Good work guys - the media did miss it, the following 4 things. 1. Sam was playing Ok at the Panthers. KOC made Cousins, an OK QB look good. Why wouldn't he make a younger more talented QB look even better. 2. 2023 was an anomaly without their QB - folks should have used the 2022 Vikings roster and performance as a reference point, and this 2024 roster is better, and much deeper across the board than their 2022 roster. Even some of last seasons starters are now back ups. 3. Too much Focus on Hunter, and overlooking that Flores was trying to fit inherited players with the wrong traits into his scheme. He added 8-10 new players specifically for his scheme into the starting rotation. Y'all should have expected the defence to look better with round pegs in round holes.
Adversity abounded in the second half for the purple. Bad calls, bad plays, turnovers, both real and conciliatory, and a prevent cover 2. And they still fkn WON!
I am just as impressed of our resilience as our dominance in the first half. For the past 15ish years we would’ve lost that same exact game 99% of the time. VERY proud of the win. Great lesson too of how to respond, both for the players and coaches. Like Jared Allen once said (I think it was him) “I’d rather win a terrible game than lose pretty”
17:14 For the past 4 weeks the media has criticized the Viking opponents more than they've credited the vikings for having the best resume in the league. Pathetic Simms
We’ve had one of the toughest schedules so far. How the media isn’t BEYOND impressed is crazy. The way we’ve won against all 4 teams is insane. I would also include Packers game. That first half was impressive 😱 And we won through adversity, which we’ve never been able to do for years!
People have spent years criticizing Darnold and now they look stupid if they say he's good. What they should be saying is that people like Adam Gase have no business coaching in the NFL. Dude is a complete joke and got 2 head coaching positions. There are some really stupid team owners around the league.
4:43 the offense isn't the same as college, brian kelly used more nfl pass concepts but played thru the shotgun and kliff kingsbury offense is air raid and he has adjusted mainly the run game concepts and added a few more formations and shifts
I called it, I said Daniels was the cream of the crop of all the QBs drafted. I also said Anthony Richardson was a reach in the draft at the spot he was drafted and I said he would be injury prone until he is out of the league ala RG3. Richardson is great "for the combine", you get the oooohs and ahhhs and people come away enamored by his athleticism, which he has, but when an average defensive coordinator has to scout him, he is easy to stop and couldn't hit the Earth with a football if asked to. Daniels is legit, if he can run smart. I hope he stays healthy, the Redskins are actually fun to watch. Yes, I said Redskins
I don't like saying it as a Lions fan, but I ABSOLUTELY believe the Vikings are the real thing right now. There is little to no argument that a Vikings team--with wins against 3 different teams that either won a playoff game or played in the super bowl last year--aren't currently the best team in the NFC. Credit to the Packers though, they actually made the Vikings look vulnerable for the first time this season, even if they couldn't quite dig themselves out of that hole they dug in the first half. We'll see what happens later in the season, but the Vikings are WAY better than I ever gave them credit for at the start of the season.
I expect the Chiefs to be a player in the trade deadline going after a receiver. Maybe Amari Cooper since the Browns have fallen apart. They definitely need someone though.
Yeah but what's crazy is that game started out for the Chargers as good as it possibly could and we still beat them because our defense is good and it's like we have a spell on them
Did you watch the Steelers v Colts game? Tough drives? They had 3 consecutive touchdown drives in the second half, with the longest drive being 3 min 20 seconds. They opened it up, maybe a little to late. But, Fields was exceptional in the second half. They go force OT or win that game, if there wasn’t a faulty snap late. They had an opportunity to win that game ONLY because of Fields.
That was just a Gus Bradley special. It’s the colts trick. We make you think your qb is amazing so you hand him a huge contract. He has picked up where eberflus left off
When you roll up the sleeves, you should unbutton the neck. Personally, I think the top button should always be unbuttoned unless you strap on a tie… Great podcast.
Hey Simms! Waiting for you to apologize for the "DWB" comment on PFT Live like you said you would after learning that was NOT the case regarding Tyreek Hill. Just holding you accountable for what you said you'd do. Thanks!
Looking at the Vikings remaining schedule. Other than the Lions in 3 weeks and maybe the Seahawks...I can't see this team losing another game if they stay healthy. Thoughts?
Thoughts: They wont make it past the divisional round of the playoffs. 4 weeks of regular season success shows how immature and unfamiliar the fan base is with winning.
@@gage8391 Not sure I understand your comments..."unfamiliar with winning". Vikings won the division in 2022 with a 13-4 record. And 2023 finished 7-10 with no QB or JJ. They may not have won a playoff game since 2019 but they've been solid during the regular season. The current team is very good outcome may be different.
Bro, what's hilarious is not understanding you're in the minority thinking the DARNOLD lead Vikings are real....we have years of bad Darnold play and I'm sure he'll come back down to earth by week 10
@@nistic5723you have years of bad teams/coaching/playcalling. Now he’s leading the league in touchdown passes and hasn’t had a qbr under 100. It’s ok to be wrong. The Vikings are good. Period. The Packers and Vikings are probably about even defense wise but offensively the Vikings are playing way more balanced. I think this would have a close game even if Love was healthy. Vikings destroyed CJ Stroud who is a better QB than Love. Game was only close because of a few fluky things, a muffed punt, a interception that have been called back. Vikings are good and the way they are winning is sustainable as long as injuries don't derale it.
@@JohnStockton7459 So the missed field goals is bad luck and cost you the game? How about the stroke of luck muffed punt? Or the interception that was out of bounce? That's 14 points gained by the Packers out of bad luck to the Vikings. I think Kellen Moore is competent but the rest of the coaches are chalk because they arent even deploying the players correctly to give the team a chance at success. Sirriani is a clown who adds nothing to the team. idk why these shows keep throwing in there that the eagles are missing their weapons on offense as a faux excuse when tampa is literally missing half their defense right now. Noone has brought that up that I have seen.
Well, If old Ahmed had considered that the Bucks were playing the Broncos coming off of a big road win and that the Broncos are coached by Sean Payton coach has had the Buccaneers number for the last six years then a loss against the Broncos wouldn’t have been surprising and all Ahmed wouldn’t have just spazzed out and automatically declared the bucs not a good team anymore because of that loss. teams lose games it happens Ox looked really good, but Ahmed should know just because the team comes off a win doesn’t actually mean now they’re all of a sudden a good team; then when they lose the next week, they aren’t good anymore.
