I don't think you really understand nimaiya. He was prodding ichigo to understand himself through an actual connection. Nimaiya always knew that if ichigo didn't go after answers, he was never going to be ready. So he set the timer on ichigo task and if he didn't accomplish it, ichigo was going to simply run away from his own responsibility

Yeah she didn’t pay attention specially when nimaiya said “a zanpakutou that doesn’t recieve love will easily break” and that words was actually true because ichigo was always pushing hollow ichigo away while that hollow was actually his powers.. she doesn’t understand why nimaiya wants ichigo to find it out himself instead of telling ichigo everything, what nimaiya did here is not something you can hate its true he needs ichigo to find it out himself because it his zanpakutou if nimaiya tell him everything instead he will be more confused shock and maybe wont believe he has to do it himself to know where he came from, to know what actually his powers and have an actual connection with it…
Agreed she kind of struggles to let the process happen. Even after he goes back she is fighting the process. I will say though they shouldn't have taken mayuris explanation on why a bankai can't be fixed out of the anime
Another way to look at it is that Ichigo was so distracted by Yawach's words that he was not really focused on the situation. This combined with the confusion involving his Zampakutou was causing him problems. However, like a typical teenage, he was trying to push through the situation without dealing with it. Ichigo failing Nimaiya's test and being kicked out forced him to have to deal with it. Ichigo's father helped clear up his past and Nimaiya cleared up his confusion about his inner self.
@@CimmerianAssassin I totally understand what he was saying, I just don’t like the words he used or the approach he took. I feel like he could have been kinder and more direct instead of round about and vague. It’s seems like Kubo wanted him to act like some wise old sage half the time or a cheesy old dude trying to be “hip” the other half and I just wasn’t feeling it. His character doesn’t do much for me when he acts like that. But where I really feel like his character shines is in this last episode. That is where I feel like he dropped the facade and charades and was his true self and I honestly really loved it. It was so sweet to see him to genuinely happy for Ichigo. 🩵 I wish we got that version of him from the start. 🥹😊

Katagiri wasn't fanatical. Its really not a good idea to mix a quincy blood with a hollow tainted blood.
Having an impure bloodline will be the least of their worries.
I think she'll learn more about that later. Just like a lot of other bleach fans, she's gonna understand everything once she has the hindsight.

I partly blame the anime for cutting out segments of this backstory, but Ryuken is partly to blame as well. He tried to play off his concerns for Masaki as investing into the quincies future, so of course the maid will follow suit.
He didnt take masakis powers to kill her at that moment he just wanted the powers then. What happened afterwards didnt matter to him

22:24 my take about nimaiya saying ichigo a "fake" is technically he IS not a shinigami. He is far more greater than that, as you can see at previous squad zero members, they have quite admiration and liking to ichigo's potential. It was like him saying "dont settle for less, know yourself better and be better than all of us". Still it is quite fcked up cryptic thing to say to a kid since on the shallow terms, it is a word of invalidation, but i assure you, nimaiya is one of the characters i would like to have as a friend.
[Tidbits & Clarifications][EP.12]
- When Ichigo went to the Soul Society and kept fighting/getting stronger and ultimately fought Byakuya, he caused the seal on the hollow to break, this is why Isshin gets his powers back after Ichigo returns. Isshin's power wasn't enough to keep the hollow dormant.
- That last bit about Yhwach being responsible for Masaki's death is so important because as we know Ichigo still carries that trauma, he still blamed himself for his mother's death, He couldn't accept himself because he was the cause of his greatest failure, and now he has a true target to point his blade towards.
- Katagiri's actions were in fact because she was concerned for Masaki and because it's her duty to ensure the health and happiness of the Echt Quincy. From her position not speaking up would be dangerous for Masaki's life and dangerous for the bloodline.
(It is unknown yet speculated the Ryukens mother was hurt by a Hollow which likely affected her heavily as a Quincy)
- The special Gigai Urahara used with Isshin was the same kind Urahara used in an attempt to secretly turn Rukia Human.
- Sidenote: Something that people don't question is, where or from who did Urahara get human souls to make his special Gigai??? It's unlikely that it was from a willing participant.
For the Urahara thing, it's not as bad as you think because 魂魄 (Konpaku) and 魂 (Tamashi) aren't the same thing yet both are translated as "soul". In Bleach, "konpaku" refers to the soul as a spiritual body, while "tamashi" refers to the essence of the soul. In the case of the human souls he used for the special gigai, Urahara specifically uses the term "konpaku", in other word he most likely used corpses of souls, likely from the rukon district. Still kinda bad that he used corpses but at least he didn't use "living" participants.
The reason why Nimaiya called Ichigo a fake soul reaper because he was. He's just a human hybrid with high spiritual power, and his power manifested through a zanpakuto with the help of Urahara. It wasn't the traditional method like attending shinigami academy and receive an asauchi made by Nimaiya, but it worked. His inner hollow was his zapakuto spirit all these times, while the old man as his quincy power just hanging around him because he is part of his power as a half Quincy. Kubo could have made the quincy power in the shape of his mother, but that wouldn't be a plot twist isn't it?
Actually anyone with high spiritual power can be a soul reaper, including Chad and Orihime if they were given a zanpakuto and trained for it. Remember Ginjo was a fullbringer but Soul Society took him in as a soul reaper.

