What is the exact bulb you are using ?

Well ... they are already installed in the pool with no front facing markings, but I believe they were the Rainbow Ray lamps. I did look for replacements, but I think the only thing on the market that fits this specific Hayward enclosure are the Hayward Aqua Lamp Rainbow Rays LEDs.

Hi there, I'm thinking of going with the aqua lamp retro and would appreciate your thoughts on the whole system? I'm looking for that deep blue look but it's hard to find any pics on aqualamp rainbow rays. I already have an old Al14 non led, il just be switching the bulbs. Thank u sir

We've really settled to just using the blue and white settings -- the other colours really don't "fit" when evening swimming all that much. We do set different colours for parties sometimes, (e.g. Red for Canada Day). The two bulbs do light our pool well though, and it's a ~20x40

There is a great product on the market now called the Atom Retro. It will retro fit any older existing Aqua/Lamps that may be leaking or costly to repair. No electrician required. Fully UL listed. www.selectpoolproducts.ca/spa-electrics-led-pool--spa-lights

Hey mate, thanks for uploading! Sorry if dumb, but can I remove the light from the pool while its completely submerged? I noticed your waterline was low and didn't know if it mattered or not. Cheers.

@@gibanica4854 I have the same system. Yes, you can remove the light even when submerged. The light housing is a closed system and completely waterproof. The hole in the pool that the light mounts into is also waterproof, so it won't matter if water gets in there. In fact, water is always in behind the light when the pool is full.

Don’t buy The Atom retrofit - it costs way more due to the difficult install.
I just found out I have no more warranty or CSA safety approval on my Aqualamp pool light cables and power supply. Don’t be a fool like me, SIMPLY buy the AQUA/LAMP Rainbow Ray replacement bulb (as seen in video above) made by AQUA/LAMP.

well after paying 44.99 for one incadescent aqualamp par36 bulb... lasted two years... i just bought two replacement LED 12v 9w 6000k replacement bulbs from amazon for 34.99CAD. Where the hell do these pool shops get off selling these farm bulbs for that kind of price... in an unbranded white box... it is 100% not made by aqualamp... support local they say? Can't do it guys, get your prices in check... this is robbery.

THANKS for this tip ... I will also give these tractor bulbs a try. The other ones I had were more like 3000K color and the kids preferred the old light but I gave up using the official AquaLamp LEDs since their reliability is so poor, especially given their cost.

@@kalsorcwow so I just put these in and oddly enough right before I went to swap the bulbs out the second one blew. These new 6000k 9w amazon bulbs look so much nicer. The old aqua lamp bulbs were spot lights and 2700k ish. The led are so far so good. I'll report on how they last. Considering taking them out for the winter but not sure. I usually pull them out of the pool and suspend them on the deck
