If you dont live close to a big bream lake and you live near a canal give it ago youll be suprised of the stamp of bream in the canal good 3 4 pounds hybrids and big perch
For a very cheap and effective fishing session on a method use liquidized bread mixed with an egg and a chick pea as your hook bait, it's worked wonders for me, give it ago of you haven't already 👍
Was just thinking exactly the same thing Joe. 2 bags of ground bait (£18) Pint of maggots, £3, pint of casters (£3.50) bag of worms £5, two tins of flavoured sweetcorn £6. Not being funny but I'm getting to the point where fishing is just too expensive!

Got to be fifty pounds of bait there at today`s prices.

Buy a cheap blender, maybe second hand, then you can liquidise everything. Cat biscuits are superb.
Problem. Lots of commercial s have banned bread based groundbait. 😢