Katagiri wasn't doing this BC it was psychopathic behavior, it's because she doesn't want the same thing happening to Ryuken's Mother. When Ryuken left with an ill Masaki, we see the Mother's leg becoming hollow-like.
Imho It's not becoming hollow like. I took it as Ryuuken's mother being crippled by a hollow attack in the past and what you see are scars left by that.

Remember when Ichigo fought Kenny? It's largely believed that the thing that stopped his bleeding was Blut Vene. Even Kenpachi was confused by that. So just that much more foreshadowing.

@@saltyk9869 It's bot "believed" it's litteraly stated in the manga. While in the anime when Ichigo says "You used a Quincy's Blood to stop mine" there's only the fight against Yhwach, in the manga it's a double panel refering to both the fight against Yhwach and the one against Kenpachi. Then again, many people (which I'm not part of) accuse this of being retroactive foreshadowing (as in, Kubo supposedly making it out to be foreshadowing later rather than having intentionally placed it as foreshadowing from the start).
@@xegin1572 I'll be honest, whether it is a retcon or a part of the plan, it's still crazy. I've said before that Kubo is either the best foreshadower this side of Oda or the King of Retcons. Unlike others, I don't think Retcons are inherently bad, they're only bad when they are noticeable.
I do remember Kenny asking, "How did you stop bleeding?" indicating that it's not something normal. Though I don't remember all the details from the manga as I haven't read it in years. Hence, I don't remember it being called back to during this arc.

@@saltyk9869 The one thing that makes me say it's mostly foreshadowing and not retcon is a minor detail, but a quite interesting one. In the manga, the first time Ichigo meets Old Man Zangetsu in the manga, and cannot hear his name, the black rectangle hiding it is way too long to be hiding "斬月" (Zangetsu), but works pretty well for "ユーハバッハ" (Yhwach). On top of that Kubo claims he had main arcs in mind from the start and that's when he reached Uryu that he stopped wondering wether he'd be able to continue the series (Klub Outside Q&A 25), so when OMZ was first introduced Kubo was already thinking long term.
Yeah I had a feeling she would struggle with tybw. Bleach isn't like other Shonen where you can turn your brain off and just enjoy the spectacle. If you do that with bleach you miss a lot
I think A LOT of reactors tend to do this with Bleach they have this stigma that Bleach has no writing and it just like any other shonen when it's clearly not the case,, there's only a few who I can think of that truly understood Bleach the newest one being Angel Rodriguez the Ichibei look alike he finished Cour 2 a day ago but his analysis was SPOT ON

Ichigo had Zanpakuto all this time cause Hollow White which was created by Aizen, was very close to being an actual Asauchi, he never had an Asauchi created by Ōetsu Nimaiya only a fake compensation, whitch was still more than usefull replacement.

