When you own this vehicle for years, you come to a simple realization, this car trumps pretty much anything on the road in any aspect, luxury, reliability, smoothness, plus power considering a fully loaded one weights 4076 lbs. Everytime i pull it out, it turns heads considering the roads are filled with their competitors; audi, bmw, infinity, and lexus. Even though they scrapped the v8, it still produces decent power and it throws its weight around efficiently. Did I mention the most efficient and best awd system in any car brand... people cry about styling but the more you live with this car, the prettier it seems to get. Dont forget, this model is 10 years old now and still looks way better with its rather conservative styling then models that try too hard. At the end of the day its still a honda meaning beautiful power delivery, reliability and above all else, it holds its resell value. 2 years after I bought it, the Acura dealership called wanting to buy it back for the same price...Some people will never learn, if it aint broke, dont fix it...Bmw and Audi are simply crap compared to what they used to be, and when the RL came out, it was in the same class as a E500 benz...i have no idea why people compare a luxury vehicle with ones that are more sporty...
I really want this model! And I can only afford the older model. Your comment reminded me how much i LOVED my 97 CL 3.0, and i Will be looking for this car in my car search... Thank u!
@@diamari91 I'm a big fan of the Lexus brand. Is it similar to the Toyota vs Honda argument? Lexus is more of thr ride car while the Acura is more of the drivers car?
@@chriscornelius2518 you know what? I agree with that, lexus is for the ride, acura is for the driver... I am the original owner of my 2005 Acura RL that I bought in August of 2005 from a Chicago based dealership. Currently has about 194,000 miles and still drives very smoothly. The best thing I did was to move to South Carolina in 2009 so it didn’t have to endure the harsh winters of Chicago. I’m currently at the point where I’ll probably have to do the timing belt and water pump once again but that is no big deal. When I wash it and wax it it looks like it just came off of a new car lot as a brand-new vehicle. I can’t tell you how happy I am that I bought this car 17 years ago. I got the 2005 Acura RL and it has 259000 miles and it still handles great...... I have taken it in to get to timing belt done.... Change all the rubber hoses just because of the mileage.... And the radiator ..... I bought it when it had a hundred and fifty thousand miles so yeah they are very reliable

Got this car back in December (2019) I flew from VA to NJ to get a blue one. While I love it so much and even replaced the RL badge with a Legend badge, mannnnn why a 5-speed??? That sixth gear would’ve been real nice Honda Update: September 2020 it got totaled by a stupid driver trying to run a red-light. I mourn the days when my recent cars break down and ever since then I haven't been able to find a vehicle as bulletproof as this car was. Nonetheless, enjoy what you have while it's yours because you never know what driver is out there to take it away from you. Haven't been able to find one like it since (especially in this used car market now)
+Rob H It doesn't drive as sporty as the TL due to suspension setup, but that can be fixed with some coilovers. The SH-AWD is amazing, and needs to be driven to truly grasp how great it really is.
I got them both buddy. 3 of them to be exact. 07 TL with Navi 07 TL-S 06 RL Built quality is surpass the TL in interior, however TL did a VERY nice job at mid $30k car as far as interior goes.
@cm18cam This car came out when I was 11 and I fell in love first sight in Car and Driver. I'm probably going to start driving at about 18-20 or so, and if my life goes according to my plan (becoming a car safety engineer, SERIOUSLY looking into working at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) I think I'll pick up one of these when I'm in my late 20s and earning some decent money. Coming from an 07 Civic Si, I'm thinking about the RL (used). My brother has a TL, and the torque steer and understeer are annoying. I'm over FWD. The TL is faster, but the RL is just great.
