have healthy hair."

Mannnn. I just had to accept that the left side of head is gonna have more shrinkage due to my 4c on that side 🤣😆

I def section my hair based on the curl pattern. It helps with styling. Problem is the way my hair lays. My tightest section is at my temples and my silky looser-fast-growing section is right on top of that framing my face. So when my hair grows the silky loser section grows faster and hangs longer than the hair at my ears. I can't stand it. I end up having no length at the temples to cover my ears 😂. So I always make sure the top of my head gets cut super short to match the growth rate. I know when it's time for a cut when I have to start tucking that hair behind my ears lol. The struggle is real 😂. I do find that I'm a rare breed of natural who has tighter hair at the temples instead of looser hair. I secretly hate on y'all for that wonderful ear coverage lol.

That’s like how you can’t treat high porosity hair like low porosity hair. Even though they both get dry high porosity drinks in moisture, but it leaves just as quickly.

    • @WhatTheKink

Not really sure why your hair type would prevent you from doing sections. However, I do have a detailed playlist where I break down the steps I take to care for my hair in each video. Perhaps it can serve as inspiration for your own regimen: ua-cam.com/play/PLeWBSaGmfoWRLkso1SWmLSwq5X3sWUYQS.html

My different textures are JARRING. I have very loose waves that are uniform and then kinky patches on the right side and the very top of my head. These sections do not clump together at all. Biracial problems 😭🫣