- This episode is so important because it effectively finishes off Ichigo's character development. As we all know the Zanpaktou is representative of a Characters self progression and Here Ichigo finally gets a Completed Zanpaktou. Both parts of Zangetsu finally accept Ichigo because Ichigo finally accepts and loves himself, Which is something he couldn't do given his trauma (Blaming himself for his mother death).
-Throughout the entire show Ichigo's Quincy power never said he was Zangetsu, in fact, the first & only time that part of Ichigo's soul spoke its name, we could not hear it. More important is that if you go back through the story "White" always told us that he is Zangetsu. Think about the entire SS arc, it was actually White that kept saving Ichigo. Kubo loves writing in this fashion where he blends Metaphors and Foreshadowing to make the viewers that pay attention cling to a false understanding.
- Some still question "Then how did Ichigo have a Zanpaktou all this time". The hollow "White" was made from Shinigami Souls, so practically Ichigo had something akin to an Asauchi, yet made with a hollow as a base. This is also why whenever he got stronger as a Shinigami, His hollow powers did as well because his Shinigami and Hollow Powers are one.
- It's really cool how Kubo uses Ichigo being a mixed breed to show that he has Quincy Powers, we can assume that this Young Ywach looking being existed in all Quincy, but unlike Ichigo, Quincies can't visit their inner soul...only Shinigami can, so Ichigo would be the only one in existence able of experiencing this.
-This part of Ichigo that looks like Young Ywach seems to carry Quincy intent, yet also seeks to protect Ichigo. I always found it fascinating because this Quincy part of him believed becoming a Shinigami = Conflict and suffering so he actively tried to keep that from happening. I still wonder if maybe this belief comes from Ywach himself.
(This is especially important in that he decided to not "kill" Ichigo as planned because Ichigo choose a path of suffering to achieve his desires of his own free will [This is important for the theme Kubo is going for so remember it])
- From what I recall Ichigo's long Blade is representative of his Shinigami & Hollow powers while the short blade is his Quincy powers.
(Sidenote: Ichigo cannot reforge his own blade)
- Bleach blends Buddhist themes and Christian themes when crafting its lore. Buddhism has a concept known as Samsara and within that concept, you have something known as 6 Paths, 3 of them are virtuous paths and the other 3 are unbenelovent paths...One of those "bad" paths is the Animal path, which plays into Komamura's clan being beast.
- Oetsu say go-ichi because "Ichi" means 1, and Oetsu considers himself number 1 so he flips the order of Ichigo's name, because "go" in Japanese means 5
[Edit: Check out some of the comment/replies for additional tidbits, people shared some cool stuff. My comments tend to stretch out a bit too long so I can't put everything so Im glad that other fans are also spreading info that helps show how thought-out the lore and story of Bleach is.]

