- Hey guys! My name is Paris and I am currently studying engineering and playing varsity tennis at McMaster University. Here is a typical day in my life (first semester); this was filmed during off season so I didn't have tennis practice that day, but I did have a couple of other extra-curriculars. Enjoy the video! (also like and subscribe ;)

Hey, if your an engineering student do you still get the time to have a job ?
It's possible but you would have to sacrifice either Time with friends or extracurricular's
hey! I love this video btw! I got accepted into Mac for engineering and I just had a couple questions about the program!
Sonja Ross congrats! id love to try to answer ur questions dm me on insta! @parissliu
It's good just live on campus and study like crazy everyday.

lol right!!
Keep the faith!
Hi! I was just curious what kind of computer you use for eng and if you had program specific tips/ study tips. I’m starting first year in the fall :)
Hi Paris, I watched your video on Canadian university comparisons with your friends and was super intrigued! One of the guys who selected Waterloo as their choice is going into Civil. Is there any way I could get in contact with him to ask questions about admissions/ how the program is so far? I’m currently in gr.12 applying for uni’s
I’m interested in civil/ architectural engineering and is why I think advice directly from him could be more relatable :)
Hey so he actually switched out of civil, but let me know if you still want to get in touch with him!
I'm considering Mcmaster or queens engineering if I don't get into Toronto. Is there something that made you choose this school over the others that I should consider?
Seungmin Hong McMaster was always my first choice; the campus is amazing and just felt like home the first time I visited, and the community is very inclusive and helpful, unlike some schools that can be more on the competitive side. I also find that Mac is just a well rounded school in general; theres a lot of emphasis on extracurricular and community involvement but the academics are still very good too. Hope that helps!
What did you choose? I’m stuck between queens and McMaster
@@syedahasnainnaqvi1572 I ended up going to uWaterloo. I didn't think I had a chance, so I didn't list it. Before that, I was about to accept my offer to Queen's
@@seungminhong2454 omg congrats!! Haha I know this was a long time ago, but what made you consider choosing queens over mac?
@@syedahasnainnaqvi1572 there were a few reasons.
Since I knew I wanted to go into ECE, Queen's offered an ECE direct entry stream (ECEi), but McMaster only had an option for general engineering in 1st year.
More of my friends were going to Queens, and it was closer to where I live.
One reason why I might have chosen McMaster, is that they have a more well defined co-op program, which I think is important for my career options.
You're a Christian? Me too, bless up!
I love how she started to read her bible while she was getting ready.
Would you be open to talking to a potential next-year Mac Eng student? I'm trying to make a decision and would love some firsthand info!
zach Sedgman yes of course! Dm me on Instagram @parissliu
you forgot the daily mental breakdown #justengthings
A Nebel next time you can demonstrate
If u dnt mind can I ask when u received your engineering acceptance and with what average
B0T I received my Mac acceptance first week of March
You guys are so lucky you have so beautiful weather and everything and so good dorms and stuff, but being an south Asian eng student is literally the worst thing ever :(
yes i get u im from pakistan :(
Hey, do they have any bible study groups or clubs at McMaster?
Xavier Ramsay yes! I’m a part of LIFT church and they have services every Sunday on campus (which is super convenient) and there’s something called simple churches which are small groups within LIFT and we meet together every week and also serve in the community together! We still have services online every week if that’s something youre interested in let me know and I can get you connected! Here’s a link to their website if you want more info :) liftchurch.ca
how does it feel like as a engineering university student compared to your highschool life?
dear which engineering are u doing?? and what task has given to you let me know i am also engineering student
MuHaMmad HaR00N I’m in civil!
saw that egg trick and went no fucking way and the egg burst in my pot bc i dropped it in
Yea you gotta place it in carefully 😂
i like your video
One of the biggest mistakes of first yr engineering is taking econ as an elective
econ is hard but at least econ is useful class not useless like stem subjects.
oh hey
how did you find the jump from grade 12 physics to first year uni physics?
A lot of it is the same, just with slightly harder questions. There is new content but nothing that's unmanageable if you put in the work!
@@parisliu5172 tysm for your reply! This really puts me at ease cause I’m considering going into engineering but Im not so sure if I’ll be able to manage physics. Thank you!
What engineer do you study?
I’m in civil engineering !
hey! i'm going into eng at mac this fall and I was wondering what laptop you recommend getting.
its possible to run the engineering applications on mac but i would recommend windows so you dont have to bootcamp your mac. i have an HP pavilion, but i would recommend something lighter and faster (for reference my HP processor is core i5 CPU @1.70GHz 2.39 Ghz, RAM is 8GB, and its a 64-bit operating system) If you get a computer with these specs or better you should be good. some of my friends have windows computers that you can write on as well and they find that super helpful too; i personally just use my HP laptop with an ipad to write on) hope that helps and maybe i'll see you around in september!
Paris Liu okay thank you so much!
What site did you use to house hunt?
We used the mcmaster housing board and facebook housing groups!
If I want to apply to this school could I ask you for some tips?
Yes message me on linked in! ca.linkedin.com/in/paris-liu
How many days in week you have classes ?

what type of engineering are you planning for?
I’m in civil!
Looks like we are on the same page haha

Hi there Paris! This video is very inspiring.Thank you so much. I did my first degree in Engineering Physics in Ghana (West Africa) and I'm currently looking for a university to do my masters in electrical and electronic engineering. Can I get your email or whatApp contact, so we can chat and you know help me with some heads up ideas on applying to your school.
Hey you can contact me on linked in!
