Thankfully I’m much better now, so this song connects with me so deeply.
Medication can really help you get some things straight inside your head. It doesn’t change you, it just helps you become yourself again. Don’t be afraid to take it. It would be better if you didn’t have to take any, but since your doctor/therapist thinks that’s best for you, don’t be afraid to trust them. It’s alright ❤️

It's like when you realize that you're the problem in your life, whether you overthink, or are anxious, or feel self loathing, sometimes it's not depression or the world around you that's the problem, it's just you an your mind set and the way you treat yourself. I know that's not always the case, people can be depressed, people can have a shitty world around them. But it can be hard to tell if those are the problem or if you are the problem, and when you can't tell, your mind can just spiral, either self hating because you blame yourself not realizing that you're not at fault, or hating the world and environment not knowing that it's really your mindset that's at fault

In my head, I literally imagined myself in a flat barren wasteland with a heavy iron ball chained to my ankle, and way off in the distance were the gates of Heaven and all of my friends and family who had forgiven me and loved me despite my failures and flaws were there with God, waving for me to come over. Instead, I would consciously turn the other way and drag the iron ball along as I walked in the opposite direction. I genuinely thought I deserved to be miserable and go to hell, because I couldn't forgive myself. "Am I the only one that has a loaded gun that's full of doubts and memories to overcome? At the same time as the above, I often (especially alone at night) would belt off a series of insults in my head until the hate was raging. I would spend hours trying to come up with new ways to rag on myself about my mistakes and regrets until I couldn't even see myself as a person anymore.