It is also worth noting that when Ichigo enters his inner world for the first time and meets Zangetsu, he is sitting on the building "upside down", just when Ichigo begins to fall and goes into despair, the old Zangetsu teaches him how to use reishi from the environment, solidify it under his feet to prevent falling, which is a quincy way of doing it! (Soul Reapers use the spiritual power inside themselves to do it).
And also Old Zangetsu stops his bleeding in the fight against Kenpachi with blut vene.
Other nice foreshadowing elements:
-in chapter 63 of the manga, when Ichigo meet Old Man Zangetsu for the first time and he tries to tell him his name and Ichigo doesn't hear it, the black rectangle covering it is way too long to be hiding "斬月" (Zangetsu), but fits quite well for "ユーハバッハ" (Yhwach), I really like this one because, unlike many the others, it's not something you can chalk up to Kubo retroactively making it out to be a foreshadowing element for Ichigo being part Quincy
-on the last panel of chapter 110, when Ichigo meets White Zangetsu for the first time, you may notice that while White Zangetsu is smile, his reflection on, well... Zangetsu (so basically himself) isn't.
-In final Getsuga form, Ichigo looks very much like Yhwach, down to the eye color.
As a side note, I'll just debunk Ichigo's "quincy sheets" being a foreshadowing element. Yes, Ichigo does have a cross on his bed sheet that looks like a Quincy symbol, but that's very likely to be a coincidence. The thing is, on top of being just a cross, a relatively "random" symbol, said cross is present only in the anime, not in the manga, and by his own admission Kubo had next to no involvement in the anime at the time (Klub Outside Q&A 36), which means it's highly unlikely he gave specific instruction for the anime team to add this detail in particular.
Now, about how Ichigo was able to actually manifest as Zanpakuto as in, have a blade, because whil White functionne had something akin to an Asauchi, it was still only present within Ichigo's soul, so the question still stands as of where does the blade comes from. First, the Zanpakuto Ichigo uses during the Karakura arc is actually Rukia's, a big hint for this is how the symbols on the hilt are the exact same, that is also why Ichigo never returns to that sealed state, it was never "his" to begin with. Now, after that, how did he manifest a Zanpakuto of his own ? Well, a very likely possibility is that his Zanpakuto was closer to an Arrancar's than a Shinigami's. We've seen Ichigo able to use Arrancar abilities thanks to White Zangetsu, so manifesting an Arrancar's version of a Zanpakuto isn't that much of stretch. Not only that, the way Ichigo "wears" his Bankai is actually very reminiscing of a Resurreccion, just look at Grimmjow, Ulquiorra or Stark. Another element for that is that if you think about it, White Zangetsu is very much like an Arrancar, the later being Hollows with Shinigami powers, while White Zangetsu is essentially the Hollow White, upon which Ichigo's soul imprinted, making him the manifestion of both Ichigo's Hollow and Shinigami powers.
There's also the fact that certain parts prior also are relevant to this one: Ichigo meeting Old Man Zangetsu, Ichigo learning Final Getsuga, and this part all have similar theming, including the episode/chapter names.
And when Ichigo learned Final Getsuga, he was partially able to accept White in addition to OMZ, and they were able to express that they wanted to protect him. Also why the Hollow mask doesn't come back, partially accepting White allowed him to incorporate those abilities naturally (hence why the mask doesn't return after getting his powers back).
The reason Katagiri told Ryuken's mother about Masaki wasn't simply because she was worried about Masaki.
Because Katagiri was in love with Ryuken.
However, she understood that she was a half-blood Quincy, and didn't tell Ryuken how she felt because she thought it would tarnish the Ishida family, who are pure-blood Quincy.
This ain't true. Katagiri simply did the thing because she understood what happens when Quincy get poisoned by Hollow. Perhaps there are some envious feelings since she is just human but that doesnt make her do hateful things. She simply did it so Masaki could get proper treatment and Ryuken will still have someone to marry to. Because as theorized by Urahara - quincy and hollow dont go well together and quincy get poisoned most of the time.
In the reaction, she calls her fanatical because she sees Katagiri from a romance POV, but it was honestly the wise thing to do. Masaki needed the treatment either ways. Just not a standard one, that Katagiri was thinking of.

shes a reactor. shes reacting to the series as she watches it and learns about it, coming up with her own theories on what will happen based on what she knows at the time. everyone does the same thing when they watch a show unless youre just not thinking at all. if you dont want to hear a reactors thoughts and theories to what theyre watching and you just want to see someone scream and make facial expressions, go watch someone else its nbd

I love how Kubo handles couples, he doesn't make instant love style. He makes them realistic but in a way that make you love them as couples. I am really glad that Isshin and Masaki wasn't a Romeo and Juliet story.

@berryboi2313 I'm kinda joking but my point is that there was never any romantic chemistry from Ichigo to Orihime. He would have done that for anybody in his life. Kubo is a fantastic writer but he did what Kishimoto did with Naruto and simply had the MC married to the person who crushed on him with zero romantic development between them.
I would have liked at some point just for Ichigo to at least hug Orihime or have an internal struggle over how he feels.

I think this is a great contrast of the Elder's point of view, he has seen so much in his existence, and this pup is screaming at him with passion and innocence about the way the "world" actually works.
The last scene always gets me emotional and makes me remember the whole stuff as I see it.
Nimaiya sending Ichigo back is the only reason that Ichigo was able to progress. Them all bowing to him is only possible after Ichigo learned the truth and learned why he is different than a normal shinigami. I feel like there has been a massive misread of his character lol. He was 100% right in everything he said to Ichigo, and he helped Ichigo achieve his true potential.
How can bleach write a very good love story in 1 episode but Naruto can't do it in 700 episodes and a movie?
To be fair Naruto has short nice love stories too (arguably not as good as this one though). It's when writing the longer ones where many of these shows totally fuck up.

