THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I've always done the channels way or the color drop tool but sometimes it would leave that shadowed grey area. As simple as this is, it's a game changer for me
Hey, Jimmy!!! I didn't realize this was your video lol - I've had this one saved for a while now and just pulled it up to watch again! Small world!
Thanks for this followup tutorial! Very much appreciated.
I wanted to do the opposite of what you have done here. I find the non photo blue really annoying because it fades right into the white paper and I can't see the artwork at all. 😢 But I have a few art books that use these blue line comics pages for exercises and I'd like to darken them so that I can see what I'm doing. Normally I've used levels but it picks up the texture of the paper and gets way too dark. Your method was much more helpful so thanks. It still wasn't perfect but much nicer than what I could figure out myself. 👍🏻
Greatly apreciate it. Sharing your knowledge makes the world better.😁
Thank you Jimmy for this vid, awesome tip as always)
Thanks Jimmy!
thanks for the help.
Succinct and informative, and works for CS6, as well. Thanks for the info!
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, after removing the blue, I could still see some of the blue lines in the drawing, just converted to grey. Do you know why this happened?
question, what do I do if my pages are already physically colored via copic markers?
Thank you so much for this
Very helpful
Thanks! Nice art. Your voice is like Bane, from dark knight

Top ten anime betrayals: when I scan my stuff in the paper is not all white and my inks aren't 000 black, even with the India ink i got with my $7 speedball crow quill. Do i need different paper or a better program than paint
Okay, I watched your video on how to turn B&W pencil art into Non-Photo Blue line art, and have been playing with it in Photoshop, BUT, the blue line seemed...strong. So I looked online to verify the numbers you gave in the video, which hexes out to #4BABCE, but everything I find online from commercial printers etc, says that Non-Photo Blue is #A4DDED (R-164 G-221 B- 237).
Comparing them side-by side, there is a serious difference between the colors! I came her to ask you about it, and found this video, so I watched it first (just in case), but you said nothing about it here, So,...am I missing something as to why you give an entirely different shade as being Non-Photo Blue (Depends on your printer, or due to yadda-yadda...), or what?
I don't want to do a bunch of conversions on art pieces I have, and then have to do convert them again to print correctly. Y'know?
Thanks for the help!

Isn't the point of "non photo" blue that it doesn't show up when you scan it? Why call it non photo blue if you aren't using actual non photo blue pencils?
Non photo blue was used long ago, when the artwork was "scanned" in xerox photocopy machines. Those machines could not "see" the non photo blue color.
