I got Grainpa from the Crank-A-Kai yesterday. I was gonna do this tutorial sometime this weekend, but the game let me have him early. For once the Crank-A-Kai works in my favor.
Thanks for the tutorial, when the game is released where I am, I will do this. Also I do remember the Scranny Livestream, I felt you pain for how long it took to fin and then catch.
With Yokai watch 1 and 2 when I brought them they were both 100% all Yokai even Qr codes got all bosses beaten all legendereis infonit ernforno beaten and divine paridise All DONE whithout doing anything

Train random encounter: Pros: mindless, so a lot more easily done while doing other stuff Cons: still takes a long time Cons: not garunteed to befriend Hopefully this helps anybody who hates this method but for some reason loves trains XD
Is Grainpa really that hard to obtain? I found him completely by accident in a Yokai Spot in Downtown Springdale and it only took me a few tries to befriend. The same thing happened with Bruff.
Hey Abdallah! I got Grainpa while riding the train and collecting my stamps for the train pass quest. I was lucky enough to befriend him. It may be easier to wait while riding on the train for him.

I was riding the train and found him. I befriended him this way. I was riding the train because I like free Crank-a-Kai coins and other such items, and Grainpa showed up. I think the train is just as easy once the train is free, because while it may take a bit longer you get lots of good items and don't need to start hating Housat. He does not even remember why he is there. Impossible to save-reset Grainpa encounters on the train, because the train encounters change every time you load the game.

Helps, but I've still not crossed the mailbox with Grainpa in it... Also, not sure it's a thing but it seems with my attempts, if the mailbox is at one location, it seems to not be in any other location for whatever reason. I'll keep at it though to hopefully find him at some point.

This is not the only way to get Grainpa you could use a green coin in the past crank a kai or he could spon on the train and there is a qest were you can get a card named free N pass it is a qest were you have to go to all the trains in the game but not little Haven or chery hill

Hey abdallah, you should probably mention in an annotation that Grainpa is only available in the Past Crank-a-kai.
I love having and hunting for rare Yo-Kai but I get bored and frustrated really easily and end up quitting after trying 5+ times
I remember fighting him 2 times and saying >no unsted of >yes once I saw this video I was like "oooooooooh mmmmmmmmyyyyyyy GODDDDDDDDDDDD"

the free N pass makes it possible to go on the train with out paying lasting infinitly unlike a day pass I hoped this helped you out