Kishimoto is really bad at devolping relationships between characters, Sasuke has the charisma of a door, Naruto considers Sasuke his best friend, but Sasuke has never really being a proper friend and Naruto is OBSSESED with Sasuke, Sasuke tried to kill Sakura and she marries him... the list go on

8th volume of bleach manga - The blade and me, and now we have the blade is me. I love ichigos growth throught the story, and dynamics between him and zangetsu
On top of that The Blade and Me contains what may very well be the only foreshadowing element that cannot be chalked up to Kubo retroactively making it out to be foreshadowing.
Don't forget he's also a fullbringer. He's the ultimate hybrid
Fullbring is actually a ability, not a race. Fullbringers are essentially spiritual aware humans. So Ichigo is a hibrid of Human/Shinigami/Quincy/Hollow.
[SPOILER]
The novel "Can't Fear Your Own World" explains that fullbringers parents are attacked by hollows because even before they are born they have a fragment "nail" of the soul king inside them, wich atracts the hollows and it is the fragment itself that give them those abilities.
Fun fact, kubo answerd in a recent Q&A that when they become souls they could become a soul reaper alongside their fullbring abilities.

And even then, Ichigo might be a special case when it come to this. Since Ichigo is the perfect Soul King candidate, rather than possessing Fullbring thanks to a fragment of the Soul King, it's entirely possible that he just has this ability naturally. I mean, just think about it, wouldn't it be normal for the perfect Soul King candidate to naturally possess the ability so trivial to the Soul King just being bonded with a tiny fragment of him grants you that ability ?
When it comes to Ichigo and the Asauchi his first time, Ichigo didnt understand who he really is and questioning himself so they rejected him. Nimayia knew this all along and tried to set him on the path to learn who he really was. After learning everything from Isshin, Ichigo finally accepted the truth and knew who he truely is and the Asauchi acknowledge it the second time. This is why the title is called The Blade is Me.... he finally realized all his powers are him.
Really cool fact, when Old Man Zangetsu is introduced, there's like this weird static effect where you never hear his name. It was foreshadowed that far back.
Oh-Etsu Nimaiya is the creator of every Zanpakutō by literally forging them himself. I get that you'd believe that it would be cool if Ichigo Kurosaki could forge his own sword but that doesn't make sense since that's what Etsu does. Also Etsu was only nudging Ichigo towards the right direction of learning who he truly is, how he has this power, and how to become a true soul reaper with his own forged blade. Tough love was needed for our main protagonist to get to this point.
I think the idea was that Ichigo's soul form was just mimicking a soul reaper, it's up to the reader if it's because of Rukia showing him it temporarily, because his father is a hybrid, or because of what Aizen said about White being created from the layered souls of soul reapers in an attempt to infect a soul reaper(Nimaya also said it's similar to how Asauchi are made). The last of which is why Aizen was weak to Ichigo, he can't comprehend that Ichigo was an accident. This whole segment of the story is so beautiful, I'm glad you enjoyed it ☺
That's the episode where you understand some connections like:
- Ichigo's mom died in a rainy day;

Kubo really cooked with this one because you can pack so much symbolism onto this moment for Ichigo. One that I don't think many point out is how you can parallel his quincy powers to his mom, and his hollow powers to himself. Him constantly asking his quincy powers for help is equivalent to him asking his mom for help but never receive it, because he can't. Instead, what comes to help him are his hollow powers, himself. In this moment, he finally accepts that he can't keep looking back onto his mom, that she'll always be a part of him, but he needs to trust in himself, accept himself and forgive himself.
Also, everything to do with the zanpakuto is amazing and well thought out. Kubo created a power system that literally says, cool you want to get stronger? Get in touch with yourself and you'll get stronger.
So Ichigo never had an Asauchi. When Rukia lent Ichigo her powers in episode 1, it just manifested on his own as huge giant cleaver sword. They were always baffled why that is. But we know now that is because Ichigo is a hybrid human/soul reaper/hollow/quincy. In the same way that hollow/arrancar have a sword, that's how Ichigo got a sword without Asauchi.
You don't seem to get what you are looking at. Ichigo was a fake. Only Oetsu can make a true zanpaktou for a soul reaper. however, because ichigo did not train or go to the academy the hollow and his quincy powers were temporary subs. But the sowrd Oetsu made for his is his true zanpaktou.
Not sure if anyone answered the question about Go-Ichi, but in the spoken Japanese he's callig him Chan-Ichi. When he first meets him he addresses him as Ichigo-Chan, when he starts to help him forge his new blade he refers to him as Chan-Ichi, matching the way he speaks in Japanese and signifying that he legitimately likes him now vs just being playful and talking down to him like he was earlier, because Ichigo realizes the true nature of the Zanpakuto when he learned the truth.

