Ok, I'm new to this channel. The diff cover video caught my attention. About 2 minutes in I subbed. Not only does this man know his stuff, he can explain it! I understand him! His enthusiasum is infectious. I'm old but not dead, just a little disabled, and he's giving me ideas! I love diesels because they're stout and make real torque. All my diesels have been natural or turbo. Supercharged has got to increase throttle responce because it does on a gas motor. Some of these so called superchargers like Vortec and Pro Charger look like belt driven turbos to me and they have lag, too. The Roots type of charger makes boost off idle and that's old school! I'm sure the answer lies in supercharging or a combination of supercharger and turbo like today's 4 stroke outboards. I can't wait to see the out come of the diff cover issue. Maybe a system like NASCAR uses is the best solution. We'll see soon because Gale Banks is on the case.

Data logging is such an integral part of improving something, -you need to know what is going on before you can proceed to making changes. A diesel in one of these makes a lot of sense. They're designed to run at high Duty cycle and bearing loads for long periods of time. 1200hp is an attainable power level. Even if it's down 100hp, the initial hit is so hard, a normal low RPM torque converter will give you your money's worth without being so damn touchy. Even if you do need the boost, just brake torque it. You won't have to pay for rebuilds as often. Banks is the only guy doing diesels with separated banks so they still sound like V8's.
I'm interested to see if Gale will run a supercharged Diesel with enough pressure to keep Propane in the liquid state. As of late, I've come to love the hell out of propane, as Hank-Hill as that sounds, it's true. The latent heat of vaporization. The durability of the tanks. It kicks ass.

Love your passion for diesel , I want your diesel monster truck too kill the the spark ignition . My thoughts may be wrong but here they are , clearly I don't have a dyno cell or do i have any proof to back me up . Its only information I've gathered through out my life , and my passion for solving problems , Disclaimer thoughtful enthusiast theory only.
    - Torque transfer time , idle to full coupling torque lock up sec. ____________
    - engine rpm vs wheel speed map
    - adjust the gearing in drop box to match the lower diesel rpm band width.
-run a full lock converter 1800 to 2000
    - lower rpm torque values mapped against wheel speed
    - 540 usable torque range ( dead stop wacking it , wheel starts to move record rpm ________ . Full lock up red line rpm __________. I'd guess 4500 to 7200
    - Original 540 max wheel speed
    - I'm guessing the 540 produces a average 1100 ft lbs of torque in a 3000 rpm window
    - matching the torque window at a lower rpm , and gear up to match wheel speed ,
    - The missing hp is still a concern for reaction time and can be made up with coupling the torque faster
    - Also setting up the l5p to produce a average of 1400 ft lbs torque in its usable 3000 Rpm window to compensate for the loss of hp
    - the faster you can couple a diesel and take advantage of the long slower burning power stroke the more torque it will produce.
    - keeping the rpm lower will net the most gain .
    - I'd concern my team's focus on torque numbers and throw out the hp number with the boost gauge.,q
