Was about to go to sleep at 3:30AM and now Im ready to lift 700lb boulders while playing flute on the back of a flying Pegasus. Thanks Jacob always spicing things up
ashuashusahusahasuhasuhas definetely the best description of my spirit right now!!!
Jacob Collier and a Disney movie score is a combination made in the heavens.
Please leave Disney out of this. Disney is the killer of true creativity. I know because I have personally seen the way they operate. Their movies are highly formulaic. Jacob is NOT.
@@rr7firefly to be fair, this song does sound like a Disney score. I was looking through the comments searching for just that.
@@goatneck Well, I don't want to take anything away from you. My work is in architecture, graphic design and public art. Long ago I realized that the artist (or producer) is not the product. (Sometimes the things we really like are made by people we can hardly stand. That's the grown up world. LOL)
I'm 65 yrs young and really enjoy this young man's enormous musicality! What a gift...
Hey, I am 69 and I listen to him every night since I accidentally discovered him about three years ago. My listening experience allows me to savor his sonic mastery ....
Though not as harmonically or rhythmically complex as some of his other reimaginings, this one is _orchestrationally_ complex.
And damn, if that orchestration isn't good.
It makes sense. The harmony and rhythm are _so_ well done in the original; if he wanted to bring something new to the mix, he had to expand the sonic palate into a wider, more comprehensive interpretation. The result is fucking *stunning*.
This man is a genius and a gift to mankind in the most trying of times.
Maybe because the original is already so rhythmically and harmonically rich. Sting no slouch
You are so, so right, all of you. The arrangement is especially radiant between 2:30 and 3:50. It's 1:30am and I can't stop playing it.
I like that he uses the word "reimagined" instead of "covered" cause "covered" just really doesn't... cover it ;)
At first no pun intended but then it was.
Genius ... with a big happy heart!! If more people find "their voice" no matter what they are good at or like ... the world will definitely get much better! The lesson he sets: don't be better - just be you - being that no one else can do that for you. Jacob makes me smile .... his music expresses his happiness.
I just recently discovered the Police and Sting a few days ago, and I was a Jacob Collier fan long before that. Seeing this on my recommended made my day.
Thank you Jacob. You can have a sleepless night, be unsure about some decision you have to make, or concerned about anything else in this troubled world, then comes this music, which whispers 'its ok. There's love, beauty and mystery here in this universe enough for all of us, and forever. It's all ok. ..'
2:18 who else can hear :"will you marry me" in the background
honestly, i could be sassy and say "well obviously, it's in the foreground"
but honestly uh... no, i didn't notice that until you said it. just goes to show the density of Colliers music c:
The scary part is that he does sneaky little Easter eggs like this all the time so you never know when you've caught everything.
The chord progression at the end is just painfully beautiful
this musical arrangement is absolutely brilliant. I heard 3x and I'm speechless.
Congratulations on another amazing job.
I will never get over the brilliance that is Jacob Collier. He has changed me and touched my heart in many ways. His music reflects the heavens. Your comment took the words out of my mouth.
The whole song is awesome and fun to listen to, but the real magic happens at 4:08 🤯
THIS!! His chords are just otherwordly. I wish he would write an entire sonata like this.
I love the way he ended this ......he found some new chords..I knew they were out there
This is the kind of jam that gets you in the mood to start the day right! WOW!
You know, personally I’m not even a big fan of the type of music Jacob makes but there’s something about it that makes it a real listening experience even tho you don’t like it. Maybe it’s the feeling that the guy behind this really is a genius.. I really don’t know but what he does is really impressive
Listening to you, Jacob, reminds me of experiencing Christmas as a child. Thank you.
Same here❤ its kinda nostalgia feeling it turns me happy and sad at the same time
Jacob has the sunshine chords in his heart. And sunshine is more complex than we know.
And I forgot to say, thank you , Jacob, for bringing magic into all our Lives.

I still can't believe he and I are the same age. Makes you wonder what you've been doing with your life 😂
Peasant's Rondo I’m 2-3 years shy of his age, and I’m feeling the same. But, there’s 50-60 years left of my life to try and catch up so God damn it I’ll try 😂 x
Jacob Collier, you are an enrichment for humankind. Thank you for giving us so many good things, making our lives a bit better
Good luck, June. Godspeed.
This guy is absolutely amazing.I have never heard anything like this:-).
Der absolute Wahnsinn. Alleine die Harmonien in der 2. Strophe (1:26) - einfach so so gut! Sowohl kompositorisch als auch mixtechnisch - Oberknaller...
I’m in the middle of a performance rn and listening to his music just calms my adrenaline and anxiety down, thank you JC!!
Why the heck are you commenting on the Jacob Collier video in a performance?!?!?!?!
Am I the only one having to constantly replay this part from 2:10 just because his voice is just too sweet...??😍
this honestly could feel right at home in a modern broadway musical
Did Sting hear this? I think he would be pleased!
he sounds like an untainted childhood
2 songs in one day!! What have I done to deserve this??
More than 2 pal, we’re all in for a very good day I think 👍
Realized this right after I posted this comment! We have all been blessed by the Jacob Collier gods!
This is my favorite JC cover. Beautiful
Every re-imagine Jacob Collier does is magic
Beginning to get a picture of the “Djesse sound” for this volume of the album, and it’s mesmerizing.
Just can't stop listening to this
4:07 I need to have this progression
F#, Cmaj7add2, Esus4/C#, Gmaj7add2, F#7sus4add10, A9sus4/F, C, Gmaj7add2, F#add2/C#. 😉
Just moved me to tears. Does not happen so often.
And I thought the original was beautiful already!! Now this!!
I wish I had discovered you 2 months ago instead of just 5 days ago, I would have definitely gone to see you perform live. Now I just have to wait for volume 2 of Djesse to come out.
woke up this morning to 4 songs off this album, what a day today is going to be!
Imagine Pat Metheny Group. Now imagine condensing all of that talent into one person.
Wowwwww. Bruhhh. I grew UP on PAT!!! First Circle, Falcon Snowman, Off Ramp, etc etc etc. GREAT POINT!!!
VINZ BROWN The day I played The First Circle during a live performance was and still is the best day of my life, such an incredible piece in Big Band form

Absolutely adore this arrangment
Unlimited talents. Universal abilities.
Were that we all had that sort of drive and focus!!
This is paramount fantastic ... Love those small odes to the late Jaco Pastorius that crawls in ... The perfect follow up to Collier is "Liberty City" with Pastorius ... from "Word of Mouth".
I am a huge fan of both the Police and Jacob so when I saw this I was so excited.
You're brilliant!!! I'm happy to hear your music!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is awesome! True masterpiece from our old friends. I wish I had a opportunity to attend their concert.
Brilliant cover. Thanks for showcasing not just your ability but also that of all who completed this.

If there was a Calvin & Hobbes movie, Jacob Collier would be the perfect man to do the score.

That INTRO!!!!!
If I ever were to believe something or someone was touched by god, Jacob would fit the bill... divine inspiration!
Couldn't have said it better myself. Besides that I am certain he is def a gift from above as a blessing to all human kind's ear drums. Not sure we deserve him. But I won't argue.
You're big Jacob!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simly. Beatiful.
So good. More Sting compositions would be wonderful.