IIRC, only four people have had their zanpakuto break during Bankai.
Byakuya: doesn't matter because that's how his zanpakuto's power works; by breaking into fragments.
Kurotsuchi: He's been conducting experiments and trying to modify himself & his zanpakuto so much it doesn't matter anymore.
Komamura: Him being a different species causes a special link between him and his zanpakuto which allows it to heal as his body heals.
Ikkaku: The only one that actually matters. He secretly asked Kurotsuchi to modify his zanpakuto the same way he did to his own. This may be why we never saw it again; its probably different now.
As for the blade Ichigo's been using this whole time, I always assumed that since "Zangetsu" was suppressing his Soul Reaper powers, the blade he was using was actually Seele Schneider. Whenever he went Bankai, it was actually Vollständig. When he fought Ulquiorra and his hollow took over in a wildly different form, I assumed that to be his hollow's Resurrección. Since all Zanpakuto are made by training and living with an Asuachi, Ichigo never had one and what he's been using this whole time are his Quincy and Hollow powers. At least, that's my theory.
When Ichigo goes back into the pit with Asauchi, he selects one and IMMEDIATELY is able to fully imprint his soul onto it, since he now knows his heritage and how his mother passed. Up until now, we saw the exact same thing, Ichigo with a sword and his soul imprints on it (Zangetsu), but NOW it’s more of his like FULL soul due to his past and emotional journey being revealed, yk? We’ve basically seen the Eyepatch Kenpachi version of Ichigo up until now which is HYPE. And yes, he couldn’t fully bond before with a new Asauchi because he was at a very low point, and Yhwach’s revival began messing with his Quincy side. He was able to get Zangetsu almost immediately before back in Ep 1 before all of that, so now all the fresh new Asauchi are like “damn that boy got some inner turmoil, we staying tf away” lmao.
To sum it all up, think about it like this. Asauchi are blank pieces of paper, and Zanpakuto spirits are ink used to write on it. Ichigo was basically using a completely empty pen to write anything down (yet he was CRAZY strong), now he’s got a FULL ON FOUNTAIN PEN. Ichigo by himself is the poetic harmony between all of the warring races we’ve ever seen in this world: human. Soul Reaper. Quincy. Hollow. He’s all of it in one.
Yes, he has a Zangetsu split into 2 swords now, the classical reforged and the hollow forged into the 2nd one. Bad assery all around.😎 Those 2 were fragments of his soul and The Asauchi helped forge them into the new Zanpakuto - onto itself.

Someone else probably explained the broken-swords thing, but you can regenerate your sword as long as you have spiritual pressure. Bankai, though, is an exterior ability that uses the sword's own, true power, so if that breaks, the sword itself is damaged.
Ikkaku's Bankai was severely damaged, so his is pretty much gone. Renji's Bankai had fewer segments from the damage it took. These are things Mayuri pointed out in the manga but they cut from the anime (it's in the non-translated commercial break cards, though).
This thing about Ichigo being a Quincy is in episode 1 on his bed sheet, a blue cross and the sheet all white like Ishida's clothes as if it were a clue. There's also the part where Ichigo meets Zangetsu for the first time and he asks (who are you?) and he says "Ywhach" but because of something that will happen in the future, in the series, this interfered in space and time, past present and future. Then he invents the name "Zangetsu" There's also Ichigo using Blut Vene in the fight against Zaraki in the Soul Society arc when Zaraki sticks the sword in Ichigo's chest and blood starts to flow, then he asks Zangetsu for power (obviously Quincy power) and he uses Blut Vene, besides that, in the first episode of the series, Rukia gives Ichigo the powers to defeat the Hollow and she was going to give him some of the powers and he sucks it all, why? Because it's the Quincy ability to suck spiritual energy. that is, Kubo already placed Ichigo as a Quincy, from the beginning 😎

It was all a test, Ichigo couldn’t get a new sword because he still didn’t know the origins of his power so he forced him to learn but on a time limit. The reason Ichigo got his original sword is because the Hollow White acted as a Asauchi.
He formed an incomplete sword by himself, hence he was not able to use his fully strength throughout the series.

