The black mold may be able to be controlled with increased air flow. I saw another video where the roof design allowed cool air to mix and escape but not so much that it over cooled... the roof design itself creates airflow without adding any electric fans etc ....
You guys are living the dream! I’m about to get a 20 foot long greenhouse that’s just 7 feet tall. It’s just a start and maybe not tall enough but I’ve gotta give it a shot 😂
Everyone please remember to give a thumbs up for these nicely presented videos!! Giving a “thumbs up” helps the UA-cam algorithm understand that we enjoy this content and then will hopefully place these videos in others video feeds. Thus by us thumbs upping we can hopefully get more people interested in growing rare and wonderful items from Baker Creek. Just by a simple action we can help contribute to saving plant species!
Hello! I live in Brazil, in the tropics. I want to experiment with an indoor hydroponic system in my apartment. Perhaps DWC or NFT. I know it’s tricky with the heat, humidity and sun. What crop would you suggest I start with? Thanks!
This greenhouse is designed to mimic a tropical climate, it shouldnt be necessary in your area, but it is made from polycarbonate sheeting (greenhouse panels) and we have ventilation and heating!
@@RareSeedsBC thanks you, I was wondering how many tropical plants can one fit per sqr meter? I mean if you were to plant a high variety of towel fruit trees like banana mango avocado, dragon fruit, papaya passion fruit and so on, I cannot find an average of how many would fit (in a 40-50sqr meters small greenhouse) for instance. How dense xan you plant while still harvesting a max amount of food and have healthy plants (I know air circulation is important)
Most large tropical trees and plants like , avacado, papaya, mangoes and other trees will need to be planted atleast 10-15 feet apart. For some straight growing plants like bananas you can get away with planting them 5-10 feet apart!
@@RareSeedsBC thanks so much for the reply! I am wondering what type of substrate you used to get such a great production of tropical fruit, I have been doing some research online but I can't quite figure out the best recipe. I would like to make my own manure vermicompost and I think I would use perlite to make sure the mix will be well draining but I am not sure how much of what else I should add (and in what concentrations). I have a low budget so I would like to use local materials I can get for cheap or even free.
I'm building a greenhouse this month and putting a hot tub in it. We're renters but two greenhouses sounds like a dream.
Красота. Спасибо за интересное видео! Привет из России!)
This was one of the more interesting RareSeeds videos I've seen. Thanks for sharing it!

Potassium carbonate is a great deterrent to many diseases in hot humid climates.
Woohoo! New video!
Beleaf will take care of your mealy bug
At the time of harvest, you cut the banana tree (plant) down?
yes! each tree will only bear fruit once, but ill send up new young shoots as well!
2:33 The word is dioecious when plants have flowers of both sexes as opposed to monoecious
Is the taste sweet of your fruit compared to outside fruit?
yes!
May I ask who designed the greenhouse? I would love to build one just like it.
Where can I get tropical fruit trees for my greenhouse? (Bananas and Papayas)
we do sell some bananas in spring!
The oxygen in there must be pure
What kinda of propane heaters do u use to heat it?
Modine! :)
If is was a salt water pool could that potentially kill the mold? Me sneak my husband are thinking of doing the same as this but half of the size 😅
possibly, but then protecting the machinery and maintaining salinity and choosing the right coating would come into question
@@RareSeedsBC thank you! :D

Basil, Peppers, or even Cowpeas may make some nice choices to start with.
How can I start this green house system in india