Zangetsu (quincy) did not want him to become soul reaper because he knew if he becomes one he will fight for soul society and end up slicing the soul king (ywach future), meanwhile zangetsu (hollow) was the side who wanted to fight and to not get overpowered there was always a power struggle. In short ichigo could not dig into his full potential due to this internal conflict and he had to rely on outbursts.

His Quincy powers suppressing his full strength is a separate issue, you can't just form a true Zanpakutō by yourself.

The only reason you think Katagiri was obsessed is because you were too biased for Masaki to not take it personally when she was acting in the way it was expected of a quincy. Masaki wasn't the norm, just look at Ryuuken who didn't even want Masaki to go help a shinigami either. Quincies were going exctinct, self preservation was crucial. It bothers me that you would reduce it to some cheap catty behaviour when it's something more deep and complex. Also Kubo portrayed Katagiri as a gentle woman who genuinely cared about Ryuuken and understood him, and we're meant to sympathatize with both Ichigo and Uryuu losing their moms. I get it that you didn't realize she was Uryuu's mom, but IDK, I feel like you get too biased for certain characters, like how you were so bothered by Oetsu. You do still get a lot right tho, not taking that away from you.

Your hatred of Ohetsu is kind of hard to understand. He told Ichigo exactly what he needed to hear. That's what good mentors do. It's kind of a well-known trope at this point.
He goes around a lot with the thing about Ichigo and the reason why there isn't a real shinigami. In the final scene you can see how the 2 zampakutos become like a kind of colored spheres, one blue and the other red, but in the end the 2 become the same color, an orange color. A shinigami is one with his zampakuto and Ichigo was in constant conflict with her because of her hollow side and after Yhwach's revelation, that's why at the end they say because you are me. In Bleach they don't tell you everything literally, you have to see the visual and poetic references that there are.

The reason katagiri is like that with masaki is because she knows what will happen to people with impure blood in Quincy society.
People outside of the pure blooded Quincy is viewed like a meat shield.
Remember how ryuuken said that masaki shouldn't go out and fight until the shinigami is dead, and even then they should send the servants first, and only if those servants failed do the pure blood come out.
Now all I want from Bleach after this flashback is like, an AU Masaki oneshot where she doesn't lose her powers, kicks that hollow's butt quickly, and goes on to have a couple of cool fights in SS, Hueco Mundo, wherever. For me, I think Ichigo was able to use an Asauchi and fit with what the story had told us about creating your own Zanpakto comes down to how I see the Asauchi - To me they are blank canvases. Before the artist paints, there is still a canvas first, just like before the Zanpakto there is the Asauchi. Ichigo had to go back because he didn’t know what to paint basically.

His quincy power said to him you took path of soul reaper, I would have to kill you. He didn't meant that he himself will kill Ichigo. He is just a manifestation. He meant 'Yuhabaha'. Because if Ichigo continues to be Soul Reaper then it was not far that he will one day cross path with Quincy as enemies. You misunderstood the end of episode 12: that wasn't Yhwach - it was Old Man Zangetsu speaking about Ichigo. It's an easy misunderstanding since they look and sound the same.
Ichigo having dual blade makes sense since the hollow if you paid attention had hands like that..
Katagiri wasn't like fanatically in love with Ryuken ma'am; she was loyal to the bloodline. Ofc she cared for Masaki, especially because Ryuken cared about Masaki, and she was loyal to him and again the bloodline. Masaki had already willingly tainted her purity with hollow reiatsu and didn't want Ryuken to risk doing the same and essentially bringing an end to pure blood quincies, It'd be a sacrilegious thing to do. ESPECIALLY because it was originally done for the sake of a soul reaper, which even at that point in the story hated soul reapers. Ryuken even told Masaki, "we should only head out once the soul reaper is dead."
I also dont understand all the hate towards Oetsu. What he did to Ichigo was treat him like a man. He didn't tip toe around things to spare his feelings because it was his feelings that drove him to become an actual true soul reaper. When he became a soul reaper with his own power, it was mainly being overseen by old man Zangetsu, which, as we learn, is the manifestation of his quincy powers. Quincy powers leading his pursuit of being a soulreaper? Id say thats a fake soul reaper, and because of that he didnt have access to the one thing that makes a soul reaper a soul reaper: a full connection to and understanding of an asauchi, because the asauchi comes from the soul reapers soul, so not understanding his heritage means he didnt have a true connection to his soul reaper powers. And not sparing his feelings on that meant in the end when ichigo did learn what all of it was and meant hed make a decision without his feelings clouding it in any way. Given the circumstances id say that was the best way to treat ichigo like a man.

Ichigo didn’t manifest his own sword, his first zanpakuto was his hollow side, he looked like a shinigami bc for one, the hollow itself was composed of shinigami souls, two rukia is the one who triggered ichigo’s awakening with her own reiatsu. And three, urahara’s training where he basically gave him a knock off asauchi.
Ichigo literally was a fake soul reaper. He didn’t develop his shinigami powers like they do, and was instead carried by his latent potential & the reiatsu of real shinigami. Even when he lost his powers after mugetsu, every captain including Yama himself gave him a portion of their reiatsu so that he could regain his “shinigami” powers. It was never really his own, until now.
Ishin and Ichigo are allot alike, they take so much pride in their power to help people and ichigo here is distraught at the idea of being powerless but both would give up their powers in a heart beat if it meant saving one person.
Kaien Shiba had a tragic love story. his wife was possessed by a hollow, and he had to kill her. Then the hollow possessed him, so rukia killed him

I kinda get the point you made, but I feel like you're relating personal experience to a situation that only superficially resembles actual obsession, but when someone Kabedons you for disobeying them, I think you can quote their words to defend your actions, which I think is more the intent, not so much "oh, I will do what I think you want, regardless of everything around me" and more "Of course I would do this, it's the only thing that makes sense, and it's inline with your best interest too.".
Like she's not, saving his toenail clippings and shit, She's trying to save the life of her romantic rival, getting yelled at by a person she likes for doing so, and saying she's doing it because she values what he values.
I get the 'what she thinks he needs' vs 'what he actually needs' angle, but I think getting upset about that only makes sense if she's doing something that is debatably wrong, in this situation, she is unquestionably correct to try and save Misaki so it doesn't really feel like she's exerting her will over him, telling people about what she did was basically the only option, and now that she's being confronted about doing it, she's pointing out that she's also doing what's best for him, not simply going against his wishes and being spiteful.
I don't think Ryuken wanted to marry Masaki for the sake of the bloodline and thats why he asked Katagiri if she thought Masaki liked him, I think that's part of why he detests Quincies now and why he's disappointed in Uryu for wanting to be one so badly (this is just my best assumption)
Something to remember about Ichigo is that he always blamed himself for his mothers death and now that he's learned that it wasn't him but Yhwach that killed her a huge weight has been lifted off of his shoulders which alone was probably a huge boost to his power and confidence.

Nah. Ryuken knew Katagir was just using a facade to please his mom just enough but he knew about it. If she really had been all that fanatic they wouldn´t have ended up together. Trust me, a real man will never consider someone like her "creepy" or "wierd" just for wanting to please everyone. If anything what Ryuken might´ve had been pissed about could´ve been the fact that she had been doing that for that long, knowing how much of a real pain it had to be. How in the actual hell would Ichigo forge his own zanpakuto if he doesn't even have the ability to? The reason you're hating on Nimaiya shows you really didn't pay any attention at all to his explanations and the reason he sent Ichigo back and how the zanpakutos work; all of this really went over your head just because you were so focused on hating the guy for letting the right person (Isshin) tell Ichigo the truth about himself.
